i’ve been searching for an explanation for nearly ten years and i have no answer. please help!!

when i was 8, on black friday i watched my mom PHYSICALLY OPEN MY DOOR (which i always keep closed). not a lot, just enough for like a cat to get in.

she was in a red shirt with crystals hanging from it, and she just stared at me for a few seconds with wide eyes. not scarily and super exaggeratingly wide eyes, but wide enough it kind of concerned me. then, LEAVING THE DOOR THAT WAS PREVIOUSLY CLOSED OPEN, i heard her walk back down the hallway, and i stopped hearing her footsteps by the time she would have reached the stairs.

Kind of scared, i ran to my dad’s room, and on the way there, i saw no sign of her on the hallway or stairs. i asked what she was doing and he said she had left for the black friday sale before i had even woken up.

later that day, we met her at Uno’s, and, although i wouldn’t have had any idea what shirt she could have been wearing because i hadn’t seen her that day, SHE WAS WEARING THE SAME RED SHIRT. SO THE SPIRIT/ THING KNEW WHAT SHE WAS WEARING EVEN THOUGH I DIDN’T??!

AGHHHH HELP DOES ANYONE KNOW WHAT THAT WAS? HOW DID IT OPEN MY DOOR?

This happened approx 1 hour before writting this post. It wasn’t a trick of the light or anything and I am still having goosebumps. I was driving back home ~23:00 and in a village in the mountain side, I saw a drunk man crossing the street and at some point he stumbled ~100m and fell. I had my high beams on and could see him clear. As I slowed down and prepared to help him get out of the road due to obvious reasons and could see him laying down ~20-30m he turned into a white dog and walked away. Has anyone else encountered anything similar to this? At this point I am regreting not having a dashcam.

My mom died last December. She was in advanced dementia and Parkinson’s disease when she died. She was bedridden and hadn’t spoken a word in 6 years. Basically in a catatonic state. About one year before she died we had a palliative care assessment but she didn’t qualify because she was stable and the palliative care physician said she was quite stable and could likely live for another decade in this state. It was true. In the 6 years I cared for her there as only one hospital visit and she was eating and drinking normally.

One night I had a dream of her. I was in my home and I walked over to the living room. My dad was pointing at her and she was lying in the floor. She looked directly at me and said ‘I’m going to die very soon.’ Then I woke up.

About one week later she suddenly stopped eating and drinking over a period of three days. Five days later she died.

I don’t know if this post belongs here. I can’t stop thinking of it. I wanted to tell you.

When I was a kid my parents always had to work late, so me and my brother were often alone for some time. But this time my mom wasn’t working she was just doing the groceries. Don’t tell me why but me and my brother decided to go look for her since the store was only around 500m away or so. We lived in an apartment so we took the elevator to go down to the lobby. I told my little brother to wait for me upstairs until I came back with mom and he agreed. I got in and I pressed the lobby button. The elevator went down to the lobby and I saw my brother just standing there with an orange balloon. I just looked at him confused. Then I guess my real brother comes running down the stairs saying that he saw a fake me upstairs. We ran to the front office to be around people cause we thought we would be safe there. They let us play with some toys there and let us stay until my mom came back. When she came back we didn’t say a word about what happened and made a lie to keep us not in trouble. Truly something that shakes me to this day.

This incident was told to me by my father. It happened to one of his uncles sometime around the year 1957.Back then his uncle often used to go hunting in the forests of Mangaldoi since my father's ancestral home is in Mangaldoi(Assam).

Like on many other days his uncle went hunting alone and climbed up a tree to wait planning to shoot any deer or other animal that might pass below. That was a common path for such animals. It was also a full moon night so everything was visible clearly in the moonlight.

Around that time there was a cholera outbreak in many parts of Assam and especially in villages around Mangaldoi. Many people had died. However his uncle wasn’t aware that the village near the forest he was in had also been severely affected with many deaths.

