One day an up and coming tv newscaster gets pressed into playing a part in a variety show, and as he's arguing with its writer he has an accident. Next thing he knows he can't hold back saying what's on his mind.

From there he finds himself confiding in and working with the writer to try to figure out how to work with his new condition. Gradually they fall for one another, and to his surprise he remains and becomes even more successful than he was before.

It's a pretty charming show with an interesting angle on the stresses of socially masking to make one's way through life.

There's the Before trilogy and then Training Day all taking place in a single day.

There's also Rachel Mcadams and her affinity with Time Travel.

Anyway, what did you guys think about the movie? Especially the ending?

Finished this awhile ago and enjoyed it a lot. It felt different from other thrillers I've seen as the suspect was more bold and eclectic. The inspector is sort of your usual eccentric type, but she plays it up well and has a good backstory to ground her.

Also I can't get over how much I enjoy the soundtrack. It's a great mixture of styles that all complement the show fantastically. The song Up (3:12) in particular is great even apart from the show. However I think it was Collapse (4:18) that really drove me to give the soundtrack more attention.

Highly recommend checking out the show and soundtrack.

Be warned, this video spoils much of the show, so I would highly recommend watching the show first, it's VERY good.

I fell for the cover art's goofiness with this one, and I'm happy I did. It's a quirky show about a small town veterinarian that suddenly finds herself with psychic powers after treating an animal one night and being "hit" by a falling star.

However her powers only work by touching the butt of other animals...And people.

This leads to all manner of silly situations and it's a pretty fun watch. It also has an undercurrent of a thriller at play that does a pretty decent job at keeping it interesting. Although if you're the overthinking type it's not too hard to pick out what's going on, but it's also not too bad at trying to keep you guessing.

im halfway through the netflix series evil. 2 of 4 seasons...

i dont know ill be able to finish it.

it started strong as an xfiles moster-of-the-week but damn the writing is so incredibly poor. im so confused.. how can something with such strong actors... amazing effects.. just be utter garbage.

imdb reviews are wall to wall 'its great but the children'. these reviews were written by the delusional. the kids are the least of the problem with the series. i suspect most reviews were written watching season 1 only.. when there was hope of pulling up from the nosedive that the series was clearly in.

the main characters are so poorly written it removes any caring about what happens to them next. entirely unbelievable and with episode amnesia. i just dont give a shit if they all get hit by a train.

there is almost no continuity between episodes despite each one being written as if it needs it. dont even attempt trying to find a seasonal arc. its like every episode was written with new writers with no knowledge of the series to that point. seemingly huge plot points are never resolved and never discussed ever again.

but it has great monsters... imagined real, human or not. its the one strong point is that it can be freakin scary and the evil is as infuriating as it should be. unfortunately no one ever wins or comes out ahead. they always lose. there are no bright points. there is no hope.

i think the point of evil is that evil has won and the world has lost, especially the viewers.

I'm still not sure what I think of it, but it kept my attention. The basic premise is somewhat strange, where basically they spin national court (pseudo-Supreme Court?) cases into a media circus and ask the people across the country to vote on the verdicts.

The lead judge begins turning this against big business leaders and others ramping up the series as it goes along.

He and his rival are constantly portrayed as eerily sociopathic, which makes it all the more captivating. They also happen to have, in my opinion, some great costuming for both of them.

Not much more to say about it. It's a nice, light show to watch between heavier shows.

Some sad moments but mostly a sweet, fun story for the first season.
