I am looking for an app that can emulate another android device.

A few years ago I used vmos but:

  • it looks really sketchy
  • it requires an account
  • quick online search tells me some features are locked behind a paywall

I looked for alternatives but they all seem pretty sketchy and I will propably login with a Google account so idk.

My requirements are:

  • At least Android Nougat (7.0+)
  • GMS
  • pass the Google security checks (I think it was called safetynet at some point
  • not to slow as I want to play a game

The reason I need this is that I want to use a modified version of a game next to the original version.

I hope someone has a suggestion for me, Thanks in advance.

I haven't touched my Sinden lightguns in a while and was wondering if anybody has any game recs to use it on

I've been using MAME for years, but I only tried using it for software list titles today. It isn't working and I'm beyond frustrated right now. This is what I've done, does anyone see what I've done wrong?

  1. Software list roms are in their own directory which is correctly added to rompath in mame.ini. The structure is /home/xkoe/Remote/Mame/sl//.zip.
  2. I have the software list datfiles in /home/xkoe/Games/Mame/.mame/hash/.xml.
  3. I tried auditing everything via the mame ui.

I guess that's it. My roms (main and software list) are fully up-to-date, as is MAME itself as well as the datfiles. The datfiles are for the correct set (merged). If I attempt to open a rom (mame - ) MAME closes with a segmentation fault. If I remove the path to the hash directory in mame.ini it doesn't find the rom. If I give the complete filepath instead of just the romfile it opens and runs perfectly.

I'm prepared to have this be something stupid like a typo somewhere in my ini file, but so far I haven't found anything. If anyone has any thoughts please let me know!

Hey there, I've been using Bluestacks as my main android emulator for a while, but I disliked how bloated it is, especially that their cloud service app comes preinstalled.

Im wondering if there are other android emulators that are good to use. I've already heard about emulators such as:

I haven't actually tried most of these myself yet since I don't quite trust them. They are quite sketchy and heavily advertised

Interesting video from a lawyer, explaining the whole drama between Nintendo, Dolphin and Valve. It explains a lot of the current legal precedent really well, as well as how Nintendo and their lawyers crafted the cease and desist letter to Valve.

What are your thoughts on the current emulation scene on iOS? Since Apple does not allow emus to be published on the app store, you will have to go through the tough process of either jailbreaking or sideloading with tools such as AltStore.

At the moment I know that Provenance is a frontend for multiple emulators similar to Retroarch, which is really useful considering with a normal apple account you can only side load 3 apps, including AltStore itself. Though I would still love to know other emus available for iOS

Panda3DS is still in the early stages of development. Many games boot, many don't. Most games have at least some hilariously broken graphics, audio is not supported, performance leaves a bit to be desired mainly thanks to lack of shader acceleration, and most QoL features (including a GUI) are missing.

Just saw that Gary is back home and thought some people might support him after the work he's done for the Switch scene.

Looking for opinions on what the best best front-end is for emulating. Preferably something that can be easily used with a controller.

Recently installed launch box on Windows and it’s alright but not sure if I want to pay for big box.

Excuse the bad quality, trying to snap a photo of a crt is a Royal PITA.

Mednafen set for full accuracy with no scaling or anything to the crt. Next steps either a better crt, mister fpga or a modded ps1. Will take a while.

This is pretty big for people with Mali phones. Switch emulation on Android is looking more and more viable!
