The legislation would impose monthly fees on community solar operators, changing the rules for existing projects and making the state a “pariah” for investors.

Simple enough. Susan Collins and her republican collegues are crashing the global economy so they can consolidate more wealth. As her constiutents we are owed insider trading tips. She cannot make all the free money while we pay her salary. She must share. They pump and dumped SP500, the Bond market is next. Global bond holders will start a sell off soon, they will allow rates to rise drastically befofe the federal reserve steps in and makes all the front runners billionaires. We want to front run this move. Call susan collins and ask her when she is buying US Bonds and what % point they will pump them.

It was just like the SP500 climbing 10% on the back of a trump tweet. This is extremely criminal and we are all going to end up very poor if we end up the victims of this scheme.

Summary:

Lawmakers are calling on the Social Security Administration chief to resign after internal emails revealed that the administration shut Maine off from the late-age insurance program in retaliation for publicly defying the MAGA agenda.

Representative Gerry Connolly called Tuesday for the resignation of Leland Dudek, the acting commissioner of social security. In a release, Connolly’s office shared emails sent by Dudek in which the DOGE acolyte inquired to his staff about which contracts Maine had with his agency and ultimately chose to cancel them, despite being aware that doing so would increase fraud and waste.

“Despite reinstating the contracts on March 7, 2025, and claiming that he did not intend to harm the people of Maine, the emails obtained by the Committee show that Acting Commissioner Dudek knew of the negative impacts of cancelling the programs and was willing to hurt the people of Maine and waste taxpayer money to avenge President Trump,” Connolly’s office wrote.

Summary:

Maine Gov. Janet Mills on Monday brushed off President Donald Trump’s weekend demand that she issue a “full throated apology” for publicly challenging him during a White House event last month.

The governor responded to Trump’s social media post while at a public event in Bangor. But it was not an apology.

Mills contested Trump’s claims that he wants to protect women through his executive order barring transgender athletes from women’s sports, pointing out that women in the United States and around the world will be hurt by his moves to eliminate foreign aid, attack Social Security and Medicaid, and impose tariffs that will spark trade wars and drive up consumer prices.

“If the current occupant of the White House wants to protect women and girls, he should start by protecting the women and teenage girls who are suffering miscarriages and dying because they can’t get basic, lifesaving health care in states across this country,” Mills said, according to media reports from the Bangor event. “If he truly cares about women and girls and people of this country, let’s see the economic plan. Let’s see the health care plan. Let’s see the education plan.”

Mills, who was in Bangor celebrating the purchase of a mobile home park by its residents under a new state law, added that “if he cares about women and girls, he should talk about the little girls and boys and infants in Sudan and other countries who are dying right now because he has cut off their supply of food and lifesaving medicines.”

Summary:

President Donald Trump is demanding a “full throated apology” from Maine Gov. Janet Mills in his spat with the state over transgender athletes, implying his administration will continue to target the state unless he gets one.

The Democratic governor got into an argument with the president during a governors’ meeting at the White House in February, telling the president “we’ll see you in court” when he threatened to pull federal funding from the state if it failed to comply with his order to ban trans athletes from playing in women’s and girls sports.

His administration subsequently opened overlapping investigations into Maine, including probes launched by the Departments of Education, Health and Human Services and Agriculture.

The president in a Saturday morning Truth Social post demanded Mills deliver a “full throated apology” for her earlier comments and promise to never pose a “challenge” to the federal government again.

“While the State of Maine has apologized for their Governor’s strong, but totally incorrect, statement about men playing in women’s sports while at the White House House Governor’s Conference, we have not heard from the Governor herself, and she is the one that matters in such cases,” Trump wrote. “Therefore, we need a full throated apology from the Governor herself, and a statement that she will never make such an unlawful challenge to the Federal Government again, before this case can be settled.”

It was not clear what apology from the state of Maine he was referencing, or what apparent case was being settled. The White House declined to comment on the president’s post or clarify what consequences the governor and her state could face for not apologizing.

Personally I'm absolutely for ditching CMP, I don't think a state enforced monopoly can be owned by a company without them exploiting their position. I'm also not a huge fan of them be Saudi owned. I figure a community owned power company could make some great changes. I don't have much inside knowledge about them but I do know the data they give their contractors is garbage. I'm curious if anyone has any other information about either CMP or Pine Tree Power and how they feel about them.

Didn't see there was a Maine community set up outside of one semi-abandoned one in the Lemmy community search, so here we are!