While he was waiting on the tree for his prey suddenly he started hearing a sound like anklets or ghungroos jingling. He thought it might be a porcupine ("Ketela Pohu" in Assamese)and he got ready to hunt it.

But after a while he noticed that the sound wasn’t coming from a porcupine.Instead two human like figures appeared. They were of medium height and wore strange ornaments made of snail shells around their necks, on their clothes, even on their staffs and on their feet. They moved slowly and kept approaching.

As they got closer he realized they didn’t quite look human.Alarmed but alert he thought to himself "Whoever they are if they come right beneath me i’ll shoot."

And that’s exactly what happened when they reached right below the tree he fired his gun.The moment the shot hit one of the figures instantly turned into a crow and dropped to the ground dead. The other let out a terrifying scream and fled into the forest and was never seen again.

In the morning when his uncle climbed down the crow was still lying there but he didn’t touch it.He went straight home.

From that day onward he never went hunting alone in that forest again.

It had to have been around 15, maybe 17 years ago. I don’t remember the exact date — just that it was late, and I was laying in bed like I always did, scrolling through thoughts and slowly drifting off.

At some point, I must’ve fallen asleep. But what woke me up didn’t feel normal.

I can’t tell you exactly what it was. I don’t know if it was energy, instinct, or something else entirely — but something pulled me out of sleep. I remember waking up and just feeling… off. Like the air around me had shifted.

I kept my eyes closed at first. It wasn’t fear, more like confusion. I figured maybe I was just uncomfortable, so I shifted in bed and turned to face the wall, hoping I’d fall right back to sleep.

That’s when I felt it.

The moment I turned over, the energy in the room got heavier. Not loud. Not dramatic. Just thick. The air felt like it was pressing in on me, almost buzzing — not physically, but in my chest, in my mind. Like something was right there, just beyond what I could explain.

That’s when I opened my eyes.

What I saw is something I’ll never forget. No matter how much time passes, no matter how many times I try to convince myself it didn’t happen — I remember every detail.

There was something in front of me. A face. Close enough that our noses were almost touching.

It wasn’t a blur. It wasn’t shadowy. I saw every part of it clearly. Its face had this faint, unnatural glow — just enough to outline every sharp feature. Its eyes didn’t blink. Its skin looked too smooth, too still, almost like it wasn’t real. But it was the smile that I remember most — this slow, deliberate grin that felt… wrong. Like it was mocking me. Enjoying the moment.

I couldn’t move. I couldn’t scream. I just stared back, frozen, stuck in some space between disbelief and silence.

It didn’t speak. It didn’t move. It just watched me.

I don’t know how long it lasted. Maybe a second. Maybe longer. But I remember blinking, and when I did… it was gone. Just like that. The pressure in the room lifted, and everything felt normal again.

I laid there, staring at the wall, trying to breathe. I wanted to believe it was a dream. That maybe I was half asleep, or that my mind was just playing tricks on me. But deep down, I knew it wasn’t a dream. I was awake. I was present. And whatever that thing was… it was real.

The strange part? I wasn’t terrified. Not the way you’d expect. I was shocked, yeah. But not scared.

I think part of me just believed it couldn’t hurt me. I’ve always believed in God, and in that moment, I leaned on that. I didn’t pray out loud or anything like that — I just knew that whatever it was, it didn’t have control over me.

And maybe that’s why it left.

I’ve never seen it again. Not in the way I did that night. But even now, after all these years, I still think about that moment. How real it felt. How quiet. How close.

Sometimes I wonder if it was waiting to see how I’d react. Or maybe it just wanted to be seen.

Either way… I saw it.

I’d love to hear about everyone’s favorite paranormal podcasts! The ones I once loved just aren’t doing it for me anymore, unfortunately. Used to really enjoy Radio Rental, but lately, the true crime stories have really overshadowed paranormal ones, boo. Used to LOVE Spooked, but they primarily publish old episodes now, and the occasional new story just isn’t that great, sadly. I’ve tried Belief Hole, but it’s just too corny boots for me - I can only handle so many carbon-copy Bigfoot stories. Still enjoying Rattled and Shook, but I miss April as co-host, and I much prefer hearing stories directly from the storyteller vs read by a narrator.

