Is there a way to expand imgur images within Fedia? So you don't have to click and go to imgur to view the image. Something inline for the post?

In other news, Reddit CEO confirms status as clueless ass-clown.

“We absolutely must ship what we said we would.”

He forgot to add 'Otherwise I'll miss my big IPO payday and that can't happen'

Is there any way to see what instances we on fedia.io are federated with, and what instances we've blocked?

I've been trying to subscribe to magazines/communities from lemmy.ca.

I recall seeing on kbin.social that people were having trouble seeing communities from lemmy.ca as well, but it was attributed to the DDoS protections that were enabled. From what I can tell, fedia.io does not seem to have the same protections enabled, but I still cannot see communities from lemmy.ca (e.g. I was able to find hockey@lemmy.world, but not hockey@lemmy.ca).

On lemmy.ca, it seems like fedia.io should be federated with them.

Does anyone have any guidance on how to track down the issue? Thanks in advance!

EDIT: After a few days of trying, I was finally able to discover hockey@lemmy.ca, vancouver@lemmy.ca, and toronto@lemmy.ca. (But canada@lemmy.ca still doesn't work... Hopefully soon)

The page at https://fedia.io/sub is called the "subscribed" page, and shows threads from various different "magazines".

Fair enough, but isn't it supposed to only show ones from groups I've subscribed to? Does my subscriptions have any effect on that page at all? Is it just subscribed instances maybe?

Is it supposed to be like that? If the latter, is there in fact a page which shows only threads/blogs etc. from just groups I have subscribed to?

Hi I'm new in fedia. Is there a phone app I can use? I also don't want to see the content I read repeatedly, how can I adjust it

My interests are:

  • tech
  • gaming (i mostly play Factorio, Dyson sphere program, Universe sandbox, minetest, and modded minecraft (particularly gregtech-based))
  • a good dose of shitposting

How many of those can be fulfilled by the threadiverse right now?

Threadiverse is growing and the porn instances are showing up. I blocked some magazines to prevent them from appearing, but some porn are also on random@fedia.io without marked as nsfw for some reason. Is there a way to block this?

Kbin has algorithms! Interesting...

Seen a few people asking if there's a document comparing lemmy to kbin and explaining what they are and why they exist and why they are hot and how to do them.

So I wrote one in my blog

Here you go.

@jerry hi, i noticed that i cannot "add" new magazines from kbin.social

specifically, when i try to add @RedditMigration, it does nothing, despite it existing at https://kbin.social/m/RedditMigration.
i checked a second one, using @BuyItForLife, also nothing

i checked this wasn't an issue with all instances by adding @science, which worked first try.
i wanted to ask if you reckon this is an issue with kbin.social, or with fedia.io? thanks :)

Crosspost: Just trying to help spread information with this little FAQ I put together specific for kbin. If the Magazine mods don't want this here, please let me know and I'll remove from this magazine. That link should point to the local-to-fedia.io thread, but if not, you can also view it at the below link to the original instance.

The original link is here: https://kilioa.org/m/kbinMeta@kbin.social/t/266

When I'm using kbin.social there's thumbnails for each post that I can see before a media preview. In fedia this is not the case. Does anyone know why?

Ok - here's the deal....

  1. Logins with google and github are broken for now
  2. profile picture uploads aren't working
  3. No, you can't log in with your infosec.exchange ID and password, but you can follow back and forth
  4. No, there is no 2FA yet
  5. I have maybe 2 hours more experience with kbin than you do - I am still figuring it out. Leave responses with any other issues you encounter.
  6. kbin, as the developer pointed out to me today, is in early development, even though it works incredibly well. That means it'll be a bit tough to tell which things don't work because I hosed something up vs. not working because there is a bug or a feature is just not fully implemente.
