Welcome to the Origami community!

This is a place for sharing finished origami projects, asking questions or simply talking to others about this wonderful hobby. It doesn't matter whether you're a beginner, intermediate or expert, this place is for all origamists alike!

When showing a finished project, please share the source diagrams or video whenever possible - either by posting a link (if it's a website or file) or by naming the title of the book, so others can try it too.

Kirigami (an origami variant where you don't only fold but also cut the paper) is welcome as well, but please mark your posts accordingly by putting [Kirigami] in the beginning of your title.

Other than that, please be respectful and nice to others! Thank you and have a nice stay!

I'm lucky enough to have a shelf in my office where I can display some of my favourite folds. The set up change as the models come and go, with some all-times favourites.

💀 Grim reaper 💀 🧙 Wizard's apprentice 🧙

The first one was folded with Kraft paper (40×40 cm). The second one with kami (15×15 cm)

There's a Pratchett's vibe about them, don't you think?

You can fold them using these videos: Grim reaper and Wizard's apprentice

Hey all!

Today I finally had time and an occasion to fold something - it's a present for a friend whose absolute favourite animals are lions. I used the following instruction video from Madiyar Amerkeshev's YouTube channel (I couldn't find any diagrams, though):

https://youtu.be/3ZSjkIlZyLw

The size of the paper I used (20x20 cm) resulted in a lion which is roughly 14 cm long and 6 cm high. It took me a few tries to get the right proportions especially of the chin and face - what you see here is my third attempt. I also took some liberties in shaping the lions back and repositioning one of the front leg to give the lion a more dynamic pose than shown in the video (the thumbnail shows another way to pose the front leg).

Other videos on this channel look promising as well, so the chances of me folding something else from Madiyar Amerkeshev in the future are quite high :)

Also please ignore the wrinkly fabric of my sofa lol