Give me your best recs!! :)

This happened a few months ago and I still think about it.

I was walking home after dinner with a friend. It wasn’t super late, maybe around 10:30 p.m., but the streets were pretty quiet. I had my headphones in and was just kind of zoning out. Probably not the smartest move, but I felt safe — until I didn’t.

I turned onto my street and noticed a guy standing near a wall. He looked... off. Not doing anything, just watching. I got that gut feeling — the one that makes you instantly alert.

As I walked past him, I saw him move out of the corner of my eye. He didn’t say anything, just started stepping toward me like he was going to grab my bag. I felt my whole body tense up. I didn’t know if I should run or yell.

Then, out of nowhere, this older man across the street called out, “Everything alright over there?” He had been sitting outside a little café and stood up slowly, holding a cane. He didn’t yell or act aggressive, just said it loud enough to be heard.

The guy who was creeping on me suddenly stopped. He hesitated for a second and then just walked off like nothing happened.

The old man came over and asked if I was okay. I told him I was, and he offered to walk me the rest of the way home. He didn’t ask me anything personal or make it weird — he just quietly made sure I got to my door safely, then turned and walked away.

I never saw him again. I don’t even know his name. But honestly, I think he might’ve saved me that night just by paying attention and saying something.

It really reminded me how much it matters when people look out for each other. So if you ever see something that feels off — say something. You never know what kind of difference it could make.

Idk if I’m being paranoid or hallucinating but today me and my dad were driving through Mojave to get to LA and it’s all desert. It was sunset and we passed by this white car driving and I always look at cars when driving because I like looking at who’s driving. Anyways I was looking at the car and saw in the backseat of the car this little boy who was sticking out his head out the windows. He was very sickly pale, bald and I looked at him closely and his eyes were all black and at first I thought that he was wearing contacts or something but he didn’t have any white inside his eyes and only black. I didn’t really get too freaked out from this because I thought maybe he was a cosplayer or something and so did my dad until 10 minutes passed and we already had passed the car when in the distance we see a person just standing in the middle of the road and my dad slowed down and we looked closely at the person because my dad was thinking of giving him a ride but we noticed that the person had the same complex as the little kid I saw in the backseat of that woman’s car so my dad just went around the person and speed off. He was on the right side because I was in the passages seat so I was very close to seeing him but he just looked at us like there was no emotion. We were talking about it the way home and now are finally home but we don’t know what type of encounter we just had (we do not believe in any paranormal stuff, but we don’t know how to feel now) cause they looked human but at the same time they didn’t like they had an eerie look to them like almost dead, the guy in the road looked like a teenager maybe, very tall, very skinny, pale (skin like sandpaper white), bald, and deep black eyes, we still don’t know maybe a hitchhiker, expect they didn’t have anything with them just a black long sleeve thin shirt and black sweatpants I believe like a pajama thin and didn’t move just stared at our car and was looking at us when we drove off. If anyone had the same encounter please let me know. Maybe it was a local that lived in the desert or something idk 😭

I was at a night club. The place itself has always been filled with wild people. Everyone is either on drugs, half naked or both. I've been going to this spot for some time now and the most I've ever done is dance, smoke and drink. For some strange reason I didn't drink that night because I'm honestly not a heavy drinker. The long term effects of drinking for a couple months kicked in and I just wanted to sit down. I smoked that night like I always do. Anyways... While I was sitting I noticed someone sat close to me. I hate it when people do that but I was with someone so I just remained in my position. While I was busy observing my environment I didn't stare directly at the individual next to me but my vision grazed him. To my surprise I saw some sort demonic face. It was so fast I almost didn't believe it. When I focused my vision it turned out that the person wasn't wearing a mask or nothing of the sort. I didn't overreact or feel scared. Almost thought I was on drugs when it happened but I had to keep reminding myself that I was coherent. I didn't turn to stare again but then I saw it again on another person on the dance floor. It looked "seethrough" but to me It was clear enough to make out what I saw. It looked like a see through mask of a demon was attached to them. Idk exactly how to explain it but I'm wondering if anyone else has ever had demonic encounters in their life and how it happened.

