I remember filling out a government survey that fed into this policy change.

At the time i thought we could attempt to replace more than we plan to keep, for future generations to maintain a managed and steady supply of beautiful Jarrah and Karri wood without decimating the forests like has happened.

Was this just impossibly wishful thinking on my behalf?

Apparently a continental roll is a Perth thing, is this true?

Very interesting. I always find it a bit hard to think about the shape of the world in different times and how it could have been different from today.

Xmas Eve at 6:25pm, looking NW. Very short rainbow.

Contacting all those with meteorological knowledge on Lemmy. I have never seen this before and want your best info about what it might be.

The best guesses I've got are localised rain, earthquake lights or a part of a sun-dog.

Details on the Midland Rail Station upgrade.

Anybody a good/know a good artist? They're looking for artworks until January 29th. Expressions of interest already closed. My bad.

I have noticed a tonne of tourists in the city the last couple of weeks. One thing i noticed was a lot of them carrying suitcases. Do we have a short term luggage storage facility in or around say forrest chase? What else would help tourists? I do appreciate we finally have more signage ariund , the 3km this way to optus stadium type thing. But only in English.

Basically... log in to dotdirect and add a block.

Remove the block when you actually need to be looked up.

This is a really interesting situation with the Joint Development Assessment Panel. From the article David Bell says the committee is designed to have State appointee dominance in order to streamline development.

As far as I understand the city of Vincent would need to have agreed to a set up like that. But why would they surrender control over their suburbs design like that? Especially when the electoral blowback would likely fall on the councillors.

The fight at Bayswater city council seems set to continue for some time.

Pretty unique idea, i wonder what the range of temperatures was?

If you look closely at the photos of the wine bottles you can see they waxed the tops to seal them better.

A couple interesting snippets,

Cook says it won't be a linear progression, and expects a lot of the reductions to come into place towards the back end of the 2030 time period

Gas, renewable hydrogen, and critical minerals is Reece Whitby's list of highest impact areas WA can contribute to in the global energy transition.

A question: Is there a plan to increase offsets for the use of gas as the 'transition' fuel? Here and with the exportee countries (who i believe are mostly Japan and Korea?). If so, what are those plans?

Its apparently part of a trilogy

Fun point of view, a few good points in here. Not sure how based in reality it all is though. I mean what zucchini would ever be caught trying to be a cucumber! What a joker.

The story of the concrete plants goes on.

Now Stirling are putting up resistance my question is, actually how disruptive are they to daily life in an area?

I imagine theres associated dust, trucks going back and forth, obviously some machinery noise.

If the places are an eyesore only, then maybe the solution is a beautifying/hiding project, rather than moving the plants.
