Original Title: LPT: When applying for a job, save the job description as a PDF. Companies often take the listing down during the interview process, and having it lets you review the exact qualifications and responsibilities beforehand.

Original Title: LPT: If you're on a phone call with someone who's talking non-stop and it's getting boring, tell them to hold for a moment because you have another urgent call coming in. Wait for about 30 seconds before releasing the hold. This will disrupt their flow and hopefully shorten the conversation.

I had to get a new router and it has the ability to create a guest network on the App. Since every device on the previous router had to be reconnected to Wi-Fi on the new router I decided to to put my kids tablets/laptops etc on the guest network. Now when they don’t complete chores or homework when asked I can simply take away the coveted WiFi that this generation so desperately needs to function. I already have screen time limits etc set up on devices but sometimes you need to be able to take it a step further if they need a little more motivation to take care of their responsibilities.

If you like what rosemary (the herb) does to your soups and broths, but don't care for the strong flavor when eating it directly, a sprig does wonders but for those of us who only have access to the leaves, using a tea ball contains the leaves but imparts their flavor. I use it for bay leaves as well, all in one tea ball on a chain, and my chicken noodle soup is one of my most requested. I imagine the same could be done with chunks of cinnamon or chicory.

I’m 21 and have been an avid reader for about six years. However, recently, gaming has completely taken over, and now I find reading books pretty boring. It feels like I’ve lost the habit, and I just can't seem to get back into it. I used to enjoy reading, and it even helped with my vocabulary and fluency. But now, even though I want to get back to it, I’m struggling.

Has anyone else experienced this? Any tips or methods that might help rekindle my love for reading? I'd really appreciate any advice on how to break this gaming habit and enjoy books again!

Original Title: LPT : If someone keeps bugging you for your phone number and doesn't take the hint, give them the phone number to the Rejection Hotline : 605–477–3018. It will distract them long enough to leave you alone for the night.

Original Title: LPT: When negotiating your salary, always let the employer give the first number. If they ask for your expected salary, politely say you're open based on the role's responsibilities. This way, you avoid undervaluing yourself and can negotiate up from their offer.

Original Title: LPT A very simple tip that seems like nothing, but is great. At the end of the day you should list things that you've learned today. A "today-learned summary". I have no scientific proofs but it improves learning noticably. Recalling to strengthen memories.

Before sleep because the brain does that "what have i learned today" to consolidate memory, you can refresh it only while awake, as long as you can check it, or check today's notes.

I do that for language learning, helps.

I often find my mind racing between different thoughts, kind of monkey mind. It hurts my ability to focus on work or daily tasks. It feels overwhelming and I struggle to get back to what I was doing.

What tips, hacks or habits have helped you calm your mind and regain focus quickly?

Thanks in advance!

I genuinely don’t know how people just… walk up to others and start conversations at events.

Like I’ll be at a networking thing, see a group talking, and my brain just goes “nope.” I stand there awkwardly, fake texting or pretending to look busy, hoping someone magically pulls me into a convo. Spoiler: they never do. I mean even if i do it is not professional or does not come out in a formal way, i get embarrassed idk.

And it’s not that I don’t want to connect, I do. I know how important this stuff is for career growth. I’ve literally missed out on potential gigs, collaborations, or even just good advice because I couldn’t bring myself to say “hi” or hand over my info in a smooth, non-weird way.

Even when I finally manage to talk to someone, I fumble when it’s time to exchange details. Like, do I give them my Insta? My LinkedIn? Should I write it down? Half the time I just say “I’ll find you online later” and we both know that’s not happening.

Idk man. I wish I was one of those people who could just confidently walk in, connect, and walk out with five new contacts and an opportunity or two. Instead I leave wondering what I missed out on again.

I was writing an email this morning to a potential partner for a collab. Massive opportunity. I had a draft open, typed out a rough version, and meant to come back to it after getting a coffee.

But I had already typed their email into the “To” field.

Guess what happened???

I accidentally hit Command + Enter (Mac shortcut to send) instead of Cmd + K to add a link. It's sent. Half-written. No subject line. Too many typos. Very casual tone. Not even a proper signoff.

I panicked. Followed up with another email apologising and attaching the "REAL" message, but you know how it is. The damage is done. First impressions matter.

What did I learn? Always write the email address last. That one tiny change can save you from situations like this, whether you’re emailing your boss, a client, or someone you’re trying to impress. LOL. I wish I could go back and change how I approached this.

