So, in a university network with captive portal they seem to block Wireguard and Shadowsocks just fine, Wireguard can only operate under UDP over TCP obfuscation, which, as you know it's so slow.

For the first time today I wanted to give OpenVPN a try, it didn't work as Wireguard, but enabling OpenVPN bridges, and selecting a bridge server let me connect with a better and stable speed (with UDP over TCP, it's not stable at all, speedtest can even fail randomly in the middle, or any other process)

So, how do you retire OpenVPN while not providing a solution like this under Wireguard?

I often use mullvad for work in order to check for open ports on clients public firewalls. In the last few months I've noticed that my scans are no longer completing if I run a full scan (nmap -Pn -p- [ip address]). Mullvad will say it's connected, but I can reach anything until I reset the connection.

Anyone else having this issue?

I'm connected to a network with captive portal, on my phone the Mullvad connection using Shadowsocks is just fine, but on laptop it never gets connected to the Mullvad with Shadowsocks being enabled. I'm on 2025.7-beta1 (because there is a BSOD problem in 2025.5 and I have to use beta until next release) so any help? Currently UDP over TCP lets me connect to the Mullvad, but you know how slow it is.

Started having issues attempting to connect to any VPN. Would just say unable to block network traffic and ask me to report the issue.

Tried messing with WireGuard, Open, etc. to no avail. Same issue. Lockdown mode was off. Was going to just uninstall and reinstall but the uninstaller doesn't work now either. Says 'Uninstallation Aborted' 'Uninstall was not completed successfully'.

Used an uninstall tool called geek to force remove it and its registry entry, then tried to reinstall. Reinstall says mullvad is running and to close it, its not running and when I force close 'it' (which is just the installer, actual program isnt really running), it just stops the install obviously. When I say 'okay', it continues the install for a moment, then pops up with 'Failed to remove driver: error 0x5', when I click 'Ok' on that, it hangs there and does nothing.

Mullvad icon appears on desktop at this point, but its not functioning, and installer never completes. Just says please wait and hangs near the end forever.

This is the entire process as far as I know. Not sure what I did differently or how I broke it. Running these things as admin doesn't help either.

Hi! When I choose any country through mullvad relay set location ____, then run mullvad connect, I get no network connection. I try mullvad status and am always stuck on connecting. Every once in a while it will try to switch servers, but it is never able to connect. Any ideas on how to troubleshoot this?

Why, even though IPv6 is off in settings, its always on in the network adapter settings? (it creates new one every time mullvad connects to a server)

The IPv6 doesn't seem to be on but an IPv6 address is created, and I had a software bind to that IPv6 address!

Running Android 15 on a Pixel with GOS where I have Mullvad Beta installed for me to disable IPv6, as this caused several apps not to work when enabled. The mullvad app draws ~56% of my battery. Can this be reduced in any way, or do I have to live with it?

Hello, I’m attempting to set up a PLEX server and am nearing completion but I would like to make it so that only qbittorrent traffic goes through the vpn, I want everything else to go through my normal network. How do I go about doing this, I tried using openvpn and I get a connection error any help?(im using windows)

Hoping someone here has seen this before.

I only noticed this in the past couple weeks, but every time I enable Mullvad on my phone (Motorola Razr Ultra) it completely blocks calls coming in or going out. I've split tunneled every relevant system app I could find, disabled the DNS filters, tried a million different servers, and no luck.

Does anyone know of a way to fix this? I'm on AT&T if it helps.

Hi, does MullvadVPN support private VPNs?

The case: I have a TP-Link router on remote site that uses cell phones network (4G), and some devices are using this router for network access. This site is remote and each time something happens, I have to drive 1 hour with my laptop to reconfigure/reboot stuff.

I'm looking for solution where I can access my router and devices inside that network, so I thought about configuring OpenVPN (router supports only that), and making a tunnel.

Will it work with MullvadVPN?

Hello,

I am using Multihop and Daita, and the inbound/entry connection is sometimes IPv4 and other times IPv6.

Note that IPv6 is disabled in the settings, and the outbound connection is always IPv4.

Also:

When the inbound/entry connection is IPv6, Windows 11 shows an Ethernet icon. But when the inbound/entry connection is IPv4, Windows 11 shows a Wi-Fi icon.

Can someone check or explain if I have misunderstood something?

I just got the VPN today. I use windows folder sharing to access hard drives on my old pc on my new pc. Whenever I enable the Mullvad service it seems to disconnect the network share and I can't access the drives.

I'm sure it's a setting somewhere, I was wondering if anyone knows how I can fix it.
