My young cousin is big into planes and is in a flight club, he really wants that specific simulator. Does anyone know where I could get the full version from?

I'm trying to download Many Sides of Jane. All the torrents I can find are dead, and while I tried StreamFab and KeepStreams, both of them said they wouldn't work because of DRM (and I thought DRM circumvention was the whole reason they exist!) How can I get this show?

P.S. It's on philo.com with a free 7 day trial.

I’d like to prioritize bandwidth for trackers where ratio is hard and de-prioritize trackers where almost everything is freeleech. Is there a way to do this?

I had a Youtube Subscription mainly for using Youtube Music since last year. I used to be on Newpipe before that. However, the mobile app always made be feel uneasy. From not being able to choose system wide video quality for all Youtube videos at once[ seriously, there is like 'High' or 'Data Saver' only and explicit options are available per videos only ] to Youtube nudging me to purchase/join a Youtuber's membership channel really irked me [I just paid you, Youtube ; why are you constantly asking me to pay more for something I don't want? Why can't I disable those notifications ?]

I have some time remaining on my subscription but converted to Tubular [Newpipe fork with Sponsorblock] simply because it doesn't treat it's end users like trash. Even for YTM, I switched to Revanced version which offered endless customization. I could hide useless stuff like cast, share buttons to even functions in the Account tab. The granular control was so much that I was able to get a simplistic neat looking UI setup.

In the transition, I understand, I lose some of my playlists [under a throwaway Google account since I don't wish to risk my main one getting banned] but I understand that the only true way anyone controls their music[or any form of data is by truly owning them and streaming services don't allow that]. It might sound stupid, but I have been downloading music from Soulseek for some time and now just plan to transfer some of my favorites over to the SD card.

It was never a money problem. It was an experience problem. I paid money to Google and all I got was Shorts, Games and other stuff I didn't wanted. I never got customization or fine grained controls. The open source community offers that. Sorry for the long rant.

While trying to find a torrent for a show, I became curious about how others are creating the torrents I know and love. Is ripping a video from a streaming service relatively easy? Are there tools y'all would recommend?

Don't you hate it when that game you used to play, vanishes from your library? Or what if you download it, but it doesn't work anymore because it's a single-player with an online only DRM. Or you're waiting for the DENUVO crack, but it never comes and the games goes EOL and forgotten? Well, turns out someone had enough and decided to start a campaign for it. If you pay for media, you may want this. If you like it free, someone needs to crack first it, and that doesn't always happen. So you may want this too.

Spread the message. If you're European, seriously consider voting. We don't own digital movies, and if we don't put a stop to this, more games will follow. Make the pirate party proud.

One day many years ago I had too many drinks and being stupid and naive and I bought adobe cs5. I still use it on the same computer I installed it a decade ago. Activated and installed only once. Today they revoked the access to it. Clicking the link they say "revoked because purchased from an untrustworthy reseller"

Yeah... untrustworthy reseller, look at the invoice and see who sold&shipped that physical copy...

sold by adobe themselves

Contacted support, they said that they won't do anything about it because it's EOL.

Moral of the story: don't do like me. If buying isn’t owning, piracy isn’t stealing. Never give your money to Adobe.

I feel this is kind of a dumb question but I can't find a solution that's working for me:

every now and then I have the need to rip copy protected dvds. In the past I have used Handbrake with libdvdcss. But now there only seems to be flatpak versions of Handbrake for linux and these versions can't access the libdvdcss library.

VLC should be able to do the job but for a specific dvd I wnt to rip now, I produces out-of-sync video/audio tracks and I haven't been able to succeed.

I can't believe ripping dvd's can be that hard. Do I miss something obvious? Any tips are appreciated, aside from just download it - I can't find the respective media anywhere...

All the principled pirates have jumped ship to lemmy so it was bound to happen sooner than later.

Mine is 186GiB. I have about 100 movies and 3 TV series on a two hard disks (one for backup). I don't know if that is small or large.

How big is your collection?
