Some feedback/requests:

  • Creating new content is confusing. I read the small FAQ, which explains things a little but doesn't make things less confusing. Why can't the "new" options be Thread, Microblog Post, and Magazine?
  • I'd like to be able to collapse comment trees
  • I'd like to be able to search the comments for a single thread or microblog
  • A preview option for new content (to check formatting) would be nice

Has anyone else had this issue? I'm in my chrome mobile browser on android and trying to post a photo to a mag . I am able to select the desired pic from my files but when I tap 'upload' nothing happens. Thoughts?

So, how do Reputation Points work? Because I'm a little confused how I'm at -5. Is that system still under construction?

Is it just me, or does clicking on new video post nothing ?

I think that the posting feature should also appear in the sidebar of a community below the subscribe/block buttons (or maybe below the community description), and the mods could choose which posting options are listed in the sidebar

And "Article" should maybe be renamed to Text Post

Something like /r/redditrequest, but for kbin?

If you click on the "more" button under a comment or link there will be an activity tab. In this tab you can see everyone who has boosted, favourited or reduced the post. I'm not sure if this a
Is a good feature but it's interesting to see when someone decides to reduce all of your content for no reason.

Kbin (and Lemmy) needs something to combine several magazines into one. Currently, there are many magazines spread over several instances. There's no way to just view or subscribe to them at once. You need to check them separately. If there were multi-magazines, new user could just search for someone's multi- and don't get confused by the ten other communities that often are empty.

Is there a chance that it will be ever implemented? It's one of kbin biggest blocks from getting popular.

I know this is a silly question, especially as I'm currently focused on local-only feeds, but there's just one part of the Fediverse I wish would get more love: PeerTube. While there aren't a lot of people actively looking for alternative video hosts outside the big guys (Twitch, YouTube, Dailymotion, etc.), it would be nice to see wider adoption of PeerTube. I think better integration with other softwares would be helpful in that regard, if for no other reason than just that it brings attention to the services available.

some random posts of mine and others as i have seen get randomly downvoted near instantly by blank accounts. are these bots?

How does following people on kbin work? Do I get shown their activity somewhere? Only boosts or other stuff too? And where?

Does following mastodon or lemmy users work from kbin?

Just in time for what is likely another wave of the Reddit migration, I made a userscript to hide posts with Reddit-related keywords and posts from magazines with Reddit in the name from your feed.

Trying both Lemmy and Kbin at the same time and have set up test groups on both.

So, in general, I think I like the Kbin interface a slight bit more, but both, especially Kbin, could use better access to your subscribe magazines, I miss Reddit's drop down list, but at the very least, Kbin needs to make subscriptions easier to access rather than hiding it in a menu.

Now, to the testing. So far we've only done images, and Kbin is a lot better than Lemmy. I haven't been able to get Lemmy to do inline images, but here? Hardest thing was figuring out what code it parses as IMGBB offers BBCode and HTML. Not only does the HTML work perfectly, thumbnails work, clicking takes you to the full sized image. Doesn't open in a new tab, but that's minor.

Why is this a big deal? I'm thinking of replacing my Mastodon instance with Kbin or Lemmy, and maybe even replacing my Friendica, and inline images are important for that. Give me a feed reader, an Android app and an easy sharing option, and Kbin will be perfect, though it is decent already.

Oh, and speaking of the test magazine, if'n y'all want to try any posting options, feel free to use it.

Can someone please remind me how to open a Lemmy community in kbin? Maybe this is a bigger issue on mobile.

If I open a federated community I see this in kbin : https://imgur.com/a/oFQnMqj

And if I click the link to ‘Browse more on the original instance’ I’m brought to this screen : https://imgur.com/a/uNCvirP

And there is no option to subscribe without creating an account on that instance.

I think I might have read you need to search with a specific phrase but I can’t find where I saw that.

When first logged into kbin, I noticed a lot of important communities were missing so I created a few in hopes of putting them in the right hands when things took off. I'm at about that point where I'm ready to give some because there's no way I can manage 5+ at the same time.

I have promoted some users to moderator, but how do I give them completely?

691

So when I get "The profile from the federated server may be incomplete. Browse more on the original instance." is that just a temporary syncing issue that resolves itself after some time?

I see that message on the newly linked https://kbin.social/m/datenvisualisierung@feddit.de for example or on comments and posts on my other profile on lemmy.world.

Apologies if this has been addressed and I know it's low priority.

Is there a system or plans for a system to pass magazine ownership from inactive owners or remove potential squatters?

I have the Hide Adult Content checkbox selected in my profile settings, but I am still seeing stuff like this in the sidebar as links to Random Magazines / Posts / Threads.

I'm not sure if it technically is a moderation issue where the Magazine, Post, or Thread needs to be marked as NSFW in case the OP didn't do so or something more. It seems like it happens too often to just be where it is simply posts that slip past the mods so that makes me wonder if the NSFW checkbox is broken or just doesn't do anything.

The germans are so active on the #threadiverse that people start complaining.

Is there some easy way to check to see if defederation is the culprit or some other communication issue between instances?

Is there any way to hide posts in other languages? My homepage is filled with German posts, which would be great if I spoke German...

Really enjoying kbin, but the lack of options for NSFW content is frustrating - specifically, I want to be able to see NSFW content (and choose to display it) but I don't want unblurred and unwanted porn showing up in the seemingly unremovable "random" feeds.

Am I missing something? Is there a way to remove the random feeds?

So I'm curious about trying kbin. On Lemmy instances, each instance has its rules listed on the sidebar, below the community rules. I couldn't find anything like that on kbin.social!

To me it's pretty important that the instance I join isn't hostile to NSFW content, soo... yeah. It might also just generally be good if people can find out about the rules easily, right?

Either I am too dumb or I would like this feature to be added. It would be cool if there would be a button where I can directly jump to the source link if I want to read the article first, after diving in the discussion or if I don't want to open the thread altogether.
