I want to use my MiG switch dumper to copy a game and have me and my buddy play them at the same time.

If we both play the same one online at the same time do we risk a ban?

I noticed that previous articles about it mentioned you could actually fake certificates and make it seem like two different games were playing? Does anyone know if that's still a thing?

Its pretty much the title I'm just genuinely wondering how you guys are keeping track of all of your legally sourced files. I'm pretty much just relying on a spreadsheet but is that really the best way? Especially for the less technically inclined individuals such as myself

Edit: I apologize thought it was obvious but looking back I could've been more specific. I was referring to movies, TV shows, YouTube videos, books, audiobooks, etc. I haven't taken the leap to self host anything yet just growing my library for now on a couple of encrypted drives until the time comes. You don't really need to provide tailored answers towards my situation I just want to know what's out there in terms of keeping track of stuff. Thank you in advance since this account is a burner and I check it like once a day

Edit #2: appreciate all of your feedback. Seems the majority rely on jellyfin and other software to automatically check what you have stored which I didn't even know it could do that's interesting.

Do they have a website or something? I found a codex torrent for X-plane on 1337x but it won't download so I'm guessing it has no seeders. Is there somewhere else I can try to find a healthier version of the torrent?

I think there is a deep need for someone to create a page listing all the ways someone can help seperated by the media type.

The previous generations of pirates who contribute is becoming too old to sustain, we need a new generation of pirates to keep piracy going for more time.

All the guides are for lurkers but there is no guides/ pages for providers.

I am buying a VR Headset to play games. I don't know if I'll buy a standalone or PCVR headset, but if I were to buy a standalone like the Meta Quest 3, having the possiblity of connecting to PC is a must.

I was wondering though how can you actually play pirated VR games. Does it work the same way as normal games where you just execute it and that's it? I am asking mainly because of platforms like SteamVR, which some reviews on VR headsets I have watched make it seem like it is a mandatory thing to have if you want to play games, but playing pirated games is something else entirely.

Wanting to torrent in a country other than my own, I've been exiting via Singapore as it has the most direct path I believe. Any reason not to ? Any superior choices for whatever reason ? Couldn't find this discussed anywhere. TIA.

Do I use a website to download songs off of YouTube or Spotify?

Where should I store the music? I haven't any clue about self-hosting. I'm running GrapheneOS, is it enough to save the songs in Files and play in an app like Auxio? Maybe sync with SyncThing?

What's the best way to compress mp3 files but still retain the quality (even possible)?

Could really use some help as I'm very inexperienced. :)

As in title, i'm just wondering whether it is possible to rip movie from cinema if one has got unsupervised access to cinema's hardware. Maybe someone did that? I'm not talking about caming, i'm talking about making a digital copy of premiere material.

spotify-downloader is great. I already have an arr stack running for movie and shows. It would be cool to add music to the mix.

I have a shared spotify playlist with friends that I pretty much listen to exclusively as of late. What I'd like is to have an arr app that constantly pulls from that playlist and downloads via spotify-downloader, so that I can listen to those songs from my private server and then I don't need to have spotify open so much.

The ideal setup would be a system where songs are pulled from a spotify playlist, downloaded via spotify-downloader, but later once a higher quality version is discovered, downloads that and replaces the youtube quality initial version.

I can't be the first to think of this, so I'm hopeful something like this is already ready to deploy. Thoughts?

Questionable if this is only about movies, and not about any Bittorrent traffic.

I have a large DVD collection containing lots of niche titles that don’t appear to be on any public tracker. I would like to share my love of these films with the world.

I have access to a server that’s online 24/7 with a symmetric link and no data cap. My plan is to use a docker container with a web transmission instance to seed all of my material through a VPN provider (for my own safety). My server was last rebooted 200 days ago; I intend to rack lots of uptime seeding with my server. I have technical skills and I can ensure I’ll have an open port to accept connections.

Questions: what steps should I take to protect myself in seeding these DVDs? Is there a guide or some recommendations you can provide to get the best quality out of the many hours I’m going to spend ripping? Is it possible to trace the DVD reader that made the rip? Are the cool kids still uploading torrents or is there a better technology I should be using?

Overall, I have plenty of content to share, but I don’t want to put myself at risk when I do.

I would love to seed (and cross-seed) my music library, but metadata tagging and renaming fucks the files up. How do I set up qBittorrent and Prowlarr to keep seeding after retagging?
