Welcome to all who stop by. Like it says, this is a safe, supportive community for folks who are trying to quit or control their drinking, for any reason. We all have our own reasons for deciding to put down the bottle, and we're all on this trip together, so why not help each other out? Hosted some friends for a BBQ on the weekend. We're in a heat wave here in eastern Ontario, so of course the cold drinks were flowing, especially the beer. Despite seeing a couple of my former favourite local brews, I happily enjoyed my non-alcoholic choices, including a killer Vienna lager brewed right here in Brockville at 1000 Islands Brewery.

NA beers used to be such trash back in the 80s and 90s but now there are so many great options out there, and I am seriously grateful for that. I had a great time at the BBQ and enjoyed some cold ones with my friends - it doesn't get much better. Cheers!

Like it says, I haven't had a craving from a drink in a couple of years, but this week has been nothing but stress - getting sick, crazy at work, death in the family. All adding up to me spending way too much time thinking about how nice a glass or two of good whisky would be. In the end I went for a walk, played some Playstation and had a couple of Guinness 0%. Happy Friday :-)

Just wanted to mention how glad I am that Guinness 0% exists. One of the things I missed most when I decided to quit drinking was a cold pint of Guinness, especially when I'm barbecuing on the deck. Guinness 0% is every bit as tasty as the original - between that and my local brewery's excellent 0% Vienna lager, sober life is good :-). I will not drink with you today!
