Debian operating system

First of all, thank you @Thief@Thief@lemmy.one for offering to help. You inspired me to go ahead and post an issue that's been bothering me.

I posted about it on Reddit a while back and didn't receive much in the way of assistance. I'm using an Inspiron 14 5410 and dualbooting Debian Bullseye and Windows 11. I recently started experiencing (again) touchpad issues. Initially it happened just after a Windows/BIOS update, then vanished after another one. Now after my most recent Windows update it's returned. On boot my touchpad works fine, but periodically it will stop functioning. I am still fully able to click with my mouse buttons, but unable to move my cursor.
'''xinput test 11''' produces nothing unless I click a mouse button while the touchapd isn't working. I'm not accidentally disabling it with a key either, I've checked for that. I'm running nonfree drivers/firmware. I can share output of xinput list and any other logs (with some advice on how to pull them) if necessary.

Closing and reopening my laptop (signing back in) corrects the issue. I'm not sure if Xserver restarts on a suspend/login?

Any nudge in the right direction would be greatly appreciated. Thank you to any and all who can offer advice.

During holiday season we present to you our new release siduction 2022.1. This edition for obvious reasons has been given the code name »Masters of War«. This goes back to a Bob Dylan song of the same name from 1962. Users that have been with us for a while will remember that we used to use rock songs as code names for our releases. Well, today we are returning to that tradition. The wallpaper of this release combines the artwork for Debian GNU/Linux 12 »Bookworm« with this Bob Dylan song, that is as fresh today as it was in 1962.

Did anyone else's GRUB got fucked after yesterdays update too? My GRUB installation is not working.

Do i simply install on top of a Debian server OS? Which .iso do I download/install?

I think even XFCE is rather bloated and have Debian XFCE on 2 other drives already, so will test out Debian stable nonfree with xfwm standalone. I have the names of the top 5 packages to add and will worry about the rest later. I am in no hurry to get this perfect yet. But, I would like to install the fundamentals tomorrow.

Hey, I use Discord to chat with friends. Recently there had been an update to Discord, and I can no longer delete it from the Activities screen in GNOME. I've tried rebooting my computer, right clicking to view it in Software (it says it can't find it), and it does not show up in the dpkg list.

Do you all have any ideas?

I'm on Debian Testing and receive this strange message when open Dolphin today, if I not forget when I upgraded some kde packages were upgrade. Unable to create io-slave. klauncher said: Error loading '/usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/qt5/plugins/kf5/kio/file.so'. Please tell me how can I solve this issue.
