Memmy - An iOS client for Lemmy

Would love to see these icons for each community in posts in the feed, like how WefWef and Apollo had :)

Not sure if this is just for content from kbin.social, but I’ve verified on another app and in the mobile web interface that the link is there.

I’m not sure if this is a me issue, a Memmy issue, or a Lemmy issue but every 3 posts or so when I’m scrolling will have an error submitting upvote, so I have to go into the post, tap retry loading comments 3-5 times, and then upvote the post ones the comments load. Not sure what’s going on or if this is being seen anywhere else.

When I close a post with a swipe from the left, I sometimes want to quickly return to my last position in my last open post. In Apollo, I could swipe from the right to return directly to my last position.

Would love thar feature.

When viewing an image in the main feed, the save and share icons are still missing if you're using compact mode. Disabling compact mode brings back the icons, and the icons are visible if you open the image from within the post.

My main account I want to use is at the bottom so I always have to switch to it. Is it possible to move it to the top?

I can save a post, and I can like reply. But can I save a reply?

As you can see, the light theme still has the status bar text set to white (left), so it can only be seen if you open a menu, so that the background is dimmed (right).

Hey, firstly - I absolutely love this app. Absolutely wonderful UI+UX, and a huge thank-you for the new OLED dark theme option.

One thing that could improve the UX for some users (myself included) would be a toggle to disable swipe gestures on comments, allowing you to swipe left to right from anywhere on the comments page to return to your feed. If I’m browsing comments holding my phone right handed, and swipe to return I find myself consistently voting unintentionally since the swipe activation area is only a thin section at the left edge of the display. It’s one of the only features I’ve been pining for since the loss of Apollo (I suppose that outs me as a reddit refugee…the horror)

This option is a very minor QOL feature tbh and certainly I understand that many more important features take priority over something like that, but figured I’d make the suggestion nonetheless since it could help accessibility and further refine what is already a quite seamless browsing experience.

Placing community name

Thanks for the awesome app guys!

I have two feature requests that were part of my regular way of using Apollo before:

• in Memmy, we can already swipe from the left edge of the screen to right to go back to the feed while reading comments. Sometimes I want to go back to reading the comments after having gone back to the feed. This used to be possible in Apollo by swiping from the right edge of the screen to left, but in Memmy this will trigger a reply/comment to the post that happens to be there.

• Apollo had a button in the bottom right corner of the screen that allowed you to jump to the next top level comment in the thread. This was especially handy in very reply rich posts.

I’d be really happy if these features could be added. As I said, I really appreciate your work! Cheers

Anyone having issues scrolling where it would say cannot load, and suddenly send you back to the start?

I apologize if this has already been requested, I really like Memmy and it would be great to sort posts by top X hours.

is it just me or reading a mastodon post in your lemmy feed is super confusing? it’s like they’re speaking to somebody else and you’re just there watching them talk about something else

I have a Lemmy.world account, and this account. But because I added the .world account first, that’s the one that the app loads first. But since the performance of .world has been less than ideal lately, I’d prefer this account load by default.

Okay @memmy is getting good. Feels more and more like reddit (but in a good way). And #Lemmy itself has grown so much this week! Glad to see we haven't just gone to the Reddit app.

I’m curious if there are any plans of adding proxy support (e.g. socks5) to Memmy? If not, could that be added as a future feature? Thanks!

Just noticed after this last update that if you look at an image you can no longer swipe it up or down to make it go away. Went to settings to see if it was a issue with how I have Memmy set up and it would seem the gestures area is non existent

Seems if your profile fails to load (lemmy.world servers) hitting retry doesn’t seem to actually retry.

Even if I change to a different account I can’t load the new profile unless I restart the app

The changes with the latest update for compact view as well as the addition to toggle system font make the field look fantastic. Memmy is really coming along nicely 👍

The thumbnail is black with a link icon, but in the post- there is no link to access. I’m assuming these are all posts that should have links to sites on them- but none are showing.
