Seen a lot of rightists with cringe lists, so I was curious to see what comrades identify with.

Mine are: Duncan Idaho, Nagito Komaeda, Moneo Atreides, Miles Teg, Kokichi Oma, Anakin Skywalker(not Darth Vader), Pavel Korchagin, and that one guy from Changjin Hu whose name I forgot who blew up the tank with the explosives pack thingy (I watched it a long time ago, OK?)

What are yours?

In 2003, Perelman, a Saint Petersburg native, became known for solving the Poincaré conjecture, the solution that had eluded mathematicians for almost a century.

In 2006, Perelman was awarded a Fields Medal for this work, but declined to accept it. Sir John Ball, president of the International Mathematical Union, spent a chilly day in Saint Petersburg trying to convince Perelman to accept it, but failed miserably.

In 2010, Perelman was awarded a $1 million Millennium Prize, but once again Perelman declined it.

“I'm not interested in money or fame.” he was quoted as saying when declining the award.

Perelman lives with his mother in a spartan apartment in a St. Petersburg suburb. He plays a violin.

Overall, he is a sample of the true Soviet person. He was raised in the USSR. He is aimed at creation and achievements, not money. A really rare species nowadays.

Is there any hope for a revolution? The country isn't as wealthy as other imperial core countries, but it seems to me that even if the KKE managed to garner enough support and revolted, we would probably get invaded by Turkey, and I imagine the inverse is also true. Is the only way out of this a concurrent revolution in both countries?

What albums do yall listen to from beginning to end? There are plenty of artists and bands that I like with great songs but sometimes the album has filler in between the main tracks. Which albums do you feel like have little to no filler? I’d put up Chief Keef’s Finally Rich (debut album) Licensed To Ill by the Beastie Boys, maybe Sgt Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band by Beatles, Curtis (1970) by Curtis Mayfield and Cuba Libre by Carlos Puebla. What are your favorites?

Thats it basically im just really really ashamed of my parents being landlords, they both work jobs but simultaneously rent this apartement to a family and its not even that we need the extra money we exctract from this families income, they are paid well but noo they need more and more money and seek out these stupid parasitic neo-feudal sources for absolutely no reason other than to generate more money at the expanse of others. It grinds my brain to know i indirectly profit of it and im just in shame for my parents and they wont understand, they are as liberal and capitalist indoctrinated as can be so its useless to try to refute them especially when they pull the "hooman naturr" card out of their ass' when trying to converse with them about capitalism.

but im thankful this place exists where i can let these concerns out i dont have any people i can talk to about such things in real life. (alienation especially concerning socialists of any kind does indeed wonders to repress the organization of the masses)

We all know that the west uses two different words for the same thing depending on where it is happening.

e.g. Secret Police vs Plainclothes Officer
Regime vs Government

Can we have a compilation thread of these words? I am probably using many of them unconsciously without critical examination.

From googling I see some volunteer "adventures" but I'm not really getting a good vibe from these. Are there volunteer orgs out there that are worth looking into? Primarily cuban?

Let's say that the global coffee industry generates $460 billion in revenue in a year.

  1. How much of it goes to Africa (the whole continent)?
  2. How much of it goes to Starbucks?

answerI found this transcription of a talk between Russian and Ugandan delegations. The Ugandan president, Yoweri Kaguta Museveni, says that:

the global business for coffee is worth $460 billion. [...] But of those $460 billion the coffee producing countries of the whole world share only $25 billion and Africa shares only $2.4 billion out of $460 billion. [...] Germany earns more from coffee than the whole of Africa. Germany earns $6.85 billion from coffee [...]

I am not sure how I can verify these claims. I found the coffee industry stats on Statista but their graphs vs. the text summaries show different numbers:

Whichever numbers are correct the bigger picture remains the same.

Starbucks revenue for the twelve months ending June 30, 2023 was $35.016B, a 9.48% increase year-over-year.

I've been wondering for quite a while if I have autism or not as I seem to hit a lot of the commonly reported symptoms and experiences. I recently tried some of the self-tests out there, including the ones on Embrace Autism, and yeah, I hit every single one I tried for mild to even moderate autism. Scored 49 on the rbq-2a for example.

Now, I know that none of those tests are conclusive and I could easily be a false positive, so I'm not directly claiming I have autism. But I'm thinking the next step is probably to talk to my primary care doctor, but to be honest I'm really hesitant to/don't completely trust the mental health system in Canada. Genuinely asking because I don't really have anyone in my personal life who has similar experiences or I think would understand: what do people here think about getting a formal diagnosis? Is it always something one should pursue if they suspect they're on the spectrum? Are there any major drawbacks? I'm especially concerned about it affecting my career prospects (which already aren't great tbh, my fault for getting a science degree in an already niche field which I deeply regret but that's a different story) or my ability to take out loans or rent an apartment by myself. I don't personally see my autism (if I have it) as a disability, but unfortunately in Canada it is still very much seen as such. Who am I required to disclose an autism diagnosis if I am diagnosed?

I'm really sorry if any of this comes off as insensitive. I have never really participated in the autism online community and I am in no way trying to put down people with autism, I'm honestly just kind of scared about what this means for me. Anyone else in a similar situation, or were in a similar situation? Care to share your experiences or have any advice?

