Red Hat linux piracy? (lemmy.dbzer0.com)
submitted 2 years ago* (last edited 2 years ago) by Nimous@lemmy.dbzer0.com to c/piracy@lemmy.dbzer0.com

I have a fedora but I'm curious about Red Hat Enterprise Linux because they say fedora is a community version of red hat. I pirated Windows in years and it's really easy but is there any way to crack RHEL? I know it's not magical and I can use a free distro and have anything I need but for the sake of curiosity I need to try red hat linux and test it to find out how much effort they put on an enterprise product. I also know that there is a trial version or something but it's good for me to learn cracking that (if it's possible) because my future possibilities.

So please don't tell me that doing this is not necessary or get the trial version, just be kind and provide what you know about pirating RedHat Enterprise Linux.

I would argue that there are a few ways this phrase can be inverted:

No rights reserved

Implies that the author waives all rights to his/her work (i.e. ultimately places it in the public domain)

All rights included

I've seen this one in the context of royalty-free music being used in the commercial sense, where if you pay for the license, you can use that song anytime anywhere, with all rights to the song. This seems to be the opposite of "All rights reserved" which we should know by now what it means

Copyleft

While not really a phrase, it is the opposite of copyright itself. Used primarily in software but maybe some other media can also be considered copyleft. As far as I'm aware, it has some ties with copyright itself (that you cannot remove attribution from the author, and, in case of software, must distribute it as is, without putting any restrictions yourself)

There are probably more means other than what I've listed, and I would love to hear your thoughts and suggestions!

Hello! I have some q's about torrenting as the title implies. First, I know that torrenting requires a VPN capable of P2P, but i cant afford a vpn with such capabilities. is there any free ones available?

Second, if i end up being able to do so, where should i torrent from? i've heard of the pirate bay but honestly that's it.

Third, what is the best torrent client to use for this?

any help would be appreciated, thank you and good day comrades comrade-doggo

Hello all!

I have been out of the piracy game since a little before mullvad lost port-forwarding; I know these things are ever changing, and to my understanding ivpn is a good bet at this moment in time.

I was wondering what everyone else has been using. As well as if anyone has tried the gui client for ivpn either built from source or the AUR build(I do use arch btw).

I am open to any vpn client that has a good reputation in the community, and build-able from a repository; A gui is preferred but not necessary, and absolutely NO account creation (Except for generic account numbers of course).

Thanks in advance for anyone who takes the time to answer.

I just wanted to thank this community for the many before it where I learned the way. I'm new to lemmy/fediverse but i have been lurking among the other sailors for over 10 years and have amassed a 25 TB library of content for my family and I. I started on a repurposed core2duo workstation running a headless xbmcbuntu install with a forced dns release every hour to a fully automated system on a dedicated server with redundancy on jbod. This project/habit/way of life has been with me through being single then married, through college text book treasures and now as a father and i can provide everyone with the content they want without 20 subscriptions. The people in this place and the many like it are heros. Thank you.

If this was an old Android game it would only be a matter of downloading the APK I guess?

I only have an iPad from the 7th generation in its latest OS version, MacBook Pro with Big Sur and an Android phone.

I resort in piracy for this kind of needs (or emulation), since this is an old game and Jailbreak is pretty much dead am I out of luck this time?

I wrote a little essay a few ago about pirating games on SteamDeck, I am not sur it is allowed here. I didn't saw any rules against. If it is feel free to pm me I will remove my post. Hope this help other with low budget.

No need get window. You need somes tools though.

From the stock app market (called discover) :

  • Transmission
  • Lutris
  • ProtonUp-QT to install ProtonGE

From GitHub:

  • Decky (and the addon SteamGridDB)

On desktop mode.

I download my games as torrent from dodirepack or fitgirl with the software transmission(from stock appshop).

Once I have a game I use Lutris(from stock appshop) to execute the installer. Install games on :Z Wich is the steals file system.

Then I add the game to steam on desktop mode.

I set the compatibility in the game options mode on proton or protonGE.

And I rename the game to their steamid to be able to search for contrôler config. (Find steam game I'd on the site SteamDB)

In game mode

I then setup images for the games with the addon SteamGridDB installed from Decky (and addon loader for steamdeck)

If I have trouble running game I use protonGE which I installed with ProtonUp-QT (from stock appshop)

I bought a refurbished steam deck finally and am thinking about what my ahem acquisition workflow will be. This is what I'm thinking from my past experience daily driving Linux (arch btw):

For Linux native games, easy - just torrent it and/or install it and play.

For Windows:

  • For game file dumps, add the .exe in Steam as a non-steam game and run it with proton.
  • For setup installations (repacks etc.), run the setup.exe with wine, install to a location, then do the same as above.

For any issues with the above, try installation scripts from Lutris and review protonDB and wineHQ to troubleshoot.

Is there an easier way I'm missing?

Edit: Will also check Bottles. Apparently you can use Heroic launcher to install setup.exes? If true I'll try that also.

I currently would record with obs, but this requires to stop at the right time and my mouse cursor is visible at the beginning. Do you have some tips for recording?

As per the title, I downloaded this game, have added it to my Gatekeeper exemption and disabled SIP and all that, and even though it's added to Steam as a non-Steam game, all I get when it loads is a message saying "Steam not found, please start through Steam client".

Does anyone have any ideas?

hello fellow sailers , hope you're having a nice day , a few months back i switched to arch linux because my computer has good ram but not that good gpu , but now i would like to play some og games like portal 2 , portal 1 , inscryption etc from fitgirl repacks and i have scoured through many guides but nothing just works , too complicated. can't there be a simple guide with preferably images or something like that (like a website /blog maybe?) I would really appreciate that since many of my friends may like to join linux ship but they are pirates like me as well who wouldn't be able to play games on linux. #Fitgirl-repacks,#Linux

After my last post on here asking about convenient streaming options at higher resolutions, I got a few comments recommending Stremio with Torrentio and Real Debrid.

I ended up going through with that and streamed a 4k movie. That said, what's the catch? I'm a little paranoid because I'm not sure if this still counts as torrenting, and if I should be using a VPN while watching something from RD.

No such thing as free lunch, so I'm assuming there's other downsides to this solution, could someone let me know what they are?

How to pirate PowerAmp? (lemmy.dbzer0.com)
submitted 2 years ago* (last edited 2 years ago) by Nimous@lemmy.dbzer0.com to c/piracy@lemmy.dbzer0.com

I want to use Poweramp full version on my phone but all cracked versions I find aren't actually cracked but just regular poweramp trial. I even found an app called poweramp full version unlocker that actually unlocks poweramp but poweramp checks the licence from google play and if it can't connect to internet or get the licence verification it locks the app and I can't use it.

How to pirate this software?

2874

I'm using the above software by Sphinx Software, it's an active firewall noticing me on every event. It's ok but it's lagging my OS. Do you have any alternative you could suggest? Maybe an open-source one? (the WFC10 is a paid one btw)

Also, anyone know what is up lemmy.fmhy.net being down? Found about this checking discuit.net of all places.

This was posted like 12 hours ago on reddit. 1 hour ago on discuit. So quite some time has passed for this to show up here. Never used filecr so had to look it up and it was recommended to people in the past on reddit, so seems potentially concerning.

FileCR Malware So far, malware has been found in the following cracks, but it is likely it is undiscovered in many more downloads because of how large their catalog is.

Found Malware in: KMS Matrix, Windows Activator by GoDaddy and Stardock Star11.
