RULES

  1. Be respectful: no harassment, hate speech, bigotry, and/or trolling.
  2. Encourage conversation in your OP. This means including heavily implicative subject matter when you can and also engaging in your thread when possible.
  3. Avoid controversial topics (e.g. politics or societal debates).
  4. Stay calm: Don’t post angry or to vent or complain. We are a place where everyone can forget about their everyday or not so everyday worries for a moment. Venting, complaining, or posting from a place of anger or resentment doesn't fit the atmosphere we try to foster at all. Feel free to post those on !goodoffmychest@lemmy.world

Memes about this show are so hard to avoid. After a week of seeing like 4-5 a day I said fuck it and watched a synopsis of the series. The ending seemed insanely contrived which put me off but for some reason I ended up downloading the show and starting it. I got the point where I personally thought they should have ended and then I stopped watching the show.

I'm still confused as to why the hell I watched it in the first place. I mean, it wasn't a waste of my time. Was rather quite enjoyable. At least I can get the fuckin' memes now. Hasn't really changed my opinion on anime (nothing negative, just not really for me 9 times out of 10) but I'm still just.... why the hell did I watch that?

Anything you've watched for reasons that you can't quite place? Whether you loved it or hated it?

Archbishop means “head/leader of the bishops”. “Archduke” means “head/leader of the Archduchy of Austria”. Archnemisis means your main/head nemesis (similar case with archenemy being your worst enemy). Anarchy means there is no state control, or no “head/leader”. No “archy”.

Also, does this mean that Arch Linux is the king of the distros?

It feels awful to me. It used to feel much worse when I was younger for some reason. Touching it felt like it was between by teeth.

I just came back from a 6 week trip to Australia; spending time with my relatives (some of whom I've never met before or haven't seen in 20 years) and I had a really really really great time. Everyone was so welcoming and just appreciative; I was really overwhelmed by how amazing the whole experience was.

On my flight back I was crying the whole time; I never felt like that before and just couldn't handle my emotions (much to the dismay of the people sitting next to me). Most of all I just didn't wanna return to my dysfunctional family in Germany. It's been my goal to move to Australia for some time now but after this experience I'm determined to move as soon as possible. It's gonna take a lot of figuring stuff out and it won't be easy but I'll make it work.

Just wanted to get that out there I guess.

Edit: if someone happens to have a few tips and pointers for me regarding my plans they would be greatly appreciated

One of my friends was horrified that I have daily naps. Just curious how often others nap

So I guess laugh tracks are expired. Also, Shaggy "threw his voice," making it sound like it was coming from another room. We used to believe in this, and quicksand.

So I have a small web app I made. I didn't really advertise much because there's a lot of things I wanna fix in it and I don't have the time. But I did tell a few classmates about it.

Last few days I noticed it had been running slowly. Until one day it just stopped working. I checked the server logs and there was a background worker trying and failing to insert some data into the db on loop because of a bug I didn't notice. The data it was trying to insert was spam so I knew this was an intentional thing. I took the server down and in the process accidentally deleted all the logs. Oops.

So I go and check the database and the user who inserted the spam data used their actual email. I google it, find their GitHub, their twitter, and their fiverr which has their actual name and picture. I search their name in my university system and find them. It's someone I don't know. Someone who heard from a classmate I told about it.

Fixed the bug now, banned the account, removed the spam. I guess you could say they did me a favor catching the bug but they could've just told me about it lol.

The only question left is: should I contact them? Send them a subtle 'I know what you did" message on the uni portal?
