Would be anti-competitive if Valve offered to get a slightly lower cut on games that play well on the deck?

Heyo everyone!

I recently convinced my dad to get homself a Steam Deck and now my mom, who until now has not shown any interest in gaming, has asked me if I could recommend her some games the she could enjoy on my dad's steam deck. I have tried finding some recommendations using Google, but since she is not very familiar with gaming, most recommendations were sure to overwhelm her... So I thought to seek the help of the hive mind now.

Previously enjoyed games: None that I remember

Preferred Genres: puzzle games, riddle games, (murder) mystery or thriller games such as graphic novels or interactive storytelling games.

Budget: not an issue

Other notes: She likes reading thrillers and murder mysteries, particularly Scandinavian ones, board games and card games, both cooperative and competitive.

Thank you for any recommendations! I have already recommended the "The Room" series to her.

So, I recently bought myself a Steam Deck Oled 512gb and after a week of playing on it for a couple of hours every day I can confidently say it's the best purchase I've made in years.

I have a lot of games in my Steam library, around 500 games, but lately I hadn't felt like playing anything other than a few online games. Sitting at my desk and trying to focus on plots or walls of text just exhausts me. Maybe I just stopped feeling truly relaxed while gaming.

But SD changed that. Honestly, I can say it cured my so-called gaming impotence. Now I'm excited to try games I used to completely ignore. It feels like rediscovering my love for gaming. Just like back in my school days, when I'd rush home excited to start playing something.

Right now I'm playing Ys Vlll: Lacrimosa of Dana and it's one of the most engaging games I've played in a long time. I can't wait to dive into even more titles on the SD soon!

100% do not recommend this game on deck. Even on lowest settings it barely plays at 20 FPS. Upscaling looks AWFUL as well. I’m gonna save this one for my actual rig so as not to ruin what is actually a very fun and pretty game. Do NOT buy this game solely to play it on deck. You’re a going to be very disappointed.

I spent several hours tinkering with the settings and couldn’t for the life of me find a setting combo that ran smooth consistently. It just all Looks so bad. Web swinging through New York is supposed to be immersive and fun and it’s just not on Deck.
