Rebellion, Not Retreat

The common feature of all totalitarian systems is the prohibition of questions: Every totalitarian regime first monopolizes what counts as rationality and determines what questions you are allowed to ask.

At the risk of offending my audience, I will suggest: If you don’t see that precisely this is happening on an unprecedented scale globally, you have not been paying close attention. https://www.theepochtimes.com/rebellion-not-retreat_5376123.html

The Oath: A Warrior's Core Belief

When swearing an oath, it’s not just to the country, but also to your fellow man. It’s an oath sworn to your brothers and sisters in the service, an oath sworn to your brothers and sisters in law enforcement.

Those of us who take this oath to heart acknowledge that it never expires as long as we live. https://www.theepochtimes.com/the-oath-a-warriors-core-belief_5370551.html

In the article, titled, “Ketanji Brown Jackson's ancestors were enslaved. Her husband's were enslavers,” the enslaved ancestors of the Justice and slave owning ancestors of her husband were revealed.

“When John Greene, believed to be an ancestor of Supreme Court Justice Ketanji Brown Jackson, got off a schooner from Trinidad in Charleston, S.C., he was immediately enslaved and dispatched to a plantation, according to family lore. When John Howland, the 10th-great-grandfather of Jackson's husband, Patrick Jackson, disembarked the Mayflower at Plymouth, Mass., he was given housing and several acres,” The Washington Post wrote.

The Post continued to lay out the couple’s parallel histories dating back over 100 years.

“Ketanji Brown Jackson, one of the country's nine most powerful legal arbiters, tracks her family history through generations of enslavement and coercive sharecropping. Patrick Jackson, a gastrointestinal surgeon in D.C., counts among his ancestors King Edward I of England, four Mayflower passengers and a signer of the U.S. Constitution.”

The paper cited Christopher C. Child, senior genealogist with the New England Historic Genealogical Society in Boston, who found that Patrick Jackson’s “great-great-great-great grandfather Peter Chardon Brooks was the richest man in New England when he died, having made his fortune insuring ships, including some involved in the slave trade.”

In addition, the article explained, “Patrick was raised outside Boston, but his maternal grandfather's ancestors lived in the South. Based on public slave schedules from 1850 and 1860, Child estimates the family owned about 189 enslaved people at the time. ‘Every male ancestor of Patrick's maternal grandfather over the age of 21 alive in 1850 or 1860 was a slaveowner,' Child said. One of his ancestors was also a Confederate soldier.”

‘Kissinger’s Betrayal’: New Book Explains Why South Vietnam Fell

While Kissinger rightfully has been faulted before, Young provided detailed historical documents as “smoking guns” for his argument that Kissinger betrayed Nixon, U.S. Ambassador to South Vietnam Ellsworth Bunker, and South Vietnamese President Nguyen Van Thieu. This perfidy set the stage for the success of the North Vietnamese conquest of South Vietnam in April 1975. It occurred on May 31, 1971, during his secret negotiations with North Vietnamese leadership when Kissinger made a major military concession that, while the United States would withdraw from South Vietnam, it wouldn’t require North Vietnam to withdraw its forces.

The RNC’s debate plans have a major, largely unnoticed problem

As the 51-day qualifying period begins on Saturday, a review of FiveThirtyEight’s database of GOP primary polling nationally and in the four early “carve out” states shows that only two polls out of 70 conducted in the previous 51 days would meet those requirements.

While it’s a good bet that there will be at least three qualifying polls conducted between now and the Aug. 21 deadline, the RNC’s criteria could spell trouble for candidates outside of the five polling leaders: former President Donald Trump, Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis, former Vice President Mike Pence, former South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley and Sen. Tim Scott (R-S.C.).

Interesting lines from 'the Socialist Phenomenon' (1975):

The word "socialism" often implies two quite different phenomena:

    1. A doctrine and an appeal based on it, a program for changing life, and
    1. A social structure that exists in time and space.

