I've been playing more Elden Ring, trying to level up a new character for a 2nd DLC playthrough. I've crossed off Radahn and now am just leveling myself up for an early Mohg.

Whenever I interrogate him about my suspicions he's sweating bullets (it's noticeably different from sauna sweat, saunaheads will understand) and also I'll ask about the progress they're making in Elden Ring and he says "the game is so easy, we're not even using spirit ashes" which I know is a lie. He has a 12-life handicap in Kirby's Dream Course; he sucks at games. And I'd try watching them play again but I got rhetorically ganged up upon and ejected 2 months ago from the gamer sauna for laughing at his build that has 3 shields for some reason.

What do I do?

I should have known better, as the whole cowboy genre is terrible as fuck. Westerns (as boomer Americans call the genre) have the slowest dialogue, the corniest patriarchal story-line, and are obviously filled with a heap ton of other problematic bits. Of course, I had to try as the game got great reviews. I thought I'd try it with the Steam summer sale.

Fuckkkkkkkk the long boring ass cut scenes. OMG pls talk faster and have dialogue that's interesting. The beginning of the game is just 30 minutes of video and riding your horse so slowly through the snow. I thought that my TikTok brain couldn't stand some old slow game from a bygone era, but I'm checking this shit and it was released in 2018!

If I was some prat who loved the mythology of the "settling of the west", a game with a white dude on a horse on a mountain would get me hard. Why can't more games be like Atomic Heart? I wanna defend the land of Stalin and have cut scenes with ~~good dialogue~~ a talking glove that debates theory and a sexy refrigerator that probably wants to murder me.

I've been generally hearing that it's good and been thinking about playing it. I'm not sure if it's my type of game or not. Was looking to hear about people's experiences and if you had any fun stories to share?

I also have some questions:

• I'm not comfortable with nudity or sex. Apparently this can be turned off in game. If you used this option, how effective is it?

• How integral to the game is combat and looting?

• I'm Autistic. If you're Autistic, do you feel that the game can accommodate Autistic players? (For example, I'd feel uncomfortable if the game forced me to take part in pointless social interactions like attending/talking to people at a party. I wouldn't know what to do in that situation and I would feel very stressed, and probably not do what I was "supposed to" in the game's rules.)

• Have you played with any mods? Good mods? Bad mods?

• Did you have a good time?
