There is a setting in the look and feel section that is called "Mark posts as read in Image Mode". What is image mode and how can I use it?

Not sure if this is possible but it would be nice to have a "Favorites" category to go along with All, Subs, Local.

I've bounced between Lemmy apps and have found Connect to be the best so far. I particularly like the swipe actions as they free up screen space for content.

However I cannot find a way to downvote via swiping. Is the feature not available at present or is it hidden away somewhere in the settings?

Just the title

"Backs out", as in, it's like the back button is randomly pressed while viewing an image zoomed and panning around it.

I thought this was just a gesture getting triggered by mistake, but I do not see the gesture arrow on the screen when this happens.

Edit: I just tried an update and reboot to no avail. Also, I just discovered that I don't need to be zoomed in to the image for this to happen. When I open an image and drag it up and let go, the pic with snap to center again and then back out of the image by itself.

(Example above). If you set the test to larger (yes I'm old!), and try to write a reply to a post, sometimes all the icons are truncated at the bottom of the 'post window'. No amount of scrolling or pinching would make the icons at the bottom appear. Tia

Remove Save Settings button; just save them when user presses the back button. Easier. User doesn't have to remember to press Save Settings. Do it automatically. You can even add a cancel button if user doesn't want to save changes.

Is it possible to view the domain name for link posts? I'd like to be able to see what site I'm clicking through to

Is there a way to block them on my feeds etc but not their comments in other threads?

When I go to my inbox and filter by 'all' I'm only able to see my most recent 10 messages. I should be able to see all of them. Anybody else having this problem?

When I'm scrolling through the main pages I want to hide read posts so after I refresh they go away. The problem is, doing this basically deletes that post from you forever.

What I would love is to have the post only hidden from the main screen, not from within the community itself. For instance, if I'm browsing from Local and I see a post from c/memes, I don't want to see it again when I'm browsing Local, but I do want to see it if I go to c/memes.

Is it worth hiding the downvote button, or disabling and greying it out, when downvoting is disabled by the instance a user is logged in with?

So I noticed after opening up Connect that the number of comments on the post cards has disappeared, anyone notice the same?

I've found a problem in Connect, where I can use pinch-to-zoom when viewing an image, but when I try to pan/scroll the image, Connect returns me to the previous screen instead.

To replicate:

1. Find a post with an attached image.
2. Tap the thumbnail to view the image.
3. Use the pinch gesture to zoom in.
4. Try to pan by pressing on the screen and moving your finger.
5. Connect exits the image viewer and returns to the previous view (post or list).

Hi, happy Thursday everyone. Just a small release which brings an option for per-account settings, settings now auto-save (no more 'save' button), and an option for turning off volume button comment navigation. and a minor bug fix. Going to be testing it a bit and then hopefully it will be live later today.

Just as the title says, I have two accounts on connect

On for sh.itjust.works, and one of lemmy.world

When I'm logged into the lemmy.world the sidebar opening especially lags way more than with the sh.itjust.works account

Edit: it appears to possibly be related to the number of subscriptions rendered in the list.

Before they load things seem to run more smoothly

Toolbar does not appear at the bottom of a comment when it is only composed of an image. Clicking the comment make the image opens.

The behaviour is not the same when a comment contains text: clicking the comment text make toolbar appears under the comment and i can upvote or downvote or make use of other usefull features.

So the problem is that when swipe gesture is not enable, there is no way for me to upvote or downvote an image comment.

Some links don't seem to open within the internal WebView, and only work when opened with the external browser. This seems to happen to all hacker news links.

It would be great to have the option for the image viewer and web links open differently. Like the image links open with the in-app browser (as it currently does if you have the option toggled off) but also have a toggle to open web links directly in an external browser.

This app gets better and better. Great work to all involved!

Basically anything I copy won't paste into the app. The exception is when I copy a link from an app like YouTube and paste it directly into Connect. But if I paste the same link into a notes app and copy the url from there, nothing happens when I try to paste in Connect.

I'm on a Galaxy S9, Android version 10.

Would it be possible to make some settings (for example, show nsfw....) specific to the account you are on? You know, cause reasons....

So I found this one up by accident while watching a video. The volume control was inoperative. I exited the video and found that volume up and down now controlled page up and down. Exiting the application. The volume control returns.

Maybe this is a feature??
