To summarize, you take the win percentage of every team and correct it against the win percentage of their opponents. Then you have a new win percentage. And I repeat that process until the correction factor is below .001. Essentially this is what I would expect the win percentages to be if the teams played an average team every week.

I mainly ask because, has there really been one?

Last year on the good end, the Giants were expected to be one of the worst teams in the league but started hot and eventually made the playoffs. The Seahawks similarly were mocked for attempting to remain competitive post-Russ trade, and also came out to look immediately better than they had. Jaguars (previous first overall pick) also looked good at the start of the season before a mid season lull and obvious eventual strong finish.

On the bad end, the Packers and Bucs both looked completely flat at the start of the season and the Rams, who had just won the Super Bowl, were absolutely dreadful.

Is there really a surprise this year at the midway point? I would have said the Bengals, but they seem to be getting back on track. I imagine most people wouldn’t expect that Cleveland would have been 4-3 after a very tough opening slate of games, but I think anyone being objective knew that team had talent. I really don’t know who my answer would be, it kinda feels like this season has gone “according to plan”

McDaniels went 11-17 as head coach of the broncos and then 3-0 with the raiders against the broncos. McDoofus really knew how to make the broncos lose

Lost in the lol McDaniels(Fuck him) isn't it kinda odd that a GM barely got one and half season to prove himself. Guessing both were a package deal but it's still odd he got fired this early. Has there ever been a shorter tenure for GM?

Hi everyone,

I'm a Canadian who watches some NFL (but more hockey and baseball) and would consider myself somewhat partial to the Buffalo Bills. I remember clearly when the Bills went to four straight Super Bowls in the early '90s, and lost all four. From the reading I've done on Reddit about those Bills teams, they really only had a true shot at winning the first one against the Giants (SB XXV in 1990), when Scott Norwood missed Wide Right. They were more or less dominated in the other three losses by Washington and Dallas.

If you look at those four losses in historical context, though, they were part of a larger trend. The AFC champion lost every SB to the NFC champion from XIX (1984) to XXXI (1996). This streak included four wins by San Francisco, three wins by Dallas, two wins each by Washington and the Giants, and one each by Chicago and Green Bay.

My question to you is: why was this the case? What made the NFC teams so dominant in the SB during this stretch of time, and conversely, why was the AFC so weak in the SB during this stretch? Has there ever been another time in NFL history when one conference dominated the SB so thoroughly?

In light of Jaren getting his first start this week, some interesting facts about the former BYU teammates.

• Jaren's birthday is March 24, 1998 and Zach's is August 3, 1999, making Jaren 497 days or 1 year and 4 months older.
• Jaren graduated high school in 2016, two years before Zach in 2018, but went on a 2 year mormon mission (Zach is a degenerate and skipped his mission).
• After both arriving at BYU in 2018, Zach wrestled the starting job away from incumbent senior starter Tanner Mangum and never looked back, keeping Jaren on the bench for 3 years
• A full 5 years after graduating high school, Jaren finally got his shot in 2021, starting for two years after Zach left for the NFL
• After all this, Jaren still had a year of eligibility remaining when he declared for the draft (he would have had this eligibility regardless of the covid year, as he was a medical redshirt in 2020)

Anyone feel that the recent deals kinda show the difference between the casual watcher and the more serious ones? Everyone freaking out over Chase Young being traded for less than Montez Sweat seems to either have not watched any football or maybe are just stuck in 2020?

As we get into the parts of the season, I was curious as to what players in general during bye weeks do during their time off after practice. I would imagine most spend time with family when they can, probably travel. In this article from Matt Bowen he said he enjoyed going to Iowa and seeing college teammates.

So I was wondering what you all heard about what players get up to during bye weeks when they are not practicing?
