Whenever I go to choose a file or folder within a flatpak application such as heroic or lutiris, it either doesn't fill the path of in the case or heroic freezes. One thing to note is in game mode I have less issues as the gtk file picker pops up instead. But in heroic I still can't select an installer for some reason.

Hey I was wondering if anyone knows how I can change the default keyboard.

I know this is a little bit odd. But I want to figure out how to add a Morse code keyboard with ideally a different button selection to kick it off.

I know the basics of Morse (it is pretty easy with Google's training website).

So without a keyboard I would like to be able to change the back 4 grip buttons to:

Top left short dash, top right long dash, bottom left control (so I can hopefully hold it or click it to use multiple keys at once), and bottom right keyboard appear and disappear.

Anyone want to help me make my goofy dream a reality?

Using the keypad on screen means having to move your hands off the controls, using the keyboard with the touch pads is kinda challenging to do quickly, and the buttons to bring up the keyboard are slightly annoying to use.

This is the best coverage of the new Deck that I've seen yet.

Upgraded:

  • 7.4" OLED HDR screen with a 90hz refresh rate and 600 nits brightness(with 1000 nits peak brightness), (old screen 7" LCD with 60hz refresh and 400 nits brightness). Touchscreen accuracy and responsiveness is reportedly improved.

  • Longer battery life. Improvements to software and hardware are supposed to increase the battery life by 30-50%. New battery is 50wh vs original 40. Original decks will see some of this improvement thanks to software/bios updates, but not as much as the new Decks. The new Deck charges faster as well, charge from 20 to 80% battery in 45 min.

  • 6E wifi module for improved wifi speed.

  • Dedicated bluetooth module, allowing better audio quality over bluetooth and the option to wake the steam deck from a bluetooth controller. Will also support more controllers at once for multiplayer.

  • Faster RAM, 6400 MT/s vs 5500 MT/s on original.

  • More repairable. The screws are now torx, and all thread into metal screw holes. Should prevent stripped screws that were the most common issues with SSD replacements.

  • New carrying case, for the 1TB model, there's an insert case inside the full size case. The insert can be pulled out and used as a slim carrying case when you don't need full protection.

  • Weighs 5% less.

Prices:

$649 - 1TB OLED

$529 - 512GB OLED

$399 - 256GB LCD

For a limited time, Valve will sell a special edition 1TB OLED with a translucent shell for $679, only in the US and Canada. Expected to sell out quickly.

Note: I'm updating this as I get more information, so the written out info will change as I learn more.

People that have the anti-glare premium screen, do you have a protector on it?

We didn't think about it too much and ended up putting a glare protector on top of our antiglare screen but I am thinking about removing it. I saw a few pictures of antiglare screen protectors but they don't look as good. Thoughts?

Are there games out there similar to how the PSP and the 3/DS had local multiplayer? Can a emudeck emulate psp games and local multiplayer?

Yuzu is crashing when I choose Vulkan instead of OpenGL. I tried it with every game and it's always the same. I cleared the cache but I got the same result...

The essence of this unconventional amalgamation lies in its absurdity. We chose the Solidigm P5336 enterprise SSD, offering a staggering 61.44TB capacity. While the capacity is amazing, it leverages an enterprise U.2 form factor, which is problematic given the Steam Deck’s M.2 slot. As such, an M.2 to external U.2 adapter from NFHK was employed as the bridge, paired with an Icy Dock enclosure to hold the drive.

Unnecessary modifications of the steam deck that make stationary? I could not resist posting this here ;) My question to all the steam deck fans out there: Would you be able to fill this 60 TB beast with games?

I need to use Microsoft Fonts since I use my Deck as a laptop replacement and I don't know how to download/install MS Fonts (preferrably MS 10/11). I don't have a MS image or CD to rip it from there :/

Also anyone can tell me the difference in performance between the white one and the blue one??

Will hopefully help the handheld performance/battery. I know I personally have been waiting for FSR 2 before really getting into BG3 on my deck.

As an odd side note, FSR 2's addition to the game wasn't mentioned in the patch notes. Also there's a negative interaction between TAA and FSR 2, so you'll have to set anti-aliasing to SMAA or disabled if you want to use FSR 2.

All you need is a decent dock and a Wi-Fi repeater with data a cable port.

Ofk, I'm on a family shared line and quite afar from the modem, so the results may definitely be better.
