Does anyone know if Defacto2 is legit? I've never heard one of those sites before they preserve all NFOs and cracktros.

The images on the left don't seem to be loading and all I'm seeing weird 'bouncing' or glitching that sometimes extends to the torrents in the middle of the page too.

It's been like that for hours on my end.

I paid for Puzzle Quest 2 on android like a decade+ ago. It is a local single-player game. It has a validation check when you open the app. That check fails because this game is ancient and the servers are offline.

I want to replay the game I paid for. I have the APK from an APK site. It's even been pulled from steam to push their crappy p2w pq3. Anyone have tricks to crank an APK and bypass a server check? I've decompiled the APK but am in a bit over my head.

When I google it it says it was released on HBO Max but I can't find it anywhere

EDIT: apparently its only available on HBO Max Latin America and Cartoon Network Latin America. Is it possible for someone to use a vpn to download it from the hbo site? How do people rip videos from a website like hbo?

Having gradually built up my media collection to near the capacity of my 16TB external HDD, I've reached the point where I'll probably need to build a RAID array to keep the collection in one place. Assuming the RAID array will be at least 32TB, I have a few questions:

  1. From what I've read RAID arrays can help mitigate the risk of individual drives failing if extra space is allotted on the hard drives. Assuming a total capacity of 32TB, how much of that space would be reserved by the RAID array for data loss prevention?

  2. Is there a certain type of hard drive I would have to use? Aside from my 16TB drive, I also have two 2 8TB drives that I'd ideally like to be able to re-use in the RAID array, but have left them in their enclosures for the time being.

  3. If the hard drives in the array have different transfer speeds, does the array as a whole default to the slowest one?

  4. Whether the hard drives I already have are compatible or not, what RAID enclosure and hard drives would you recommend?

AirVPN is also based out of Italy right? I wonder what will eventually happen for AirVPN which is highly recommended after Mullvad VPN closed their port forwarding offer.

I’m using a dedicated PC running Ubuntu and using CasaOS manage the applications I need. I’ve been able to get Nicotine+ and other clients installed without issue but curious if folks have a setup that has just Soulseek going through a VPN? I don’t think I want 100% of my servers traffic going though the VPN (namely Plex), and would like to have Soulseek on this box so all my music stays in one place making it easier to share. Open it alternatives here.

I guess the broader question might be, how are people using a VPN with Soulseek, while also sharing files from locally hosted source? I could put Soulseek on another machine with a VPN but then it wouldn’t be able to see the local only shared folders.

Let's say i download an iso for my latest favourite distro and, after unpacking the rar (usenet) i find the right contents but all the filenames are a bunch of hexadecimal strings. The files are legit, but how do i "decode" the names to know which one is file n.1, file n.2 and so on?

Probably a stupid question, but when signing up for an IPTV service, do you give real details? If not, how do you make them up?! Or do they require real details?

let's say I'm torrenting a movie, and the torrent is downloading faster than the movie would play, is there any software that can handle a constantly changing file? thanks

edit: basically as long as you tell your torrent client to download sequentially, VLC (and probably most other video players) can just play the file like normal. though as one user pointed out, this may affect dl speeds.

I have jellyfin with the radarr/sonarr/prowlarr combo going. I can "heart" things in jellyfin. But it's recommendations are only things I already have downloaded. I see discovery in radarr, but no way to tell it if the movies I downloaded were good or bad. So I must be missing something.

I downloaded the movie ISS. It has some add for a website overlaid on top of the movie, and even ads in the middle. Is there a way to report it or something. I couldn't even get qbittorrent to tell me where it came from.

[How-To] Install and Setup Forza Horizon 5 in Steamdeck

Post is for people who's having hard time setting this up. There are plenty of posts out there (mostly in reddit) but missing some steps, so I decided to give this a try on what has worked for me.

