I just switched over to Android and I'm enjoying the connect app so far!

I did have a question about the swipe sensitivity though. When I swipe to upvote a comment I constantly keep swiping too far and end up saving the comment instead.

I checked through the settings, but unless I'm missing something, it doesn't seem there's a way to slow down the swipe feature.

Edit: In case it helps, I'm using a OnePlus 9.

Hi, mostly small improvements in this release. I spent a bunch of time on a horizontal swipe to go to the next post but it still needs some work. Anyways if you want to check it out it's under an Experimental tag at the bottom of settings. If you use List view I hope you like this release as I made some improvements to the List view layouts.

Could there please be an option somewhere in the setting to turn off the thing where it shows you your comment after you post it.

All it does is it makes me lose my place in the thread.

What a lot of the Reddit apps used to do is just highlight (as in with a colour) your comment you've just made so you know it's been submitted, but otherwise don't change to a different view.

Obviously make it an option, I can see why some people may find it useful

Profile image is fixed for me in this release. Thank you.

Now I'm getting nested replies in with my comments in the profile area. Also I had to post this from another app. Connect shows the name of the community you're posting to but it doesn't show up in the "button list" to select.

Edit: Also unable to edit comments.

If a community isn't known to the instance, Connect shows a blank page with "could not find a community with that name". I'm on a small instance, so clicking new communities tends to lead to this error rather than showing the community. (tbf the web interface for Lemmy pretty much does the same thing) If I first search for the full URL on the web interface, Connect will then find it. Is it possible for Connect to work around this issue, by maybe doing a search for the full URL and retrying before showing this error?

Updated the app this morning to 1.0.69 on a OnePlus Nord CE 5G running Oxygen OS 13. When it starts I get the splash-screen and it just stays there. Posting via LiftOff & Jerboa is still OK. Re-install no change

v1.0.72 fixed the issue

Idk if it's just me but rn there's no right swipe just left swipe. I have muscle memory from Apollo and infinity. So if we can customize the swipe gestures that'd be great.

The filtered words don't save capitalization, but the filtering doesn't work on capitalized words

Not sure if it would be better to apply to both or if you would have to include both in filtering

I keep accidentally commenting using the wrong account. I'd love a way to confirm what account I'm posting from, without losing anything I've typed. Maybe just add a "posting as" note or account selector near the community name.

I use jerboa, liftoff, and connect. Connect is the only one that has this kind of tracking going on.

Hello,

I randomly downloaded Connect for Lemmy, but I've never used apps on my phone for social.

When I try to view comments I get the error message "couldnt_get_comments"

I'm not sure what could be causing the problem. It makes the app worthless, but I don't want to give up on it if I'm doing something wrong.

Has anyone else had the error message and resolved it?

Since updating to the July 7th update the app stays stuck on the loading screen.

The hamburger menu at the top left is really hard to reach, especially on a 6>8" S23 Ultra 💀

A bottom navigation bar like ones seen in the Play Store and YouTube would be great, albeit material you-ified

Tapping the post form submit button results in an error that says to pick one of the ten communities listed which I guess are those that horizontally scroll under the "community name" form field. So I guess I can only post to those.. not sure why it's limited. It's a bug unless I missed a new setting.

My instance restarted while browsing Lemmy. The error message output is raw html rather than a user-friendly message.

Not a huge deal but wanted to point it out.

Also, not sure if it's a bug but subscriptions are not refreshed on the left bar when subscribing/unsubscribing. Is there a way to trigger a refresh?

One more bug, just found out. I tried posting this using obviously Connect but got an error saying something like it wasn't clear to what community I was posting this even though lemmyconnect @ lemmy.ca was right there in the community field.

I've found that the text markup toolbar (is that what it's called?) does not function in Connect when replying to an existing post. Tapping on any icon has no impact.

However if I'm creating a post, like this one, then it works fine.

Is this by design or is it some sort of bug or limitation?

This would be a nice setting so my keyboard doesn't learn the names of certain communities.

I know Sync did it for reddit when not signed into a profile, any way to have it configurable?

After updating, clicking the reply button on a post comment does nothing. I forced closed and cleared cached, but still the same error. I reinstalled and it was fixed.

Now I added my third account so ive registered 3 profiles with 3 different instances in the app. And after that. The same error occurs. The reply button on a post comment does nothing.

I'm posting this using another app.

If I'm already in a community, and press the "+" button to make a post, I would expect it to be IN that community.

With a long list of subscriptions, scrolling to find the community is laborious... It should at least default to the current community if I'm in one.

When looking at subscriptions, whether from the side nav or the 3 dots, the community only gives me the option to subscribe. Since I'm already subscribed, I'd like to unsubscribe 🤔

Edit: as a workaround the unsubscribe button exists on the community's "about" section

To compliment the gestures already included, would be neat to be able swipe away images on the built-in image view. Your thumb is already somewhere central from clicking on the image and so would be more fluid to be able to quickly dismiss the image with a brief drag up or down in the image.

That way these NSFW links won't end up in my normal browsing history 😏

Is Lemmy Connect the first and currently only way for individual users to block instances? I know you can block instances if you host an instance yourself, but not everyone wants to do so.

We should be promoting this feature if indeed we are the only one with it as it has been in popular demand, especially lately, with Threads now being a thing.

Hey. I've been using Connect for a couple of weeks now and I like it quite a lot. One thing I've been missing though is the ability to quickly subscribe to a community from an aggregated feed (like All); right now, to do so, I have to open the community and subscribe from there. Seeing that "Block Community" already exists in the context menu for a post, it's only logical to have "Subscribe" there as well. Maybe it's not needed that much in the long run, but it will definitely help me now as a Reddit refugee trying to rebuild my feed.
