Memmy - An iOS client for Lemmy

I apologize if this has been asked or explained before. But, what does “Display Total Scope” do? I could have sworn that used to say “Display Total Score,” and always assumed it was like a karma thing. And then I realized I’ve apparently been reading it wrong this whole time. I tried toggling it on and off and haven’t noticed any change.

Hey, just wanted to suggest implementing haptic feedback on long pressing stuff (e.g. comments). The lack of it may seem small but actually makes the app feel a little bit unfinished. Currently, the pop-ups... pop up without any animation or other feedback.

It would be great if you can add long press context menus. For example in apollo you can long press on an image and the context menu with the options for copy, save... will come up.

I think it would be a great addition to the usability so you don't have to reveal and click on the little icon at the bottom

Suddenly it seems even my own communities which had a dozen subscribers display 3k. Is this a bug?

Hey all!

I am doing a rewrite right now of the state management so that we can scale a lot better. This is going to allow for a super seamless integration of mod tools as well as other integrations throughout the app.

I am aware of some issues with the drawer right now, especially whenever a user has a large number of subscriptions. We are working on clearing that up.

I'm also aware of some performance issues, especially on older devices. Two things are being done to correct this:

• Better state management
• Stripping out one of the UI libraries that is used and replacing it with either another library or raw React Native components.

These will probably be done by the end of the week. I think these are two things that are super important to knock out now to keep things scalable. I'm learning here as we move along, and am fixing things up as I see issues arise 👍

Just a request or bug but it is not possible to copy images from memmy to another app via the clipboard, you always have to save them and then use them in the other app

Would it be possible to filter an entire instance for posts?

I don’t mind comments from their users, but it’d be nice to completely hide posts based upon their default instance. (Yes, I could roll my own fediverse instance to defederate what I want to hide, but that is a lot of work for a layperson to do.)

I really want to use the Top\6 Hours and Top\12 Hours post sorts however I almost always have an issue seeing posts when using them. I may see 5-10 posts, but then the feed ends.

Is this limiting the amount of posts I see or have I possibly hidden every other post?

Everytime it happens, I assume its a refresh issue or something because no posts show up.

Anyone else experiencing this?

For example UKPersonalFinance@feddit.uk only actually has 71 subscribers currently.

When I click the eyeball, it gets rid of the read posts but then puts me in the same distance down the page that now has posts I haven’t seen above my current location in the feed. Not a big deal, as I can tap the top of the screen for the standard iOS pop to the top dealio, but this would be awesome to have in the future!

Whenever I launch Lemmy since the new update it will flash to dark mode and then back to the system setting.

Since the major overhaul update I have lost the Image Downloading pop-up :(

I noticed that it is impossible to go back and edit your post from inside the Memmy app once a post is made. I can only do that via the web interface.

I want to say thank you again to Culivio and all the users working to improve the app. This recent update is mindblowing! Good job!

When writing a comment or post, the area that displays the text editor is cut off midway. Most of the remaining text is just hidden and for someone who doesn't know it seems like it got deleted somehow.

Would it be possible to add a “filter by keyword” feature? If I could filter out all “hentai” and/or “furry” communities for example that would be a great timesaver. This could just be a simple substring match.

Along the same lines, it would be great if there was a lower friction way to block a community with say a gesture or menu at the post level.

Is it just me or do they all of a sudden look…I dunno, chintzy? I miss the Traverse icon too…

Is there some kind of option/setting to change the language of the Memmy UI to English? My device is set to German so I have a partial translated UI. If not, I hope that would be an option for one of the next releases!