I have a small insolated shed, about 8 m2. Since my children are taking up more space in the house, I was wondering if there was something I could do, in the shed, that would be more productive and fun, than just sitting my easy chair, looking at my phone :)

Many house fires are caused by overheating lithium batteries during charging. Charging on soft surfaces like beds, couches, or under blankets traps heat and dramatically increases fire risk. Always charge devices on a hard, flat, ventilated surface. It takes zero extra effort and can literally save your home or your life.

Scammers are now using AI tools to clone voices of family members, coworkers, or even bosses. All they need is a short audio clip (like from a TikTok, podcast, or voicemail), and they can generate a fake “urgent call” asking for help or money. These calls feel very real the voice sounds just like your spouse, your child, or your friend. That’s what makes them so dangerous.Even a quick double-check can prevent a major financial or emotional scam.....

I don’t know what’s up with me lately, but I’ll have a full conversation with someone, nod, laugh, say things back and then five minutes later I’m like, “wait…what did we even talk about?” 😵‍💫 It’s like my brain was there for the vibes, but not the content. Also i zone out mid-way convo and am just nodding my head??

I thought maybe I was just tired, but it keeps happening. Even with stuff I care about I’ll hear something important, then boom, gone. No trace. Just weird fragments and a vague feeling like “yeah that sounded useful, I think??” Idk if it's work stress or some other thing, but there are always different things going at once, so i don't end up remembering the conversation or making notes.

It’s honestly been kind of embarrassing, especially when people circle back and I’m like “uhhh remind me again?”

One thing that’s kinda been saving me lately and I’m not saying it’s perfect in any way but basically what just works for me, I just dumping my thoughts right after a conversation ends. Like literally, I’ll just grab my phone, open voice notes, and start rambling. “Okay, she said to check that doc, I need to follow up on whatever that thing was about Friday, and yeah, don’t forget to fix that mess I made last week.” That kind of stuff. No structure, no full sentences, nothing cute. Just straight-up chaos type shi while it’s still fresh, before it disappears into the black hole that is my attention span. It sounds stupid, but it actually helps.

It’s stupid simple, but weirdly effective. idk if this is just late-20s burnout or our brains short-circuiting from too much input, but if you’ve been in the same boat, try it. And if you’ve got tricks for actually remembering sh*t people say please, I’m begging you, drop them below.

Its not a guarantee, but sometimes they can help. I had a transfer from one credit card to another. The payment check was mailed and it took an unexpected extra week getting to the company I was transferring from, resulting in $300 of deferred interest. I called and talked to customer service. Was calm and respectful. I explained my situation and told her I don't know if she can help or not and she was able to waive the interest (since the transfer check did cover the entire balance).

A few years ago I had an automatic payment go through before my check hit my account, causing an overdraft. My credit union also very kindly removed the fee after I called and explained what happened. It might not happen always, but if you make a mistake and call sometimes those mistakes can be forgiven.

This one question helped me resolve arguments in relationships, work, and even with customer service. It shows you're not trying to “win” — you’re trying to understand. People often soften once they feel heard, and their ask is usually more reasonable than you expected.

If you are a sweaty person like myself, commuting in the summer can be tough. It’s not fun to start the day with your shirt sweat through, knowing you’re then going to have to sit in a 63 degree room for the rest of the day.

I started packing a change of clothes and wearing athletic clothes to work, then changing when I got there. It’s made my days so much more pleasant, and I’m sure my coworkers appreciate it too. Extra perk is some people think you’re a productive person who’s working out in the mornings.

Oh my god! I can’t even begin to tell you all how much this has helped me. I used to constantly get this thought…Oh wait did I lock the door, did I turn the geyser off, did I shut the windows etc etc. I used to get halfway to work and instantly panic.

But now before I leave, I just snap a quick pic of everything: locked door, switched-off geyser, closed windows, etc.

It sounds silly, but scrolling to that one pic during the day instantly shuts up my anxious brain. I’ve been doing this for months now and it works every single time.

Just try it out. It really helps.

People love feeling helpful and knowledgeable. If you need to break the ice or start a deeper conversation, ask for their opinion or advice. This simple act builds trust and encourages more open, genuine communication.

One thing I’ve learned as a digital nomad is to never assume the Wi-Fi will be good, even if the listing says “fast internet.” Before booking a longer stay, I always ask for a speed test screenshot or do a quick test myself if I can visit the place first. It’s saved me from getting stuck in spots where I couldn’t even join a video call. A quick check can save a lot of stress, especially if you rely on a stable connection for work.

If you're buying a device with the intention of using it for the next 3–4 years rather than upgrading annually avoid making the purchase on launch day. Wait 1–2 months to let real user feedback surface, rather than being influenced by promotional content and marketing hype. By the time you purchase the product

  • Bugs & Issues are already fixed
  • Price might Drop with some extra Deals
  • Real-World Reviews can be obtained.