As already explained that I’ve had strange, paranormal experiences throughout my life that I explained before, but this one incident still is memorable.

I worked as a senior science teacher from 2014 to 2022 in a remote village school. The area was traditional, and stories of possession, especially among girls, weren’t uncommon. About five years before I left, a new principal joined—rude, jealous, and extremely hostile toward me. I taught physics using modern, scientific methods, and I never flattered her like others did. She made my life hell.

One day, while I was teaching another class, some girls came running—one of my students was screaming uncontrollably. I was the class in-charge of the high-standard girls’ section, so I rushed over. The girl was standing on her desk, yelling in a voice that didn’t sound human. This had been going on for three days.

Already drained from constant harassment, I lost it. I warned her, but when she shouted back, “You can’t talk to me like that!” something inside me snapped. I slapped her—hard.

Instantly, she stopped. Her face changed. She looked terrified—like whatever was in her had just vanished. I asked another teacher to get her water and walked out, shaken.

She didn’t come to school the next day. When she finally returned, she pulled me aside and said, “Ma’am, ever since a trip to Azad Kashmir, something possessed me. But the day you slapped me, it felt like something else hit me—like a power was protecting you. That thing inside me couldn’t stand it. It left.”

I didn’t know what to say.

A few months later, that same principal locked me out of the school gate. Another teacher let me in, and I stormed into her office and finally stood up for myself. She tried to get me written up, but higher-ups dismissed it. Strangely, she was found crying alone in her office that day.

Soon after, she vanished from school.

Turns out, she was suspended in a corruption case, fined, and demoted. Rumors spread—some people even said I’d “done something to her.” I hadn’t. I come from a humble family. No influence. No tricks. Just hard work.

But even senior teachers started saying, “There’s something that protects you. Maybe you're not alone.”

Honestly? I’ve started to wonder if they’re right.

I am a strong disbeliever of spirits, ghost etc. However.... After me, my wife and two children have moved into a new home, we have both experienced weird noises.

"My oldest daughter who is 2 years old have several times said "thats mommy" and then pointed at the ceiling. Nearly all the time, i got goosebums before she actually said that."

"My wife heard me open our door and greeted them. Just to get silent. Personally i was on my way home, and when i was about 2 minutes from home, she called me and asked why i left again. Obviously told her i havent been home"

"Yesterday my wife was sitting on the couch with our 3 month baby, and the oldest was sleeping. I was being lazy and was laying in our bed browsing my phone. I heard someone running outside the bedroom door "footsteps sounding like a child, thought it was my daughter so i sneaked out to surprise her. But she was still fast asleep and my wife still on the couch"

And thats just the weirdest of what we have heard.

What the hell is going on? Never had anything remotely like that Any suggestions?

Copying this from my other post since cross posting isn't allowed.

I said I'd write my story to some folks in another sub that asked to hear my story. It was too long to comment so hear it is.

This is absolutely 100% true. Never wanted to post it til now because I know what happened as does my brother, and I don't really need to hear criticism.

This is a long read.

Okay so here in the Sierra Nevada's is the only place I've heard of this specific one. Really it's more of a local legend. You can take this with all the grains of salt you need to but I swear this story to be true and I have my brother to back me up. This might be a bit long.

So growing up, I didn't live on a reservation but about 5 miles away from the closest one. It actually butts up to my grandfather's property. Still grew up with everyone. All the elders are very spiritual. My dad was a special case. He was surrounded by paranormal activity all through his childhood. He'd talk about it when he was drunk, which was quite often. Coincidentally he drank to "keep the demons at bay" so to say.

