I've put about 40k miles on my 300 cell G-sport cat and it's really smelling like it's not doing much anymore. Anyone having different results?

I've got it mounted in the stock location running a safe tune and pump gas. No burbles/pops or anything I'd expect to kill it early. Not posting to make a dig at the manufacturer, just curious.

Be it siblings, cousins or nephews; start a groupchat with them. The platform dosent matter as long as youre all active and comfortable with it.

It will be a good way to bond and influence their tastes and desicions, especially if they are close to getting their driver's licence or have just got it.

Young car enthusiasts get most of their information through videogames or second-hand sources online (YT,Tiktok etc...) A first hand source from you about buying, driving, maintaining and just the general car ownership experience would help set more realistic views and expectations in general.

We all heard of the 12 year old kid memes where they think 600hp is slow and supras come with 1000hp from factory. Theyrr enthusiastic but misinformed, the latter being the part im adressing.

Personally, I made an IG group with my younger cousins which I called " Cars&Memes.com", The display pic is Doug doing a pog face while driving. We send mostly used car ads and memes, some of them car related, some not. Just having fun and communicating with each other.

I also see it as a way to give back to the car community in general by transferring experiences, knowledge and stories. Not everything is on the internet.

For me - Lincoln LS, 2005 Acura TL, the Legacy GT sedan, RX-8, Mazdaspeed6, Infiniti M45 and the G35 Coupe.

LInk: What Lincoln is this? Looks almost BMW esque but saw no markings on what it could be : r/whatisthiscar

I mean, just look at this LS

For example I actually do like the design of the unique cars that are often considered ugly like the Fiat Multipla, the Chrysler PT Cruiser and the Pontiac Aztec. Everyone always complains about all new cars looking the same but if a manufacturer tries something completely different everyone is shocked and calls it ugly. I really do appreciate new forms and styles and love unique looking cars. In my opinion it should be more appreciated.

been reading alot about old alfettas and gtvs with a bit of porsche from that era(928s,944s and 968s) and so far i've read that they either grind the gears or oil starve and grenade themselves. i haven't read much more into it other than that since theres so many but were there any cars with the front engine rear transaxle layout that were reliable enough with proper maintenance

EDIT: whats the aftermarket transaxle scene like, i rarely see videos of these transaxles from companies like pfitzner or weddle in videos or have them being used or shown in videos other than marketing material.

Its only after 2019 that record attempts have been properly regulated, mandating the full length of the track with a flying start, before that everyone settled on the 20.6km lap

Just seeing a lot of folks who were comparing times from Porsche & Mercedes for 20,600m laps against the ZR1/X and GTD, saying that the 3RS was faster and/or that e.g. it compares to the performante – to add insult to injury until now wikipedia was mixing-and-matching the short and long times.

Both could have done better but the times to compare are as follows:

  • 6:29 - AMG One
  • 6:43 - 2RS Manthey
  • 6:48 - GT Black Series
  • 6:49.275 - ZR1X
  • 6:49.328 - 992.1 3RS
  • 6:49.42 - SVJ
  • 6:50.763 - ZR1
  • 6:51.45 - 2RS non-manthey
  • 6:52.072 - GTD

...

  • 6:56.45 - Huracan Performante

Can't tell if a lot of the folks talking about a 6:40, 6:30 were discussing the shorter or the longer lap. This is also why the 7m Viper ACR lap, as impressive as it is, isn't comparable to the old or new GTD lap, its several more seconds slower comparing apples to apples.

Incredible even considering that how much of a differential the Manthey has, especially over the stock car, some of that down to the tyre (2 vs. 2R) but also had a chance to try a manthey car a good while back and its staggering how much of a difference a few changes made

And tidbit, huracan lap was perfectly legal (much to the dismay of keyboard warriors everywhere at the time) but lamborghini did shave the tires! Mercedes also needed to use a larger front splitter, than retroactively added an extendable version to the production car, not for road use. SVJ lap had a full cage and gutted interior.

But point is, none of this matters too much, they are all fantastic cars, some a bit sketchy, and are on the spectrum of unobtainable, obviously some more than others

Thank you to the one user that fixed the issue: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Special:Contributions/Lostinthecode

The car is great so far! I bought a hatchback hybrid Sport 10 days ago. I had a road trip planned to the Finger Lakes this week. I drove over 500 miles with a mix of highway, country roads and small city stop and go traffic. I returned a measured at-the-gas-pump 48mpg. The hatchback cargo space is cavernous and fit all of my girlfriend’s and my luggage, antiques, and wine we purchased. The car felt competent and safe in wet weather, and fun, responsive, and sporty on dry roads. It rips a 0-60 in just about 6.5 seconds loaded for a road trip and the cabin looks refined and well thought out. A lot of people say the seats aren’t great, but I guess it’s different for everyone they were fine for us. Over all it’s the best all around daily driver I have owned and I have had a lot of cars. It’s a superb combination of refinement, efficiency, practicality, and fun for just over $30k. So far I’m loving it. My only complaint is not having wireless CarPlay so I’ll probably be purchasing an adapter moving forward. I’ll report back with more reviews and any issues I encounter. less

Savagegeese is apparently relaunching their deep-dive series into the automotive industry. As a layperson who's interested in understanding the car industry, it's cool to see such a deep look into the process of making a car.

Btw, this video is 41 minutes long. I think it's worth the watch or listen.

EDIT: This video's core subject is about developing the body structure of a car. So they discuss factors related to it like crash structures, NVH, etc.
