First of all, welcome!

If you haven't already, please read the sidebar for the rules etc. If possible, alongside posting a generic YouTube or Bandcamp link to a song, if you could post links to other services you use (such as Spotify) then it makes it easier for people to listen on their preferred platform. This isn't essential, but I think it makes it easier for everyone to access the music and listen the way they want to.

An alternate post structure myself and @Myr@lemmy.world use, which I think looks the nicest, uses the image post format (with the album cover as the image) and links to the relevant platforms at the bottom of the text body. See one of my posts for reference. Again, not essential, just helps keep things uniform.

And if you want to be a real saint, you could remove unnecessary parameters from links 😉 (though I don't expect everyone to go to that much trouble).

Enjoy some good fucking music! 🤘

Very underground modern Italian thrash/crossover. Has a decent overall sound, and they definitely (deaf in italy lmao) have potential. I'm looking forward to anything they might release in the future; they seem to experiment with their voice a bit here and there throughout the album. Today I share the fourth track in their debut, a song with more in depth songwriting and time changes.

From my hometown local heroes Repent emit Bay Area influenced thrash metal with hardcore style vocals.

Fast and hard, straight forward and no bullshit.

Founded in 1992 they have recorded four albums so far. Vortex of Violence is their best effort IMO.

These guys are kind of hidden champions. It’s a shame they don’t play live so often.

They really fed us this EP very slowly over the past few months. Was just reminded this came out last week and I had to share the song Tyrant King cuz it's so goood. I really hope they keep this direction for the band cuz this fuckin slaps while being silly as hell at the same time lol.

Well now, that's an aesthetic you don't see every day. These crazy cowboys play some sort of hybrid of modern crossover thrash with metalcore. Voice reminds me a lot of Riley Gale, but more just a bit more deeply strained. It is what it is, I struggle to come up with another sentence lol - It doesn't suck at all but apart from the material and themes, you've probably heard this before.

Had to post this awesome thrashy sludge opening to one of High on Fire's most acclaimed albums. Fantastic pounding beats and riffs get the blood pumping and the gritty sound keeps everything grounded.

Fem-fronted thrash band from Canada, channels speed metal pseudo-falsetto with a harsher punk sound in the voice. Sounds great and pissed off altogether lol.

Another for fans of Vektor, Skeleton Witch, and Revocation! Energetic technical death metal with splashes of technical thrash and melodic death metal. Linked is the opener to their third album, which happens to be one hell of a banger all throughout!

Modern thrash from Canada. Very little info on this group; seems to have taken influence from a lot of bands, they try very hard to differentiate themselves. Think some modern Exodus, a little modern Kreator mixed with a bit of Warbringer thrown in there. Linked is the first actual track of their 2024 EP.

Long time death/thrash band Loudblast just put this track out as a single, and it's pretty alright! First solo could've been louder but... whatever, the rest of the song makes up for it lol.

Guess cover songs aren't allowed on Bandcamp, but at least I can link the other track on the single.

Speed/thrash metal from Australia, with a debut released in 2012. Like a mix between Sodom and Slayer's Show No Mercy, this is better than it has any right to be. Linked is the opening title track.

Modern speed/thrash metal from England that's got this real B-movie quality to em. Linked is the opening track to their first album - a midpaced speed metal anthem before actually picking the pace up a bit in the middle and end.

Found it fitting to post a Black Sabbath song coming from a Big Four band today. RIP Ozzy.

Thrash metal, with roots of crossover and dipping some into death metal. Not unlike Power Trip in some way, just minus the creative riffs. This is the title track from this EP released in 2018 from these dudes in Detroit, Michigan, USA!

Removing a lot of the thrashiness in this, one of Metallica's darker slower tracks; at this point in time they've been affected by massive success and loss all at the same time. Revisiting this track again rings a little more hollow than I remember when I was growing up. Still the same face on when listening, but the feeling behind it is disappointment rather than brooding fury - though that might just be my reflection rather than the song aging poorly lol. Perhaps I should have linked Frayed Ends of Sanity.. at least that one has more thrash and also the fun Wizard of Oz intro.

The bonus track to Voivod's probably best album. Very unique progressive tech thrash, their own style and good shit.

Crossover thrash and groovy metalcore come together in this single from Drain's latest upcoming album in November, so still quite the wait.

I like this song by Revocation very much indeed. “Nihilistic violence” is a brutal hybrid of death and thrash metal.

Take a good listen at the spectacular tempo change at 2:30. 🤩

P. S. The whole album “Netherheaven” is really worthwhile.

You don't see grindcore mixed with thrash metal all that often. I'm also not particularly familiar with grindcore either lol. There's an aggression I'm not used to here and it's pretty good imo. Vocals kinda remind me of Tom Araya from 2000 onward, but much more strained and almost as if he got his balls in a vice or something. Instruments have this sludge quality to them and the production fits it well.

Death/black metal with tidbits of thrash and speed metal from Louisiana! Goatwhore are a beast I haven't tackled quite yet, but its day will come. >:D So far, this linked track seems to be the best one that stands out immediately to me.

Testament's underrated album with those Chuck Billy growling vocals but mixed with some actual singing. Return to thrash metal with heaping amounts of groove and death after their mixed results foray into just death metal lol. Linked is the second, and best track on the record, imo.

Tidal, RateYourMusic, Encyclopaedia Metallum

Could only find the vinyl available for purchase on Nuclear Blast Records official website.

German heavy/speed/power metal from 1988! Normally I'd've posted this in !heavymetal@lemmy.world but I feel it has more in common with my other speed metal uploads.

Hear me out guys lol - give this ONE song a try! I don't recommend anything else that they've made, except for maybe the track Pain for Pleasure on a different album. I was honestly completely surprised to see a Metallica-inspired thrash metal song right smack dab in the middle of a skate punk/pop punk album lmao.

Tidal, RateYourMusic, and by gosh wouldn't you know it, not METAL enough for Metal Archives, well shucks.