There was this one legend that he told me early on. Living in a very rural mountain house on a road known for its activity, even rural compared to the small town, boys and men would pee outside quite often. Just quick and easy. My dad though, he always kicked dirt over his pee, yes like a dog. I asked him when I was real young and imitating him one time why he did that. He told me a story that I never forgot, because it scared the shit out of me.

He said that there's an ancient medicine man, neither man nor beast, something in-between. Now this medicine man wasn't a healer, he was evil. He told me that when a native man or kid (usually kids) wouldn't step off the trail to pee, they need to kick dirt over their pee. If they don't the medicine man -he has a name that you're not to speak or he hears you- will walk the trails at night, once he comes across your scent he'll pick a handful of dirt from where you peed and smell it. He puts it in a medicine bag he wears around his neck and begins to hunt you. He hunts at night, especially if you're a bad kid.

I will say his name starts with a W and sounds like (Tat-moo). Gives me the chills thinking about his name.

Well, my brother and I kinda grew up on the wrong side of the tracks. At the time I was a big pothead with no money, my brother was a full blown drug addict who moved back in for a few months just as I had when I was about 19, putting him at about 26. We were...doing a lot of bad stuff especially in the neighboring community. Definitely "bad kids".

So when I was in highschool there was a guy who moved on our road, between our place and my grandpa's ranch. He grew a LOT of weed. I knew the trail to get there and me and a few buddies went and cut his crop in the night one summer. It was a good summer needless to say.

Bored one night hanging with my brother I told him about the crop, turns out he knew about it too. We decided to go that night and get some fresh buds.

Now our road is long, windy, one lane, and dark. Extremely dark. There was a little moonlight out so we could see but not much, our eyes adjusted. My brother being paranoid (on stimulants) decided we should walk the old railroad grade that runs parallel to the road, but beneath. It's where people travelled when the road was still a railroad. I agreed but said we should go up to the main road because that's where the trailhead to the guys place was marked with a red gate.

Well my brother (genius he thinks he is) says the dogs will bark and there will be trail cams. The time I went we just took all the trail cams and no evidence. I digress. He says let's stay on the trail and cut through the brush. So we tried that and failed as the brush was practically a wall.

Now at this point we're a lot closer to our grandfather's property and we're close with a guy who rents a house on the other side of the property. (About 1,200 acre property that I now live on) So we decided to go to his place and stay the rest of the night.

A few things you should know. My grandpa refuses to speak anything paranormal but he's adamant that you do not go on his property without permission and if you are given permission you stick to where he tells you, and lastly you never EVER go past the yard on his property at night. We tried countless times to get even my dad to talk about it, but he'd just say something like "you don't want to be there after midnight. Trust me." My dad is not a fearful man.

Along the road there's a waterfall where a bridge crosses, at that point the railroad grade is thousands of yards beneath it, so you cross the creek. It was dry as it was middle of summer. We stopped there and I took a pee, well we both did. I don't know why but I didn't kick dirt. I thought about it while walking away but didn't say anything.

Okay at this point I realize I forgot to mention I had a shotgun and my brother had his compound bow, one of the reasons we decided to stay off the road even with little traffic. This is when shit kinda hits the fan.

There's three houses on my grandfather's land, we were coming up the hill to the one he rents to a lovely old couple. We're walking up this road that used to be used to transport cattle but hadn't been used in a while, and we're being as silent as we can as we aren't supposed to be there. On our left is an open field, at our 10 o'clock the road continues, on our right the road is cut into a hill so a wall of dirt above our heads. I'm 6'1" to give you an idea of the height.

As we're walking, well creeping really, on high alert we both hear something. Sounds like a horse but there are no more horses on the property, not for years. We both exchange looks that we can barely see as it's so dark and before we know it, it's running at us. Not galloping. Running. Two hooves hitting the ground in very long strides. Strides that tell you this thing is probably 2-3 feet taller than us.