The most obvious examples include Marxism as contained in the "classic" writings of Marx and others and the social structure that exists in the U.S.S.R. and the People's Republic of China. Among the fundamental principles of the state doctrine in these countries is the assertion that the connection between the two phenomena is very simple. On the one hand, it is asserted, there is a scientific theory which proves that after achieving a definite level in the development of productive forces, mankind will pass over to a new historic formation; this theory points the way to the most rational paths for such a transition. And on the other hand, we are assured, there is the embodiment of this scientific prognosis, its confirmation. As an example of quite a different point of view we cite H. G. Wells, who visited Russia in 1920 and, though infected by the worship of socialism, fashionable then as now, nevertheless almost instinctively refused to accept Marxism, in this sense reflecting the antipathy toward all scholastic theories typical of an Englishman. In his book Russia in the Shadows, Wells writes: "Marxist Communism has always been a theory of revolution, a theory not merely lacking in creative and constructive ideas but hostile to creative and constructive ideas." (1: p. 60) He describes the communism that governed Russia as "... in so many matters like a conjurer who has left his pigeon and his rabbit behind him and can produce nothing whatever from the hat." (1: p. 64)

From this point of view, Marxism does not set itself any goal other than that of preparing for the seizure of power. The state system established as a result is therefore defined and shaped by the necessity of holding power. Since these tasks are entirely different, the official theory and the actual implementation have nothing in common.

In a sense, he is suggesting that whatever theories may exist in Marxism that may even include truth values are absolutely irrelevant because the real purpose of it is the seizure of power, and the socialism that goes forward after this is completely different than that which is theorized.

A massive theory / praxis divide, if you will.

I am just starting the book so I am not completley positive as to where any of this is going to go but def. worth sharing, IMO, and worth your feedback.

Disney’s She-Hulk star Mark Ruffalo is pleading with his followers to “organize the vote” after the U.S. Supreme Court overturning affirmative action in college admissions, and in a separate ruling, struck down President Joe Biden’s student loan forgiveness plan, ending a $430 billion debt write-off that critics said had been a midterm election gimmick Biden knew was unconstitutional.

“Okay. So we all understand that the Supreme Court has become a right-wing ideological political institution under Alito, Thomas, Gorsuch, Barrett, Kavanaugh, & Roberts. They’re for sale & illegitimate. Now, we have to beat them in the executive branch & the legislature,” Ruffalo tweeted on Saturday.

Fmr. Trump Press Secretary: I watched him show documents to people at Mar-a-Lago

Stephanie Grisham, former Trump White House Press Secretary and Communications Director, joins Alex Witt to discuss new reports that Trump's 2024 campaign aide Susie Wiles has been identified as the key witness in classified docs indictment and why the former president's lack of respect for classified information is so dangerous. "I watched him show documents to people at Mar-a-Lago on the dining room patio," Grisham says. "He has no respect for classified information [and] never did."

Former Vice President Mike Pence is just returning from Ukraine, being the first presidential candidate to pay a visit to the war-torn U.S. ally, but he expressed "pride" for the landmark Supreme Court decisions this week.

"Like every other conservative American, I couldn't be more proud of this new conservative majority on the Supreme Court of the United States," Pence told Newsmax host Tom Basile in an interview that aired Sunday.

Pence said he interviewed all the candidates for the Supreme Court during the Trump administration and advised former President Donald Trump on the conservative nominees that ultimately provided the deciding votes on three landmark cases this week.

Investment honcho Larry Fink is attracting outrage from conservatives for an old admission that his firm would "force behaviors" on diversity, equity, and inclusion standards amid pushback on companies setting similar goals.

"Behaviors are gonna have to change, and this is one thing we're asking companies. You have to force behaviors, and at BlackRock we are forcing behaviors," Fink said in a 2017 video interview with the New York Times.

BlackRock Inc., the world's largest asset manager, with shares in companies like Amazon, Apple, MasterCard, Johnson & Johnson, Walmart ,and Walt Disney Co., bragged in the 2017 interview about adding "4 more points of diverse employment.”

"What we're doing internally is if you don't achieve these levels of impact, your compensation could be impacted," Fink said in the interview video.

"You have to force behaviors. If you don't force behaviors, whether it's gender or race or just any way you want to say the composition of your team, you're going to be impacted. That not just recruiting, it's development," Fink said. "We're gonna have to force change."

The video circulated on social media after resurfacing online, Fox News reported, with Sen. J.D. Vance, R-Ohio, tweeting on Monday that BlackRock is "destroying value and are engaged in illegal and immoral conduct."

"There are two schools of thought within the GOP on BlackRock. The old guard thinks they're creating value and need to be rewarded with tax cuts," the message stated. "I think they're destroying value and are engaged in illegal and immoral conduct. They need to be dealt with accordingly."

Biden vs. Trump: The 2024 race a historic number of Americans don't want either | CNN Politics

Neither Trump nor Biden are anywhere near positive territory this cycle, and we’re not talking about one outlier poll.

The average of all polling so far indicates that both men have favorable ratings below 40% with unfavorable ratings into the mid-50s.
