I've a few questions:

  • If I'm a mod, how do I pin threads?
  • Can I create threads automatically? Like an automatic daily or weekly threads?
  • Can I automatically delete old posts?

Someone from sopuli.xyz brought to my attention that my photo didn't show up in my comment when viewed from their instance. But when they navigate to Kbin.social, they can see it.

I added the photo using the button below the comment box next to the language selection and "Add New Link" button. Did I do it wrong? Is there a different or better way to embed a photo? Is it some weirdness about that other instance?

I was just made a moderator of m/politics. However, when I view the magazine's info, the 'Magazine Panel' button which provides access to the admin tools is not present.

I also own m/horrorliterature. On this magazine, I see the button and I'm able to moderate as expected.

I wasn't able to find any known issues related to this on codeberg, but it would appear to be a delegation problem. Has anyone else experienced this or does anyone know how it might be resolved?

I found the neat visual customization options (color, rounded corners, etc) but the changes don’t seem to stick! Is this a me thing or kbin thing?

I haven't been on here in a while since I've been busy. I'm glad to see they finally fixed reputation, if they just did away with that number altogether I probably wouldn't care either way, but having plenty of upvoted posts and still having only "-1" because of a mass downvoter was more of a bummer and a deterrent to posting than I expected

Is there a way to configure kbin to ignore custom css on magazines?

If the mod team I'm on wants to eventually build out, how do we add another moderator? I can easily see the delete button next to other mods on the [https://kbin.social/m/(magazine](https://kbin.social/m/(magazine) name)/moderators page, but I can't see anywhere to add new users.

Thanks for your help!

ETA - I found how to do it. For anyone else with this question, here's the solution:

  1. Click on "Magazine Panel" button on right-hand nav bar from within the magazine you moderate.
  2. Click "moderators" on top menu bar of the new page.
  3. Enter in username of moderator and click "Add Moderator" button

It is the most unsatisfying feature on kbin.

We need something like this:

Does lemmy content automatically show here, or do I have to do something. It seem to me that it doesn't

Is there an easier way to visit a specific subbed magazine, than clicking Profile and scrolling the tiny spot after my username to reveal the subs button?

Hello, I want to use microblog to follow dice.cloud, because I really like ttrpg. How do I do that? I know how to follow magazines in other instances of fedi, ie kbin.social/m/rpg@lemmy.ml for example.

How do I get to dice.cloud and subscribe?

I signed in with my Google account. I was looking at the cookies kbin sets and the user token REMEMNERME is only set to last for one week.

Does this mean I have to religion after a week?

If not, how does kbin know to keep me logged in after the REMEMBERME cookie expires?

just wanted to ask this bc lemmy supposedly has public upvotes/downvotes and I don't know if kbin has it too

Is there a way to undo a boost? It seems like clicking on boost again just boosts it again rather than undoing it.

I found a community on lemmy.world I'd like to join, but I can't figure out how to open it in my kbin instance so that I can subscribe to it. I tried to paste the link into the search bar, but it came up with "empty." I also tried to modify a link to a different community on lemmy.world that I had accessed via kbin, but just came up with a 404 error. Am I missing something?

(Sorry if this isn't the right place for this, I'm still getting the feel of things here.)

Just like on Mastodon, that all my subscriptions and all can be migrated? It's not a priority right now probably, but I was just thinking as more instances pop up in the future that migrating would be a nice option to have. Like I said probably not a important right now, but I was just curious

Just saw a few new lemmy.ml posts on my front page from lemmy.ml users.

despite specifying 127.0.0.1 in the .env, i am still getting an error attempting a (i think) default path of @redis.

where else would this be defined/configured besides the local .env?

I’m on kbin.cafe. Let’s use the top post of kbinMeta as an example.

https://kbin.social/m/kbinMeta/t/86614

When I access this same post from kbin.cafe, the link is instead

https://www.kbin.cafe/m/kbinMeta@kbin.social/t/2219/PSA-Upvote-is-not-an-upvote-like-you-are-used

So I can’t just change the kbin.social link to kbin.cafe and append an @kbin.social to the magazine name. I have to search for the post on kbin.cafe, which often won’t succeed if the magazine the post is on didn’t start federating over until after the post was made. I care about this because I would like to be able to interact with posts with my current account.

I can always just have a sock puppet account on kbin.social that I follow with my kbin.cafe account, and use the sock puppet to boost the post so I can access it on kbin.cafe. For me this is actually realistic option given that I made a kbin.social before I found out about kbin.cafe. But it feels dirty, and I would like to not have to constantly switch accounts to access one post or interact with it.

This Android app is a webview shell for the kbin.social site.

Is a dedicated browser for the kbin.social site: once you open the app you will see the kbin.social site as you would see it in any browser. But, if you want, you can inject JS and CSS code to change the appearance and functionality of the site.

I created this application to be able to use the kbin.social site in a browser other than the default browser; I share it in case it might be useful to others.

You can get the code and apk from github: https://github.com/anemomylos/shell4kbin

According to FediDB almost all Kbin users are counted as active users (62,396 total users, 61,811 monthly active users). Lemmy’s radio is completely different, 347,379 total and 70,438 active. Apparently Lemmy only counts accounts as active if they post or comment. Does Kbin use a different method or is there some other explanation to the discrepancy?