I'm not too prideful to admit that I froze in my tracks, shotgun in hand. Didn't even aim it. My brother lept backwards and claims he drew his bow, but didn't release an arrow. We were dumbstruck. This thing is coming at us like a freight train in a few seconds that felt like hours and you can hear it's breathing, huffing hard like a buffalo or a very big bull.

We could hardly make out the outline but it was tall and humanoid, my mind pictured scraggly for on horse like legs running on cloven hooves in my last few moments, or so I thought. As the thing gets spitting distance to us I realized and my brother later recounts ... There's something chasing it.

I have no frame of reference for what was behind it because it drew in the darkness and was blacker than the night, that's the only reason you could see the outline of this thing that I liken to what a saber tooth tiger must look like.

It was fast. It had run the same distance it had in just a couple seconds it seemed and was on the hooved things tail just as it's hooves planted one last time mere feet from me. With one more "SHHOOOOFFF" of breath it leapt clear above us onto the bank behind, and whatever was chasing it slid hard like a horse breaking for dear life and then poof. It was just fucking gone. Nothing.

All we hear is the thing now still running behind us through manzanita and oak trees snapping giant limbs like a bulldozer in the night.

We stood. Regained our composure..what was left of it.. and charted our course. We still had quite a ways to go to get to our friends place. Do we go in the direction of whatever was behind the thing, or do we take a lesser used trail behind the old folks house and towards the hooved beast still snapping limbs and stalking around in the darkness?

Might have been foolish of us but we both decided we don't want to deal with whatever was chasing it. So we went towards the beast as quietly as we could.

We heard the odd step and branch break behind us as we made it the rest of the way. We both felt an immediate sense of calm the moment we passed the gate that bordered the yard of the house. We woke up our friend and shared a cigarette as we told him the story, still shaking and hardly wanting to speak about it.

To this day I don't know what we came across, we never spoke to Grandpa about it, and this is the first time I've written it out. I'm 30 now and I live in the house that we were trying to make it to all night. I don't venture passed my gate at night unless I'm driving out. I think we saw the medicine man though.. my brother still isn't sure.

This is a true story I’ve never told out loud. A lot of inner turmoil and past trauma, I’ve just never wanted to revisit it. This year will mark 6 years that have passed and I suppose I’m finally ready to get it all off my chest. I typed it out for the first time today.. It’s a long one. Here it goes..

My dad was an interesting guy. He had a tumultuous upbringing that followed him through multiple careers, children, and women.. All the vices. Fast money, fast women and faster benders in no particular order. He lost everything in 2008 when my mom finally decided to get off his wild ride after 4 kids and ~25 years.

Dad spent the following 12 years trying to reinvent himself, most notably shacking up with a “fortune teller” or the closest thing to a modern day witch I care to encounter. And I am not saying that in the angsty “never gonna call her mom” sort of way. He met her through Alcoholics Anonymous, where I surmised most just learned to trade one crutch for another and become professional gaslighters, but I digress. She insisted she already knew myself and my siblings through and through via something she referred to as human design. She saw auras, performed sound healing treatments, the whole 9 yards. She painted it all as a source of “good” or “light”, but the creepy factor was undeniable in their home. Decor was mostly black and red. That was never my dad. My brother struggles with sleep paralysis and her take on that was nothing short of horrifying. Just a terrible vibe from the woman for the entire 4 years or so they were together.

Creepiest part was a lot of her “synopsis” of me tracked. Observant, reserved, empathetic/sensitive to shitty vibes (she could tell I didn’t like her), “needed to be invited multiple times to actually feel invited to something” stood out and hit home hard. And she was obsessed with my dad’s health. He was a tall, slender man with no pre existing conditions, yet she was just certain he was destined for an early departure. They split in 2014 - she moved cross country with his “help” and we never heard from her again. Bullet dodged, or so we thought.

