While Jitsi is open-source, most people use the platform they provide, meet.jit.si, for immediate conference calls. They have now introduced a "Know Your Customer" policy and require at least one of the attendees to log in with a Facebook, Github (Microsoft), or Google account.

If you prefer not to self-host Jitsi and be identifiable via your domain, there's jami.net as a replacement for Jitsi. It is a decentralized conference app that requires you to install an app. However, it's open-source and account creation is optional. It's available for all major platforms (Mac, Windows, Linux, iOS, Android), including on F-Droid.

Photon is the first client to have feature parity with lemmy-ui (as far as I know).

You got all the common stuff like:

• Mod tools
• Admin tools
• Resolve external objects
• Purge items
• etc...

As additions, there is:

• Multi account system
• Community and modded community sidebar
  • You can also quickly switch accounts here!
• Powerful mod tools

C'est selon moi une bonne nouvelle ! Ça serait potentiellement plus adapté pour des communautés centrées autour des images, tout en gardant une compatibilité avec Lemmy & co.

The beta for groups will release later this week, which won't be federated initially. Federation will be added afterwards.

Looks like it will have some interesting features like videos, polls, and events, as well as moderator tools like limiting what a user can do.

Le gouvernement français prépare une loi qui pourrait menacer la liberté sur Internet. Le projet de loi visant à sécuriser et réguler l’espace numérique (SREN) obligerait les navigateurs web, comme Firefox de Mozilla, à bloquer des sites web directement au niveau du navigateur. Cette mesure créerait un dangereux précédent et servirait de modèle à d’autres gouvernements pour à leur tour transformer les navigateurs en outils de censure gouvernementale.

Il est encore possible d’empêcher cela, mais le temps presse. Le gouvernement a présenté le projet de loi devant le Parlement peu avant les vacances d’été et espère l’adopter aussi rapidement et discrètement que possible ; le gouvernement a même engagé la procédure accélérée, le vote devant avoir lieu à l’automne. Ajoutez votre nom à notre pétition pour empêcher cette disposition du projet de loi d’être adoptée.
