Connect for Lemmy App

Most of the times when I enter a community list for an instance and wants to check dach community, I get this error. About 8 out of 10 cases, I don't see anything. Is it on lemmy's side or the app's? Can I do anything about it? It seems that using the direct link rarely works too.

The text when I try to type comments (but not the text in the search bar or, as I'm just now learning, here in the 'post body' text box) is white, and I can't find the setting to change it. Obviously I could change my background back to the default blue that it was, but that's the opposite of a solution.

Anybody know?

I woke up this morning and realized all my subscribed instances had disappeared from the sidebar. Anyone else come across this bug?

Signing out then signing back in fixed the issue.

Has anyone else had any issues with the connects battery usage? It seems like my phone is dying before it makes it to the charger each night. when I check the usage stats connect is right there at the top of the list. typically when I used sync for reddit I had between 30 and 50 percent left at the end of the day. I feel like I don't use connect that much either.

Maybe I just couldn't find the option.

While I love connect so far, it's really chugging at my data plan.

Liftoff doesn't seem to support this either as of now, so this would be somewhat of an USP ;)

I had a few replies to some posts, got the bell icon, read some of them, but then it brought me to a thread... Which took me away from my notifications. Now I can't get back to them, and can't figure out how to get back to them

It would be nice if there was an option for different settings per account. For example, hide NSFW on one account but show NSFW on another.

Then when I switch accounts, the settings switch also.

Is anyone else having issues with connect not loading all the comments? I went through the settings and change it to show all but it's still not loading all of them. If i compare the comments on the app compared to web, there are a lot more on the web. Any help would be appreciated.

So that we can click any Lemmy (instance) links on browser and it send us to Connect app

At first signing out and signing back in was working. Now it is not.

I do not want an /all. I do not want a /local. I want the instances I elected to follow.

This is far and away the most important feature of the app for me.

What is going on with this? How do I fix it? Is it a bug? Is it being addressed?

Since the days of alien blue on reddit, I've always had a way to hide posts I've already seen automatically. Must have feature imo. Love that this app already has it. I want to suggest a few improvements:

1. The option for posts on that list to be automatically removed. I.e. setting expiration to 2 days means that posts will only be hidden for a couple days and then come back and be visible again. Auto hiding posts is mostly good to not see the same things over and over again over a day or so, but after that, I'd like to be able to view the top posts of a community or look for a post I saw before without deleting my entire hidden post history
2. Posts marked to be hidden should go grey, exactly like they already do when you open the comments
3. Posts should only be marked for automatic hiding if they scroll off the top of the screen, not posts that I haven't scrolled past

Connect seems to be linking to the wrong thread in a crosspost like in the linked thread. It's pointing to "What Ever Happened To Victoria’s Secret Karen??" instead of the Watch party group.

they’re replacing “Lemmy.world/c/965504” with “Lemmy.ca/c/965504”, which is a totally different post, despite sharing the same number.

Each post is only valid within its own server.

Mostly as title says, I would love to have an option to change font families (specifically, I'm missing the Roboto font family from my old reddit client, Relay :P).

Happens on both my Nokia G50 and S23. Scrolling past a hundred plus post it becomes sluggish then crashes the app.

Perhaps something to do with memory management?

Or is it only the 3 that you can pick from where you can create an account in settings?

Still new so trying to work this out.

Is Connect for Lemmy only federated with a few instances?

For example I wanted to join lemdro.id As it's the replacement for /r/Android But when I search it's seemingly not there.

From what I can tell that is the Instance, and within it are communities. Are we able to add additional instances? Or even post across them? (I think I'm on lemmy.world?)

It would be great if you post the link to an article and then it auto-filled the title for you.

Ease of posting will only help grow the community!

Using Connect, when I go to a post, then view Community, it seems in already Subscribed?

The button says Unsubscribe.

But when going to my Front Page, only this community is showing (I'm not sure how but I was able to click Subscribe for this one the other day)

So I can't seem to add any more to appear on my front page.

For some reason my setting for opening links in external application does not save. I can change it, close settings, go back into settings, and it is off again. Ideas? 1.0.73. Edit: Dangit! There is a save button under settings! I never noticed\thought of it since Im not used to having to do that in an app. :\ Working now.

Please let us disable using back button to open the drawer and on next press, then a prompt to exit the app. I want Connect to behave like any other Android app does - exit the app immediately if there is no navigation stack left.

Hi, I'm working on the next release and there's a lot of changes so rather than just release it straight away I'd like your help! Hopefully this way those that don't want the newest features can enjoy a more stable experience and those that want to play with new features can do so as well.

In Relay for Reddit (which is similar to "list view" in Connect, it would show the base address for posts that are links, which helps you to quickly ignore (or just go to comment TLDR) for posts that are links to dubious websites or news websites with a lot of crap like auto-play videos, popups, sticky banners etc.

It would be nice to not have to "roll the dice" on every link based post, i.e. to get the base url as a part of the post view in list view mode.

Bonus feature request: change gestures so that short tap collapses a comment chain, instead of having to hold it for one second each. The current behavior makes navigating comment levels slow.

Has it been considered to have an option to use volume buttons to navigate top level comments in a thread and for posts on the frontpage? It's a feature I always used in the 3rd party Reddit apps that had that option.

Rather than search, is there a way that I can just scroll through all the communities available?

I've got local and all feeds, but no way to just see a feed of the communities I've subscribed to. I swear this was an option before, but I cannot find it. Am I just unable to see it?