Dad tried his best to save face after that chapter, admitting he hit a point of clarity where her witchy shenanigans were just too much, bleeding in to every aspect of their lives. He wasn’t one to be told what to do or how things were gonna be. In an effort to lay a foundation for better days and form some kind of healthier adulthood bond with my brother and I, now in our early 20’s and more removed from his day to day life that often left us confused and broken hearted… he did what any dad would do and took up big game hunting with us! It was always a passion of his, but it was more his own escape from reality that whiny, spoiled Xbox kids would have just ruined.. We enjoyed the jerky at the end of the season and the time outdoors, but neither of us the natural born killer type. We just wanted a normal relationship with our dad. Wanted to be wanted.

This went on every fall from 2014-2019. Deer and Elk tags are a lottery draw out here so it wasn’t every year, but the application strategy and build up was constant. It did help bring us together. Things were finally feeling more normal with him. More women came and went, but nothing like the fortune teller… He even remarried the polar opposite of a woman but we won’t get in to her here.

Winter 2017, I am at work and get the call he has had a stroke and we need to get to the hospital. He has a seizure right in front of us shortly after we all arrive, and is intubated later that night. 4 days we thought we were going to lose him. He made it, but it led to a quadruple bypass surgery… and ultimately a stage 4 pancreatic cancer diagnosis in 2019.

We drew a nice deer opportunity in 2019. Crazy old man was still putting in applications like he was fine. We drew the tags, just kind of shook our heads and actually went.. He had a chemo treatment the day we were to get to camp to slow the progression. Having just been diagnosed and being fully forthcoming that it was terminal, I was going through it and I could tell my brother was too. We were more concerned with his health and the lack of sanitation out in the AZ wilderness where we shit in a bucket for a week and a proper hand washing beyond a wet wipe only happened once or twice a day before meals back at camp.

I’m laying in my cot on the first night. Maybe crying.. feeling sorry for myself, for my dad, for my siblings.. All the nights as kids we were told to lock our doors so he didn’t come in drunk pass out in one of our beds and smother one of us in our sleep, the cheating scandals I caught him in when he was still married to my mom, watching everything we had get repossessed, and the “fortune teller” that predicted all this awful illness….. Things were finally looking up and now he is dying in his late 50’s. countless other heartbreaks just rushing to my head keeping me up until nature inevitably called. I grab the TP roll & flashlight around 2AM and head out to our designated bathroom for the week. I sit down to do my business, facing miles of open Yavapai national forest. And I hear to what is this day the most confusing and unsettling phrase I’ve ever heard. I hear my little sister’s signature mousey little voice she took infinite shit for in high school say “…Hello?”

Clear as day. It’s her, it has to be her. Of course she is not out here, not the hunting type and wasn’t as eager to forgive the old man at the time. But I swear to god I thought I was having a stroke of my own. I froze. Couldn’t speak, couldn’t move, couldn’t think straight. People talk about fight or flight but there is a 3rd option I learned that night- freeze. The sense of confusion, dread, horror, you name it. I was not mistaken and there was nobody else out there for miles. Nobody awake back at camp to mess with me. I just accepted that something paranormal was going to come out of the tree line and scare me to death and that would be that. I sat, and sat and sat… until finally my heart rate leveled out and I could get my shit together to clean up and head back. But I could not take my eyes off of the tree line in front of me.

I never saw anything. Was never able to make any sense of it, never had anything like it happen again. The AZ wilderness is a strange place. Will burn you alive during the day and freeze you to death the same night. I’ve lived here long enough to hear the stories of skinwalkers, taking form of your loved ones to bait you in to the wilderness. Preying on emotional turmoil. I suppose fortunately, I knew well enough you aren’t supposed to respond or take the bait. We were outside of Congress, AZ after all in the Yavapai national forest. Lots of mining history, now ghost town. Or maybe it was something different entirely. Something to do with the fortune teller. Who knows. Just the perfect shit storm of emotion and paranormal energy to scare me out of my mind.

Dad passed away January 2021. I’ve been hunting multiple times since with nothing like this happening. I’ve accepted the past, all of my dad’s faults.. and have a son of my own now. I try every day to give him a better version of a father. I’ve had to accept there is a lot out there we will just never be able to explain or understand in more ways than one.

