Right-handed reliever Jorge López and the Mets are in agreement on a one-year, $2 million deal, a source told MLB.com's Anthony DiComo. The club has not confirmed the move.

A veteran with eight big league seasons under his belt, López spent the 2023 season with three teams, posting a 5.95 ERA with 49 strikeouts in 61 games between the Twins, Marlins and Orioles.

Carlyle Group founder David Rubenstein is in talks to acquire the Baltimore Orioles, according to a report from Gillian Tan of Bloomberg. The O’s are currently owned by the Angelos family.

It’s unclear at this point what stage the talks are at or if any kind of deal is close at this time. It also doesn’t seem like Rubenstein is the only person pursuing the club, as the report states that he is “among suitors pursuing a transaction.”

The young Reds are adding to their core with a veteran presence in the infield, agreeing to a deal with Jeimer Candelario, a source told MLB.com's Mark Feinsand late Wednesday night. The club has not confirmed the move, which is pending a physical.
