Memmy - An iOS client for Lemmy

I have accounts on several instances. When I seemingly switch between instances (using the drop-down menu at the top of the screen), the posts remain the same. For example, posts stickied by mods on Beehaw will still be visible when I switch to lemmy.world. My profile won’t be visible, either.

Apologies, I don’t know how to report bugs. Is this a known issue? Is the answer something obvious that I can fix myself? Do I even report bugs here? Do you need more information? Please excuse my ignorance, and THANK YOU for a great app (which I’m using right now)!

I just wanted to say thank you so much for this app. When I joined Lemmy on the 23rd of June I did it with the aid of Memmy. It really eased the pain of Apollo’s passing.

It felt good to give my 5 stars on the App Store, and even better watching Memmy break the top 100 social apps.

I’m gonna stay in test flight and try to be a help if I can

Apollo had that and was veeeery handy When you scroll through your feed or a community have a share button - either in the middle of the post or maybe replace the bookmark (as an option of course)

The quickest way to share a post to the wife! 🙂

If I select “New” that is now on the bottom on the list the app is crushing.

It’s been so awesome watching this whole thing come together (and so quickly). Thanks for all the hard work that’s been put into this project, and for creating such a great app!

Has this been reported already? On occasion, some images aren’t possible to close with a swipe action.

Liftoff has option to search users to link and will input the correct syntax. See image.

Newish to Lemmy and not sure if that’s just a URL or also a tag that notifies the user. Looks like typical URL with text.

Maybe this is already possible and I just don’t know how?

My instance has two pinned posts that are always at the top of my feed. Is there a way to hide them within Memmy?

Not sure if this is implemented already so forgive me if it is. I would like to disable swiping to vote on posts/comments. I like to navigate with swipes and often times find myself accidentally upvoting instead of leaving the post.

What does this option enable/disable in the settings? I've toggled it on and off, but can't see where something changes.

When opening a discussion/comment from your profile / history you only see the replies to your comment.

Is there any way to expand all the replies to the topic? I don’t see any way do to that?

Two great #ios apps that #Fediverse folks should know about:

1. Mona is full-featured Mastodon app. Several features are available in a paid Pro version with a one-time fee to support development. I liked Metatext but Mona is better!
2. Memmy is a Lemmy app, providing a #Reddit type experience.

I cannot enable notifications for instance Lemmy.ca but I can for Lemmy.world. When I try to enable notifications for instance Lemmy.ca, it get stuck on the loading screen and I have to force close the app.

I was adding links to a post and replies through the in app link add option, e.g. ddg but I can’t seem to open them, clicking them doesn’t do anything

I think this was an Apollo feature but I could be wrong - I would like to turn off the new upvote/downvote/reply buttons for a more compact view (which I know I can do currently) and use the Upvote/Downvote count at the top of the comment as those buttons. Would remove redundancy if the new buttons and keep the comments more compact.

When I open it in Memmy, I can’t get to that website no matter where I tap

Is there an easy way to bookmark a post from the main feed? From what I can tell, it isn't possible to do so using any gestures. Personally, I'd find more use out of bookmarking posts with a gesture than I would being able to reply from a gesture. I rarely reply without actually opening the post first. The same can't be said regarding bookmarking one.

When searching for communities, it would be handy to see how many subscribers each has. This would make it easier to find communities of a size we are looking for.
