As the title suggests, the IPTV service 4kiptv.tv sites are no longer working. Either they pulled the plug themselves or were getting shut down.

Either way, I've tried a handful of other "4k" providers but the 4kiptv.tv seemed the best. Anyone have a good rec on the best iptv provider with lots of 4k content?

Checking out Stremio, coming from Kodi. Can't see any obvious working suggestions for live sports or replay add-ons.

Help a brother out please 🙏

Hi people, since we see more and more complaints regarding old movies being not politically correct anymore, I am getting more and more concerned about some purchases I made some years ago. Specifically, there is a set of local movies in my mother tongue which I bought and therefore want to download them in case they are removed/changed later on. How can I do that?

Linux cmdline tools preferred, sharing is no consideration, so I am not concerned about digital fingerprints.

Looking for a way to get audiobooks to listen to. Preferably in a format compatible with Apple Books app.

I have been trying to use PollyMc but I can't really figure it out. So I launched minecraft after adding an offline account but it doesn't seem to work after closing the launcher and opening minecraft again. If I have internet it starts to download some library files again and then it does launch minecraft. Do I have to download these files every time I launch minecraft? Could someone point me to a guide or something?

Edit: The Launcher seems to have fixed itself.

What I did.

  1. Import an old instance in PollyMC
  2. Update it's version (Right click on the instance > Edit > Version then click on change version)
  3. Then I launched it online. That downloaded libraries to run minecraft. (Not sure I needed them or not.)
  4. Closed PollyMc and then launching offline wouldn't work.

But now it works again magically, both with and without connected to internet.

I'm curious how you have automated/optimized your workflows for downloading, saving, archiving media.

For instance:

  1. On my laptop I download an epub into a folder that Calibre watches.
  2. Calibre copies and imports that epub into the Calibre library and removes the old epub.
  3. Calibre Library is hooked up to SyncThing, which passes the epub to my eReader.

My workflow is probably not the most efficient, but I'm hoping I can be inspired by people's approaches.

What is the most useless app that you have seen being given as a subscription?

For me, I tried a 'minimalist' launcher app for Android that had a 7 day trial or something and they had a yearly subscription based model for it. I was aghast. I would literally expect the app to blow my mind and do everything one can assume to go that way. In a world, where Nova Launcher (Yes, I know it has been acquired by Branch folks but it still is a sturdy one) or Niagara exist plus many alternatives including minimalist ones on F Droid, the dev must be releasing revolutionary stuff to factor in a subscription service.

Second, is a controversial choice, since it's free tier is quite good and people like it so much. But, Pocketcasts. I checked it's yearly price the other day, and boy, in my country, I can subscribe to Google Play Pass, YouTube Premium and Spotify and still have money left before I hit the ceiling what Pocketcasts is asking for paid upgrade.

Also, what are your views on one time purchase vs subscriptions? Personally, I find it much easier to purchase, if it's good enough even if it was piratable, something if it is a one time purchase rather than repetitive.

TL-DR; for stuff that is NOT from sonarrr/radrr (e.g. downloaded long time ago / gotten from friends, RSS feeds, whatever), is there a better way to find subs than downloading everything from manual DDL sites and trying everything until one works (matching english text and correctly synced)?

I am not currently using bazarr and I understand that it can catch anything from sonarr that is missing subs but that is not the use-case I need. I am still open to it but since most of the new stuff I get already has subs, I'm looking more at my stuff that is NOT coming from sonarr bc that's where I have the most missing subs. thinking since there github say:

Be aware that Bazarr doesn't scan disk to detect series and movies: It only takes care of the series and movies that are indexed in Sonarr and Radarr."

that most of my use-case is going to be manual searches. It also sounds like Bazarr uses same kind of DDL sites like opensubtitles and subscene that I am already using as its backend / source so curious if there is any advantage vs looking up old stuff on the sites directly.

And especially if there is some way to match existing files with the correct subs, even if the file/folder names no longer contain the release group (e.g. via duration or other mediainfo data or maybe even via checksums). I know vlc can do it for a single file.. but since I have a LOT of stuff w missing subs, I'm looking for a way that I can do something similar from a bash script or some other bulk job without getting a bunch of unsynced subs.

Hey, fellow pirates!

I rent seedbox at whatbox and want to share it's content over people from soulseek. I've tried checking whatbox interface but haven't found any such option.

Does anyone knows if it's possible at all and if so, how to do that?

Where do you find large collections of hi res art? Old masterpieces and more modern pieces? Extra points if I can find stashes of hi res versions of NFTs that other people were silly enough to buy.

I just checked out Twitch again after a while and WOW has that site gotten shitty. But I'm trying to watch someone and really don't want ads every few minutes. Instead of paying Bezos to remove half the ads, how can I configure my uBlock Origin to block them all for free?

I didn't see this in the megathread but found this source. Seems to be regularly updated.

Is this already on the megathread and was I too stupid to find it?

I am sure I am just missing something simple... I have prowlarr -> sonarr/radarr -> qbittorrent -> jellyfin I created three directories. /jelly/video /sonarr /radarr. I configured sonarr and radar to use their respective directories. And I configured qbittorrent to use /jelly/video as the default download dir.

But what seems to be happening is that if I download a movie, it ends up in both /radarr and /jelly/video. And then if I delete it from /jelly/video it doesn't seed for others.

What am I missing here?

Looking for some advice on my journey to expand my local storage. Currently, I have a mini PC running my Arr setup with Plex and I have an external enclosure with a HDD connected through USB. I can reliably push 4K to my Android TV. This is the system's only use and purpose.

I need to continue to be able to Hardlink files so that I can seed back while Arr programs are sorting and renaming for Plex.

I'm not too concerned with a file backup solution or relying on this setup for sharing important files across my home network.

Would a DAS be sufficient for this? Is there any reason I should avoid this and invest in a NAS solution?

Hi, I seek your help once again. I'm in the need of upgrading my storage now and I found what I consider to be a good deal via Amazon on an older gen enterprise WD drive that supposedly hasn't been used, but I'll let the power on hours tell me the truth. The price is about 16usd/TB and I'm wondering if this is a bad idea due to the age of the drive? I'm guessing the drive would be about 10 years old maybe. The plan would be to buy 2: 1 for my cold media backups and the other would be a backup for the cold media backup.