There's a lot of unjust persecutions around the world, yet i could also talk about the land of the free, who persecute not one, but two candidates, Donald Trump and Robert F. Kennedy Jr., for having a different opinion of the world, and quite possibly a third if they rigged the primaries against Bernie Sanders, and also more generally having only two political parties who can be helped by the wealthy, and even voting machines.
I'm from France and it's worse, the u.s. may only have two political parties, but here we need to get votes from mayors to be able to present ourselves, of course this number has gone up and is now public. It's another way to prevent changes.

Even if they had the authorization they would still not be known by depoliticized citizens.
I'm harsh but we're indeed no stranger to authoritarian measures such as dissolving pacific organizations for their point of view(, only one example), or demonizing popular speakers such as Étienne Chouard(, pro-democracy activist), and many many more, whose opinions can only be heard thanks to the relatively recent Internet, but they're making laws to protect "us"(themselves) from what they call disinformation, hate speech, or genocide denial(, how easy it would be to censor any debunking of their recent uyghur lies under the guise of genocide denial, it was the same argument for Yugoslavia, the Darfur, and certainly more). We're just living in a bubble, with our own personal lives, yet voting.
In both countries, we're not aware of what, e.g., a communist news program could look like, we deem the only kind of information we know as objective, and even diverse because there's a center-left and a center-right(, revolutions are extreme hence the status quo is conserved). Multisubjectivity is closer to the true objectivity.
The few of us who read foreign medias would mean german ones, or eventually italian or swedish, sometimes outside the west as long as it's aligned with "the"(our) "universal" truth.
When a different view of the world from outside irrupts in our bubble, they're simply wrong, as a proof, everybody we know disagree with them, but since we don't read their medias, we're unable to ever explain why this other side could think that they are the good guys(, we'll only say that they're propagandised, which isn't the same as being able to give any details about the content of this propaganda ; yet i'm not sure that their(, russians, chinese, cubans, venezuelans, iranians, ...,) citizens would be unable to briefly describe our propaganda, i.d.k.)

Of course, nothing is perfect, including bourgeois republics(, in democracies the power belong to the cratos, not to representatives who establish themselves the rules of their representation), and i guess i just wanted to criticise political/'non-economic' imperfections inside the west instead of western influence outside our borders for once.

/endrant, sry for the length.

I just found out about it today from twitter and tiktok and so far it seems incredibly unorganized. From my brief understanding I guess it’s supposed to be a nationwide strike against paying rent and bills. Some believe this strike is a psyop as one of the organizers is using odd and even coded language that may suggest they’re a conservative/right-wing in general. It also feels like it came out of nowhere, to me for a strike like this to work there must be months and months of planning and setting up mutual aid because without that the strikers will suffer immensely especially those with disabilities.

Anyway I just wanted to know your thoughts and if you’ve even heard about all this.

Edit: here is the website for the strike!

I'm an international student at a US university and was wondering what I can do to advance the Marxist-Leninist cause here?

I was thinking about creating a communist youth league on campus or something of the sort? Maybe an anti-fascist action? Any other ideas?

Is it possible for me to join any nation-wide socialist/communist organization?

What someone said on this book's amazon page: "This book was pretty emotional for me to read and study. I am forced to look at history in the context I live in. Now I see; I've been minding other people's business in so many levels. Now I will develop a Capitalist Mentality and Life Style."

ARE YOU READY TO DO YOUR PART, TROOPER?

Hope Arc (by me): The communist kung fu master, Bruce T (for tankie) , is on the run. Junko Enoshima's Doomerist Jihad has swept the nation and many more, leaving in its wake destroyed city and civilians murdered in cold blood. And worse, his enemy, the Grand Bashar Mukuro Ikusaba, is always only a few steps behind him with an army of monokumas, Despair Speakers, Reserves, and SS at her disposal.

But Bruce holds on to hope. Hope that things will get better, and hope that he will be able to find and join the nascent Red Army.

Despair Arc (by pointtwogo): A grey-scale blurry landscape where nothing is quite as it seems. You see that mail box over there? Go over to it, try touching it. Do not be shocked if you can only touch thin air. This is where the ends of reality are unmet. Do something and you will forget it in a few moments. There's no place for the present here. The past is infinite. Do you see it? See the grey? My dear, this is not real time. You are years behind. But do not worry. In here, in this gray-scale, what have you to worry? Close your eyes. You need not them no more. The grey, the dark and the dull will be in place of you. Let your mind go to the dust. This is your fate anyways. Rest in pieces.

It's about this guy who's an Ultra Despair Trooper, also known as the Reserve Army of Despair.

For example,

60 seconds = 1 minute

60 minutes = 1 hour

24 hours = 1 day

7 day = 1 week

29-31 days = Month (approx.)

365/366 days = year

It's like for the imperial measurement of distance, where 1 mile = 5280 feet...

Edit: just to clarify, I'm more or less keen towards any consistent, decimal-based measurement systems like base-10 or base-12.

And multiply that by 5

Here in the USA, Trumpists are very hostile towards immigrants coming from the Mexican border to the point where they infamously proposed to build a wall. The Biden administration is better in-name only, and has kept the concentration camps at the border.

Why is there so much hatred toward these immigrants? What is the material cause of this?