Not usual ghosts encounters or glitch in the matrix, where you had lost the key and the then found it in the usual place, I mean something unhinged and unbelievable

I've done a lot of ghost citations since childhood. By now, it doesn’t even feel strange anymore. I come from a Muslim household, so I’ve had many religious scholars perform "dam-durood" (spiritual healing) and numerological readings as well. Most of the peers and babas (spiritual men) say that our house carries a heavy spiritual burden.

I remember how, without any reason, fights would suddenly erupt at home. Scissors would go missing, and we’d often see blood stains on the walls. Clothes would be torn as if someone had cut them with scissors. And many times, clothes would just disappear altogether. The frequency of these incidents lessened only after my father suffered a stroke, and all of us in the family started offering prayers and keeping fasts regularly. But even then, the sightings never stopped.

After my father passed away, my brother started sleeping in his room. A few days later, he came running into our room in the middle of the night, terrified, saying he had seen flying creatures in there. So my mother and I started reciting the Qur’an in that room daily. I still remember—one summer during Ramadan, I had just finished sehri (pre-dawn meal), made ablution, and sat down to recite the Qur’an. While reading, I dozed off.

And in that half-asleep state, I saw a girl enter straight through the netted door of my father’s room. I was paralyzed with fear—I couldn't even move. It felt like I was in sleep paralysis. As she came closer, I started reciting Allah’s name. She spoke and said, “Don’t be afraid of me. I also take Allah’s name. I just want to request that the bed you’re sitting on has my family living underneath it, and we get disturbed.”

And then I saw a child coming out from under the bed, riding a tricycle around the room.

That was the most unreal and drastic experience of my life, one I can never forget.

Many scholars have told me that I'm special, that I might have a natural connection between this world and the spiritual one. I don’t know if I have a psychological disorder… or if I truly possess some abilities I don’t yet understand.

Tell me in the comments—what do you all think?

To start, my grandmother passed 5 years ago. Me and her were really close. So I had been seeing weird shadow figures in the corners of my eyes all day, especially near the doorway of my kitchen and dining area.

My mom went into the kitchen to get a drink and I followed her in there. It was about 9 pm, so it was just a little dark. I turned on the lights and we kinda just started talking about school. She told me that she has a weird gut feeling that I’m gonna have a really good school year and we sort of talked about how her and my grandma have always been very intuitive and I kinda got that from them.

Then as we’re walking out of the kitchen, I pause right before I can even step out of the doorway. I felt this really really strange feeling in my chest, like something had just passed through it or something. And then I felt weirdly happy and I started crying. Like I couldn’t stop crying and shaking because it felt like my grandma was there. I didn’t realize that’s what it was until after. Anyways, my mom walked over to me and was panicking. She was asking me what’s wrong and when I told her, she said that the same thing happened to her in the past.

After that I saw way less shadowy figures. It’s almost like she stopped them or something. Does that make any sense? I continued to shake for 20 minutes afterwards.

So I guess I’m just wondering if it was really my grandma’s presence or if it was just me going insane??? 😭😭😭

So my grandmother passed away six years ago. when she passed, me and my sister had gotten her jewelry. Well, about four months later, I was in the bathroom putting on a set of her earnings. (my sister was also with me, doing makeup) As I was putting on the last earring, I heard a soft voice say my name. Clear as day. I snapped my head around towards the crack of the door, and no one was there. I turned back to my sister, and she looked like she was a deer caught in headlights. She heard it too.

This terrifies me because I’ve been dealing with new autoimmune health issues the last 4 months. I’ve been having a deep fear of death the last weeks and so scared I won’t live long. Then last night I had that dream

It really worried me bc it even said at the end maybe even today

It also wasn’t his voice i can’t even recall the voice but it wasn’t his voice. He only spoke Spanish and the voice was in English and just a random man voice