  1. Download game version 1.405.2.0 cracked by Empress
  1. Add the setup.exe as a non-steam game and proceed with installation
  2. Once completed, add the ForzaHorizon5.exe as a non-steam game and force compatability to use Proton GE
  3. If it's not yet downloaded, use ProtonUp-qt to install Proton GE
  4. Download Goldberg emulator files
  • (primary) mr_goldberg.gitlab.io SLASH goldberg_emulator
  • (backup) archive.md SLASH hyYxh
  1. Unzip file then copy all dll from /experimental folder to game folder. Backup original DLLs before proceeding.
  2. If steam_appid.txt is present, edit and keep it empty. Otherwise, create this file with no contents or just delete it.
  3. Play game in Gaming mode
  4. Enjoy

I used to have RARBG in sonarr and everything worked beautifully. Since they shut down my indexers sometimes don't find the available torrents. The only one that kind of works is piratebay. I like the torrentlite website but I've been waiting for it to appear in the list of indexers in jackett. Is there any way for me to add torrentlite to jackett?

I have bought a font with a really shitty license agreement and I have a couple of questions.

  1. How can I best share the font with the community? (I am afraid of metadata in the font files, which may be tied to my payment account etc. - I had to register and log in to download the ttf files)

  2. How can I remove the DSIG and other metadata from the ttf file while keeping it usable?

  3. Are they able to detect it if I use the font in a commercial product online by crawling my website and if yes, how could I prevent an automatic detection attempt?

To my (and possibly your) surprise, I didn't find any free downloads of the font online. Their license is tied to a personal account, you have to log into once a year to keep the license. As far as I understand they theoretically could use the DSIG to let the ttf files "expire", at least when used in software that verifies the signature. But I may be wrong, please let me know.

Thanks in advance and cheers-I mean ARR

A new TV offers the possibility to watch 4k movies to me. I am thinking about upgrading my library but I'm not sure if I want to replace my 1080 collection. I've read that some use a separate 4k library.

Do you? How do you deal with it? I mostly add movies with trakt and radarr automatically. Do you use separate accounts?

More lost keys..

From a reddit post:

Just seen this on IRC:

"the TLDR is basically: Best case, site comes back up we continue and change things in the backend, okay case, site is down for a little bit while we rebuild backend with likely a new domain, and worst case we close out and refugee you all elsewhere (we might still do this last part too hook up the community even if we are working on the backend"

ETA: IRC admin wrote "I'm currently trying to set up a place where refugees can go to"

ETA2: As far as I understand, someone went away and I quote "without the return of (this person), AR's continued existence is up in the air, we are attempting to work on solutions but he unfortunately seemed to hold more keys to the castle than we were fully aware."

2024-02-06 update:

Hey AR Community,

It's been a stressfull few days.

We are diligently working in the background to try to avoid issues like the last few days going forward. We are also working to establish a more robust backend that doesn't depend on any single point of people failure.

Keep an eye out for changes and thanks for sticking with us as we get over the bumpy road ahead. Yes we know certain things are not working, we are working on it.

Most of all and above all else, I want to thank our community and our committed members. The out pouring of love has been incredible. The amount of love shown by everyone in this turbulent time has been eye opening to say the least.

Thanks

AR Staff

I'm looking for C.H.U.D (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/C.H.U.D.). I tried the following searches when searching 1337x.to:

  1. "C.H.U.D." -- The result was: "Please make sure atleast one word in your query is more then 3 characters. Your search is too short." And I saw it had changed my search string to "C H U D"

  2. "CHUD" -- this returned a bunch of porn, and eventually "C.H.U.D.II.Bud.the.Chud.1989.1080p.BluRay.H264.AAC" showed up in the list. But not the first C.H.U.D movie. And when I searched for "C.H.U.D.II" in the search bar, it once again claimed the search query was too short, and replaced the dots with spaces.

Please help.

Edit: problem solved thanks to you! Just had to out a space between C.H.U.D. and 1984

Just saw on Titus Tech Talk that torrents are last decade, and newsgroups is where it's at for this stuff. Of course he didn't elaborate, so I need some help here.

What is he talking about, and what are these groups that can I ~~enter~~ er, avoid?

In unrelated news, music piracy is on the rise.

PS. I am sorry that my wording of this rubbed so many people the wrong way. This is a truly a nasty update of terms and agreements, and it's going to hurt a lot of people financially.

If it's all fine with you stay in. But if it's not you have a little over 30 days to get out.
