I use swipe gestures to navigate my phone and it's easy to accidentally swipe once too many resulting in the app closing. Would be great to have a setting, requiring confirmation before quitting the app to prevent this.

The ability to add and modify custom tags, that only your account would see, to any user was essential for me on Sync for Reddit. I think with the huge influx of new users on Lemmy and Kbin, as well as the massive amounts of bot accounts that we've also seen being created, it's certainly a useful feature to have I hope it also gets added to Connect.

In terms of priority, this may not be that critical, but the sooner it's added, the sooner people can manage our experience and navigate better. This feature was what kept me with Sync and getting Sync Pro, despite a kerfuffle at the time; because I had invested time in tagging users and didn't want to repeat the effort and start from scratch with another app.

Right now when you hit Return (or it actually turns to a ✔️ in the search bar), all it does is close the keyboard. I think the better behaviour would be to do the search.

Right now we only have the Frontpage (subscribered communities), local (Instanz) and all, something I miss would a similar feature like multireddits we had on reddit. An own Feed or multiple different Feeds with each their own subscribed communities. Pluspoint if these communities do not show up in the Frontpage list :)

Is there a way to search for communities in this app? I see two different search icons (one in the top bar and one in the sidebar) but neither of them turn up results when I type in the name of a community that I know exists. Maybe I'm doing something wrong.

Hi, no update yesterday as I was out of town but now we're back to the usual release cadence. This release brings an image uploader to comments (and other places), swipe to go back navigation, a new icon, and more.

I'm getting overrun with these even when the site is working fine. Sometimes will even have a post load, but as I'm reading it it'll disappear and I'll get a bunch of bad gateway popups at the bottom.

At the moment it seems to have cooled off after some minutes ago when it was happening constantly, but since it seemed (to my very untrained eye) to be unrelated to server maintenance I wanted to bring this up.

Edited to add - I had to uninstall and reinstall Connect, but now that has largely fixed the errors. I continually got error messages saying Lemmy.world was down for maintenance when it wasn't, but since reinstalling it it's been fine.

I'm not sure if this is a general Lemmy thing or specific to Connect somehow, but occasionally I come across comments that are shown as deleted. Does anyone know why this happens?

I would love to have an option to auto mark as read post as I scroll down the feed. Coupled with the option to hide read posts, it's incredibly useful.

Hello, past sync for Reddit user here. I heard connect was a good app to use as it had similar look and feel here on Lemmy. I was using for a day or two when I spotted this in my duckduckgo app tracking protection screen. I can't say I have come across an app using so many different trackers, any reason I am not aware of for all these? Thanks

We need an ability to save drafts of comments. As far as im aware I don't think this app has that.

It's incredibly demoralizing and frustrating to have a comment or post you worked on dissapear because I tried to go back and look at the thing I was commenting on.

Also, there should be a preview window of what im replying to when commenting on posts so I dont need to back out in the first place.

I feel very stupid, is there an incredibly obvious way to save images which I don't see? I tried touching, long touching, pressing the more options menu but I can't see anything

UPDATE:fetched the latest update from Google play and now I see the three dots. Nothing to see here, move along.

Sorry if this is a dumb question or been asked before but I am struggling to find the 'communities' button if there is one, where you can view all? I saw it on a Lemmy guide but they were using a different app. Does anyone know the best way to find new without having to search for something specific? At the minute I am browsing all and finding things by chance. Thanks!

I'd love the ability to change the settings of a specific account. For example, I'm able to switch between lemmy.world and lemmynsfw.com accounts. When I'm logged into my '.world' identity I want to blur NSFW images, but when I'm logged into my 'nsfw.com' identity I would like to have them marked as 'Always Show'.

Also I would like the flexibility of changing the display settings (card, full-width etc.) on a per account basis.

Do you think this would be possible in a future update?

If I click on a post, read it then go back to the community page it does show anything to highlight if I've been on the post already. Makes it difficult to scroll/view posts.

I've got it to hide read posts but that's only on refresh.

Title. The issue seems only to go away when sorting by New. I do have "hide read posts" enabled, but I highly doubt that I've read all the active or top posts in all the fediverse.

I can see that there's a top 10 communities for your local instance but finding more is impossible.

Loving the app so far, but eing able to tell how many subscribers are in a community when searching without having to navigate to and view the about page would be really nice to have.

Hi everyone, I'm new to Lemmy and trying out a few different Android apps. So far Connect seems really good! In still trying to figure everything out though. Is there a way to limit my feed to my subscribed communities (rather than Local or All) in Connect? Hope you are all having a lovely day!
