Hey, here is the final update for 06/24. Below is a list of all changes that were made:

• Performance enhancements. Button presses should no longer have a delay.
• Preloading of images. You shouldn’t see nearly as much delay between images loading while scrolling unless you’re on a potato connection in the middle of the ocean.
• Non-markdowned links should take you to the appropriate places. If someone posts /c/memmy@lemmy.ml, it will be linked to the community.
• User profile links now take you to the user profile.
• Fixed a crash on first login.
• Fixed NaN error whenever replying to a post or comment.
• Image modal is highly improved. It should be significantly faster to swipe around and should be much easier to dismiss with a swipe.
• Most images will now take up the full space. There appear to be a few issues with this from early reports and I’ll look into them more tomorrow.
• Haptic feedback is fixed when replying to comments.
• Fixed issue where video audio would continue playing in the background after closing the browser.
• Fixed issue where accounts would be reset if you made a bookmark.
• Fixed comments not collapsing at times.
• Adjusted themes. This is a work in progress. If there are any issues here let me know and we will address them (color theme is slightly change, but will be improved upon. We are getting ready to allow users to submit their own themes to have added into the app. We will let you know whenever this is available and how to submit your themes on GitHub)
• User profile page has been redesigned. This will be more full-feature in the coming day or so, including saved posts, upvoted posts, and recent history. Right now, only 50 comments and 50 posts will load. This will be converted to infinite scroll shortly.
• On that note, OTHER users profiles will be converted to this view tomorrow.
• Font should be larger now and SHOULD scale appropriately regardless of device. If you are having issues with really terrible font sizes, please reach out and we’ll look into it.

I've been super focused on making sure that performance is a top priority in the app. I test on lower end devices to make sure things run smoothly, and I've already ironed out a couple of issues that lead to poorer performance. Please let me know if you experience anything at all that seems slugish or slow.

Also, expect a bit of a treat in the next update :)

Hi, when commenting in communities that belong to feddit.de I always get a „language not allowed“ error. With the Mlem app there is no error and my text is published.

The line spacing in comments right now makes it hard to read bigger texts

I had the same gestures as Memmy in Apollo but also had it so if you swipe further from the right on any comment in a chain then it would close the top comment of that chain which was really nice. Would be cool to have this as an option.

Keyboard is showing as light in post title and dark in post body for some reason.

I’m on .69 and still seeing very large margins around some images. And dismissing image modals with a swipe up or down often takes 3 or 4 goes, and mostly they just bounce back to centre. Finally, zoom seems to ping the middle of the image, which makes zooming near the corner of an image problematic. The zoom pin point should be directly between the two touch points ok the image I think.

I made two posts in the same community and one says Imgur and the other says Lemmy.world why?

Apologies if I’m missing something obvious, but is there a way to sort comments on a post?

Thirst things first: Thanks to all who work on the app.

When i try to reply in german, the app gives me an error massage that I use the wrong language.

Very wide, short images such as the original in this post take up a lot of vertical space in the feed:

Would it be possible to get an option where you change the position of the communities e.g. Memmy in the feed with the position of the up and down votes?

Images in the feed now fit to screen. Also, images are preloaded once the info is received from the API so you don’t have to wait for them to load.

For that reason, I’ve also altered the refresh rate for getting new data, so as long as you’re not fast scrolling, you should see the loading wheel far less.

Update will also include other fixes and improvements (including a fix for what seems to be one of the two remaining crashes happening frequently. See you guys later!

It seems like it takes too much “swipe” to dismiss or close a picture. I’m coming from Apollo, which seems like it needs half the distance to close a picture.

Can currently not view anything, I’ve tried refreshing multiple times, reloading the app and downgrading. Has been going on for about an hour or two now.

Some communities will have a deluge of posts, which tend to astroturf the main feed. I loved the feature in Apollo that let us mark a sub as a favorite to make it easy to get to, without subscribing to it and having it hit the main feed.

Great app, loving it so far! Would be great to have an option to hide the username that’s showing at the top of the app. When showing memes or posts to friends they can easily spot my username. I would like to stay anonymous.

Negative downvotes?

Absolutely loving the app so far, and I'm impressed by the rollout speed, seems like every time I launch it, there's a new build with more feature completion. Keep up the amazing work!!

Obviously this is just a request and not a demand.

I have been enjoying my usage on the app immensely, but the one thing that is disrupting my workflow the most is the inability to swipe anwhere to the right/swipe from the left side of the screen to the right to access my subscribed communities.

I enjoy viewing my community pages to see all of the new posts submitted there, and then moving on to the next community. As my fingers are already swiping on the bottom half of the screen, it would be extremely useful to just swipe right to access a sidebar where I can see the other communities. Would something like this be possible, and put in the pipeline?

I have some Lemmy Accounts in Memmy that I’d like to remove. Any suggestions?

When I attempt to add my kbin.social account to Memmy, I get this error. Is this because kbin is different software compared to lemmy or is it a different issue?

This app is awesome and has been great to see how much its improved so quickly.

I’m noticed that there is a way to save posts. But unless I’m just overlooking it, I don’t see a way to go back and see the list of all my saved posts anywhere.

Edit: Actually it looks like the save button in the app doesn’t actually save anything. I pulled up the Beehaw website and nothing is in my saved items.😩
