It is the photo of a person with long dark hair, colourful shirt, and wearing a pirate hat. To their left, the logo of Sci-hub. To their right, that of The Pirate Bay. Over the image float several sentences in white with black border:

knowledge belongs to humanity THEY DON’T EVEN PAY THE PEER REVIEWERS piracy of academic material is morally good and justified your taxes fund this research be gay do crime it’s your to take if you want

This is quite new. Just wanted to share. (The link is from Sci-Hub, so the whole thing seems legit).

Edit: but, if I'm getting it right, they're just replacing paywalls with another paywall?

I'm interested in playing through LAN, which the game supports, but using multiplayer at all asks for a key.

Has anybody figured out a way around this?

Hello, everyone.

I used to have access to Iptorrents many years ago after being invited by a friend and loved it. As I felt Netflix was a reasonable replacement at the time, I shifted to purely using it for all my streaming needs resulting in an IPT account shutdown. Today is a different story though... As the library shrank and split into many different providers bumping the price up to a very UNreasonable level along with small and bloated libraries, I'm ditching the services for a purely Jellyfin reliant home. Does anyone know of a quality tracker that I can use these days?

Edit: Everyone has been so helpful. Thanks for all of the information and invites!

While cloned fonts may not be illegal, it certainly wasn’t in the spirit of the campaign.

The music was definitely used illegally though.

Hey, releases by PAL-CultFilms™ are dope with often best quality possible as it is straight from dvd. Im currently trying to download The Smurfs (1981-1989) 32xDVD9 1xDVD5 PAL-CultFilms™ but with no luck. It is more than 200 gigs so its getting difficut at this point. The question is: is there a place that archives CultFilms™ releases on lets say rapidgator or other warez dl site?

Hoping someone can help me out with figuring out how to use torrent streaming within Jellyfin (or similar). I've been researching/experimenting for a week now and am only getting more confused, lol.

Currently using Stremio with TorBox (and Trakt) as a Netflix/PrimeVideo replacement. It works great for streaming movies or my favorite shows quickly at high-quality with no buffering, but Stremio is profoundly terrible at everything else (and is sketchy AF).

I want to put together something that acts like a locally hosted version of the late great Fmovies -- simply shows what's available, and keeps track of what I'm watching and which series is next with easily configurable and customizable watchlists. When I choose something to watch and press play, it plays immediately -- just like any commercial (or pirate) streaming service.

I'm not interested in downloading/hoarding, only streaming. I don't want anything downloaded to my computer, but having an option to cache something locally for a certain time would a convenient feature. TorBox currently does all the streaming and seeding.

Jellyfin looks like the way to go. But all of the guides and plugins are geared towards Usenet/Torrent collectors, and not streamers. The Arr suite seems overkill for what I need, but certain parts seem useful so maybe something could be cobbled together? Then there's newer plugins/apps such as Jellyseer, ListSync, etc, but all the information is geared towards downloaders and not streamers.

I'm not married to TorBox, but it works great for me and has the option for Usenet as well as debrid. If something works better I'll check it out.

Is this possible using Jellyfin? Is there a hidden or unlisted plugin for it like the Torrentio Stremio plugin or the Umbrella Kodi plugin for Jellyfin.

Or can the Arr apps do this without having to download/organize?

Or some other media server entirely?

Much thanks for any help or hints you can give. If I get something working I'll post a detailed guide if there's need for one.

The repacking is getting kind of annoying. I don't think it serves much of a purpose these days other than for the repackers to jerk themselves off over how efficient their compression is.

I'd like to download torrents that don't require unpacking, and preferably without an 'installer' at all.

Does anyone know if there are sources for this? Thank you.

Why do they say Use at your own risk only after FMHY and not after any of the other guides ?

Yet again the Internet Archiving is suffering big this time, a coalition of major record labels filed a lawsuit against the Internet Archive demanding $700 million for the extensive catalog of 78 rpm records. 78s are sometimes more than a century old at this point and i bet a lot of them are out of copyright, but i suppose for the few that still are majors are hitting it big towards the IA

This lawsuit is pretty much another existential threat to the Internet Archive and everything it preserves, including the Wayback Machine, and we're fucked if we ever lose access to the Wayback Machine.

the original article asked to sign a petition, but i think a more logical way to support is to donate them directly so that they have more money to better defend themselves in court in this and other cases they'll undoubtedly face in the future

I'm getting a tad frustrated with the movies that get downloaded by my radarr setup. Mostly its the letterboxing being encoded in the file which on an ultrawide results in a full black border. Also just shoddy quality even on huge files.

With anime there is seadex and some reviewers here and there that give opinions on the best release to grab, but is there something like that for movies or is there only trash guides? One of the things that I've seen in anime reviews is that sometimes the bluray is plain old worse quality compared to the streaming platforms. Does anyone know of places where that gets noted?

Should I just download the largest file and get hardware encode and decode supporting gpu? Will I have encryption problems if I self encode from disk rips instead of using media player ready files?

Hi everyone! I'm planning to deploy my server with an ARR-Suite and would appreciate some tips and tricks before I start, so I don't have to tear it down later. I want to automate it as much as possible while keeping it relatively simple, as I'm a beginner.

Firstly, I'm looking to download movies, TV shows, and some audiobooks. I am interested in using both Usenet and Torrents. I am German and prefer most of my media to be in German. I understand that most torrent trackers and Usenet groups are in English, but I'm primarily looking for German content. Can you recommend some public trackers or groups for this?

I understand that if you want to use private trackers and contribute to the community, you should seed for extended periods. How can I set it up so that I can seed for a long time while still using the files, renaming them, and moving them to my preferred directories without disrupting the seeding process? Are there any good tutorials or videos you would recommend?

I have tried to start this project multiple times, but I often run into the issue of wanting an automated system that renames and organizes these files into my desired directories without destroying the seeding process and without duplicating files, as I have limited storage.

If this post is not appropriate for this community and should be in a homelab forum, please let me know. I would love to hear about your setups and best practices.

I discovered this by accident. It may not work 100% of the time.

If you create a patreon account using a simplelogin alias, patreon will automatically flag it as suspicious after a few minutes and delete the account.

This means you can make an account. Purchase whatever you wanted and wait. The account will be deleted as suspicious and the money is automatically refunded.

Recently my music downloader of choice yams.tf shut down. It was the only place I got music out of convenience. It's the only apple music ripper on fmhy. Now, I can't get new music and lyrics. I'm looking for a solution to this, whether that be self hosting(I only do FOSS) or a better downloader. Just note that I value organization and consistent file metadata.

Thank you very much for any suggestions.
