Hey r/homeassistant!

https://my.home-assistant.io/redirect/blueprint_import/?blueprint_url=https%3A%2F%2Fgithub.com%2Fmsinhore%2Fadaptive-climate-blueprint%2Fblob%2Fmain%2Fblueprints%2Fashrae55_adaptive_comfort_v2.yaml

Just finished my first blueprint and wanted to share it with the community.

What it is: Adaptive climate control that implements scientific comfort standards (ASHRAE 55) while optimizing for energy savings.

Key features:

✅ Dynamic comfort zones based on outdoor temp

✅ 15-30% energy savings in testing

✅ SmartIR integration (works with existing setups)

✅ Natural ventilation detection

✅ Occupancy-based setbacks

Perfect if you:

  • Use SmartIR for AC/heating control

  • Want data-driven climate automation

  • Care about energy efficiency

  • Like scientifically-backed home automation

This is my first contribution to the HA community, so feedback is super welcome! Has anyone else tried implementing adaptive comfort models?

The blueprint calculates optimal temperatures based on outdoor conditions rather than fixed setpoints - pretty cool to see it automatically adjust throughout the seasons.

Looking for testers with different climate setups if anyone's interested! 🌡️

Thinking about stuff like: break-ins, fire/CO alerts, major leaks, etc.

I'm interested in the logic (e.g., "if alarm armed and door opens > flash all lights red") not any sensitive security details. What have you built?

Hi everyone. This is T800model101's wife. He left his browser open. Could you please please please stop giving him ideas about Homeassistant. He keeps talking about docker pants and having ESP and something about making the toaster react to his presence. I just need my husband back. Thank you!

We have several new positions open at the Open Home Foundation! 👏🏻

If you're located in Europe and any of these jobs sound like a good fit for you, we'd love to hear from you!

🔹 Node.js Engineer

🔹 Cloud Infrastructure Engineer

🔹 E-Commerce Operations Manager

🔹 Digital Marketing Manager

🔹 Market Researcher

Even though these roles are remote, we're only considering applicants eligible to work in Europe at this time. I'll work to keep this post updated when the positions are filled - and will post up a new thread if anything new comes along. 😌

I'm looking for something relatively simple and robust. Just need things like rain detection/amount, wind speed, temperature, humidity.

I saw this post https://www.reddit.com/r/PleX/comments/1ix75iv/any_home_assistant_users_here_i_found_some_cool/ and just wanted to chime in. I’ve got a mini PC at home too, an Acemagic with the AMD Ryzen 9 6900HX. Got it for $599 mainly because I wanted something with a bit more future-proofing so I could experiment with other stuff later. Right now I’m messing around with AI-based control, but sometimes it gets totally confused about what device it’s supposed to operate like if my kid says one thing and I say another, the poor AI looks like it’s about to blow a fuse, lol. Honestly, sometimes it’s just easier to grab the remote and do things manually. I’m sure there are ways to tweak it and get better results, but I still don’t think it’s 100% there yet.

I am wondering which zigbee smoke detectors work best with homeassistant. I read about many devices but all I foind have issues with battery life time. With which ones have you good experiences with?

For me, Alexa notifications in a few rooms of the house when the printer runs out of paper or is jammed.

Just printing a batch of stuff I need to take with me this evening and then going about getting ready when Alexa announces we're out of paper, so was able to fix.

This was exactly the same problem last time only I returned to half complete print job and not enough time to finish.

Thanks homeassistant!

Hi, I was wondering if any of you have a function/Automation/ Step by step Instruction for your Wife or Husband in case you die.

For me, I have our Vehicle Charge System and Internet Add Blocker running on a Raspberry with Home Assistant but my wife has no clue about it. She has no interest.

If I would die today, I guess the system would run for 1 or 2 Month without any problem but after an Update on any part would set the system on error.

The Internet would not work and she could not charge the car.

Do you have a backup plan?
