Gday,

68yr old disabled (can move but very very slowly) man.

I have a friend the would help me out due to my immobility etc all the time. He got hit by a texting driver a couple of months ago and lost an eye, leg and is in traction from head to toe. He is ready to have visitors now. I am on a limited budget and can’t afford to cab there and back. I was wondering if I could get a ride to visit him from someone.

I am in Mississauga, Burnhamthorpe and Dixie area and would need a ride to Brampton Hospital. Visit for 30 mins or so and then head back.

I can afford to pay $20 in gas if it helps. Not being picky but I cannot get in and out of small cars due to my condition. I promise not to shake my fist at the clouds too much during the ride.

Drop me a note if you might be able to help or offer an alternative for me to get there.

Only two things make up 40% of Ontario ER admissions. Car crashes. Alcohol incidents.

Alcohol is also involved in dozens of extremely expensive chronic diseases.

If the devil came to me and asked me to destroy the Ontario Healthcare system as much as possible in order to introduce an american-style private system, here is what I would actually do.

I would ignore smart ideas to help the working class such as cutting the first bracket of the income tax or creating a tax break for those who take public transit. I would instead encourage Ontarians to drive as much as possible and consume alcohol. Fuck the fiscal sustainability of the Ontario healthcare system. We need to starve the beast and overwhelm its ressources.

That's exactly I would do if I was an american in charge of crushing the Ontario healthcare system.

Judge ruled that the removal of the 3 bike lanes will put 'people at increased risk of harm and death'

The judge ruled Wednesday that Cycle Toronto and others "have established that removal of the target bike lanes will put people at increased risk of harm and death, which engages the right to life and security of the person."

"But we also think that the responsibility for the safety of [low-income people] — and let's face it, it's low-income people who have this problem — that's a responsibility for society at large, for everyone, not just for the people who happen to own the buildings where these people make their homes."

"I hate these damn bike lanes. Screw your studies. I'm not reading that"

"Cut gas taxes. I see no reason why I should pay to support public transit"

"Fuck speed limits. I'm proud to break the law"

This sense of entitlement is insane.

After starving Ontario public education of funding, Premier Doug Ford wants to send police into schools to oversee the dysfunction he’s enabling.

A bill put forward by his provincial government would enable cops to conduct programs in schools, reversing years of organizing that had removed them.
