From the article:

The scheduling model involves a "7+1" format, which features Mountain West schools playing seven games against conference opponents and one against either Oregon State or Washington State. The agreement would generate 12 additional games for the "Pac-2" in exchange for approximately $14 million direct payment to the Mountain West, according to Yahoo Sports. The scheduling agreement would only be in practice for the 2024 season.

Could be extended for another year (the Pac-12 is only really allowed to exist with less than 8 members for 2 years).

OSU and WSU would not be eligible for the Mountain West Championship Game nor an automatic bid to the College Football Playoff, which expands to 12 teams next season. CFP sources confirmed to Dodd they would be eligible for an at-large berth should they finish in or around the top 12.

For next year, the MAC is going to pods. It's like whatever the B1G does, the MAC wants to do as well (other than aggressively expanding like a madman).

The new scheduling model will eliminate the MAC East and West Divisions. The top two teams based on conference winning percentage will compete in the MAC Football Championship Game at Ford Field in Detroit, Mich.

Had a fantastic 52-9 record at JMU. I hear he still wants to coach the bowl game (haven't seen if that's official).

Also, didn't know this:

six seasons as the head coach at Indiana University of Pennsylvania

Surely there's a joke somewhere in there about Cignetti going to Indiana "again"

The title really buries the lede on how good of a job he did as the HC of Kent State before his half-season stint with the Buffs. (But gotta get that Colorado name-drop in the headline, am I right?)

Promoting both Littrell and Finley, already on staff, to co-OC roles.

Bobby Petrino has agreed to become the next offensive coordinator at Arkansas, and the two sides are finalizing the deal, sources told ESPN on Tuesday.

The hiring of Petrino is expected to require presidential approval, as he was fired for cause during his last stint there.

Texas A&M and Duke's Mike Elko, a former Aggies defensive coordinator, have reached an agreement to make him the school's next head coach, sources told ESPN on Sunday, a day after the regular season ended for both teams.

Feel like with the Aggies, I may still be jumping the gun by posting this, but maybe by level-setting with Stoops, they made "younger Stoops with Aggie ties" look like a better get than he's likely to be.
