Are they running those bots to create a constant float of content? After all it is reddit who benefits the most from repost bots.

The goal would be to keep posting the same content which is known to create a lot of volume in term of comments and then create a custom API specially designed to train the AI's of their customers.

To me the Eldorado in term of monetization for Reddit is to sell reddit as a playfield for AI's, and for this you need a good API. Needless to say that I've overwritten all my comments before deleting them, I won't feed an AI.

I usually don't get too salty about these things, but that seemed uncalled for, especially since I'm on their side.

Once a vibrant community, with posts and memes galore,
Reddit was the place to be, with subs that we adore.
But then one fateful day, the news began to spread,
The API was closing down, Reddits's end was ahead.

The moderators were the first to go, they couldn't do their work,
Without the API, they were lost, they couldn't fix the quirks.
The content creators followed suit, they packed their bags and left,
They said goodbye to Reddit, and we all felt quite bereft.

But little did we know, there was a shining star,
A platform on the Fediverse, called Lemmy, wasn't far.
It had everything we needed, and more, to keep us going strong,
We found a new community, and we knew we couldn't go wrong.

The conversations flowed, and the posts began to rise,
We shared our thoughts and feelings, with no fear of prying eyes.
The moderators were happy, they could do their job with ease,
And the content creators smiled, they had a platform to please.

So Reddit may have died, but we moved on and grew,
We found a new home on Lemmy, and we knew just what to do.
We share our love and knowledge, with others from far and wide,
And we knew that we had found, a place where we could thrive.

Seems like API access will become monetized (like Twitter did it). This will probably kill off most third party apps if users are forced into subscriptions (see for example statement from Apollo)

The fuck is OP's problem? He cooked for himself, not you; and he didnt pester you to cook.

Also, naan bread requires cooking… so either he cooked it or ordered it. Either way, who cares?

The filter folder automatically filters inbound modmail messages that are likely to contain harassment. These messages will skip the inbox and go directly to a Filtered folder.

The intention of the Filtered folder is to give mods the option to avoid and/or use additional precautions with messages that are harassing.

In the folder, mods will have the ability to move a conversation to the regular modmail inbox by selecting the Unfliter option. Likewise a mod can move any conversation to the Filtered folder with the Filter Conversation option. Once a conversation has been marked/unmarked as Filtered it will stay in the inbox that was manually selected by the mod. Please note that when replying to fIltered messages, those messages will be treated as if they were manually unfiltered, and replies will continue to populate your standard inbox.

The filter will be defaulted on for new communities, and defaulted off for existing communities. To turn it on or off:

Open Mod Tools on new Reddit desktop
Click on Community settings
Click on Safety & Privacy
Toggle Modmail filtered folder to on/off

Please note that currently, our model does not identify non-English messages. We will be adding non-English support in the future.

Also know that when we get things wrong – you can give us quick feedback by:

Reporting the message for harassment (if it should have been filtered but it wasn’t)
Moving the message to the filtered inbox (again – this is if it should have been filtered but it wasn’t)
Moving the message from the filtered inbox to regular inbox (this is if it should not have been filtered and it was).

We will continue to strive to improve features, but we can’t guarantee it will perform perfectly all the time. Your feedback here really helps make a difference in making this feature better and better.
