I enjoy how we can change the colors for other elements, being able to choose a color for the up/down votes would be really helpful too. Or maybe just make it the same color as regular text.

The red text on black background creates a nasty floating text optical illusion and is hard to read.

I also want to say wow you've made a ton of great improvements on this app since the first couple of days. Very cool work!

Edit: Maybe the color looks ok with two eyes, I only have one so it might just be me. I'm kinda interesting in other people's thoughts on it too.

Received a gif in private messages of a nude woman shitting from a user with slur-filled username n-word n-word f-word, home instance lemmy.world, which I can't post here because of the slurs in their username.

Is there a way to delete the message, and report the sender? I already blocked the sender, but the gif is still in my inbox.

I'm on version 1.0.95 on Android. Google pixel 6 pro. Any thoughts?

I would love to hear what you guys think of this. Personally, I'd prefer the app to remember the scroll position of the selected comment when pressing the next and prev. comment buttons instead of positioning the at the top. So for example, if I have a comment in the middle of the screen and press the next button. I want the next comment to appear at the same height as the previous one.

It's a minor difference but it would greatly improve the use of those buttons for me if they stayed in the same place so that you can quickly skip multiple comment in succession.

Edited to add: this was added in the latest update. Sorry for not checking before posting... Also thanks for a wonderful app!

Any chance we could get a setting to toggle the display of avatars in comments?

Currently, posts show as c/example. This is clean, but makes it confusing if you are browsing all and there are other instances hosting the same community name. Can we have an option to show the full instance + community name in the post preview?

Love the app, btw.

EDIT: This is a setting, and I am apparently illiterate. "Include instance tags in names" as part of general settings, for other dummies like me.

Has anyone else noticed that not all comments are showing up under posts? For example, I'll get a notice that someone has posted a comment, I tap to go see it in the thread, and nothing is there. I then manually navigate to the post to view all the comments and only a fraction of them appear instead of all of them.

I was looking at the settings for Connect, hit "Save Settings" before closing, and now some of my phone's default colors have changed. I have lime green and mint for random text in different applications. Using a Google Pixel 7 Pro. Anyone else notice this?

This is new, right? It feels really confusing to have it on the left.

There's a threshold, the exact number I haven't figured out yet, where connect has trouble with multiple accounts.

I have what is lovingly called "the bathroom tablet" that's there for guests. Yesterday, a fairly decent sized group was over, and they've made the migration to lemmy, so connect now has a dozen accounts on it.

Switching between them causes each account to be "lost", where you switch, and the account you're switching to is not logged in, and the one you switched from is now logged out.

Edit: the threshold seems to be around five or six accounts. At least, that's where the behavior stopped after a few experiments. Five doesn't do it at all, six only does it maybe 1/10 tries.

Haven't had a chance to sit down with the guys and try to whittle the list down to see what the threshold is yet. Don't have their login info, so there's no point yet

Hi, Is there a way to read the post and swipe to the next post, while hiding this post when I get back to my home? I'm having trouble getting used to navigating this app. Especially having to hold and swipe far right to hide each post individually. I also hate that before hiding the post there is the save option. Can I change this somehow?

I usually copy the links of the attached files I want and then use the corresponding tool to download them (gallery-dl, yt-dlp, whatever).

I noticed that there's an option "Copy Permalink" on the menu. The thing is this option links to the post itself (something like https://lemmy.world/post/1631662, for example), which doesn't work when there are external files attached to the post (files from Reddit, Youtube, etc). So that I have to necessarily go the post and only then I'll have the desired link.

Would it be possible to add an option "Copy Link" to the menu which links to the attached data and not the permanent post? It would be much appreciated.

Since last two beta updates, Back navigation button doesn't respond.

Hi there,

Would it be possible to export blocked instances to a file that can then be imported? I ask because these are lost when I clear data to fix issues.

Additionally, the list only scrolls when using the left hand of the screen, it might be good to have it on the right as I always naturally do this before realising.

Thanks for the great app

Picture: Top half shows creative@beehaw.org's about community page in connect. There's only an unsubscribe button. It stays when being hit. Bottom half shows the same community's options in the web app. The subscribe option ("Abonnieren") is still available here.

Hi, I am new to Lemmy and Connect and I have been enjoying the content thus far.

I have had an issue when scrolling in Connect for awhile where the screen will go black (no icons or text at all) and I will have to restart the app. Before that happens I notice that the items start to fill in more slowly and the scrolling gets a little janky. It seems like a memory leak that builds up.

I'd like to be able to set different default sorts for the 3 main feeds (front page, local, all). Personally, I like sorting my front page feed by "new", and the other two by "hot." In the current version of the app, I need to manually switch the sort each time I switch feeds (which is a pretty minor inconvenience, but hey! Isn't that what feature requests are for!).

As a side note, I've been absolutely loving the app so far. Keep up the great work Kuro!

Full URL links to communities appear to open fine - even if the instance isn't aware of that community (hurray! thank you for this, it's ace!)
However, links with exclamation marks seem to try to open a user.

I'm going to try putting one in here, but I'm posting from kbin so it might go a bit weird or not exhibit the same problem.

Firstly, sorry if I'm making any mistakes in how I'm posting this. I love the app but there are two main issues that bug me and they both pertain to external links.

Let's say I followed a link to a Wikipedia article, and within that article clicked a link to a second article. If I then press the back button (on the android bottom bar), it takes me all the way back to the Lemmy comments, not to the previous article. It would be much better if it just took me to the previous page I was on.

Also, now that I have been returned to the comments, they are completely reset. It would be much nicer if my location in the comments were preserved, as well as all collapses, so I could seamlessly continue from where I left off.

I hope devs would consider adding a wildcard way of blocking anything (usernames, titles, communities or instances)

I appreciate all you do and will continue to use this app vs anything that takes me back to That Place. But a hide read from feed would be amazing.

Thank you so much, Quicksand

The bottom bar nav is awesome (it's a bit weird looking still but I like the functionality a lot) but when I start scrolling I'd prefer if it hit itself like the top bar to make more room for content :)

Hi there! I'm coming from Joey for Reddit and have a few QOL requests I would like to see implemented.

First, quickly double-tap any post or comment to upvote, and a slow double-tap to downvote.

Next, single tap any comment to collapse it. This should be an optional feature in settings.

Any other customizability features, such as font and colors, would also be appreciated!
