Hi everyone,

Due to recent changes from the Android team, Chromium browsers now require you to choose between using Chrome/Brave autofill or by using another service (like Bitwarden).

Bitwarden 2025.7.0/7.1 is rolling out and will be available for everyone soon.

Chromium Browser autofill

  • Ensure Chrome/Brave and Bitwarden are updated

  • In Bitwarden, visit Settings > Autofill > use Chrome/Brave Autofill integration > Autofill using another service

  • Click the restart Chrome/Brave button

Android Device autofill

  • In Bitwarden, visit Settings > Autofill > Autofill services > choose Bitwarden as your preferred service for passwords, passkeys, & autofill

  • Choose between inline or popup

Autofill improvements

2025.7.0/7.1 includes autofill improvements, and will be available for everyone soon.

Since I'm already expected to remember a complex master password for bitwarden, it seems a bit too much to remember another long password for my mobile device and another for my laptop.

Do you all use the another complex password as a screen lock? Or a simpler password/pin which is easier to remember? What about biometrics? Cuz guarding access to the device itself is as important as guarding the Bitwarden vault.

Bring your personality to the Android app with the new option for Dynamic colors, built on the Google Material You design. When turned on, the app UI will change colors to match the background image of your device. Use your own background or download the Bitwarden-designed wallpapers that emulate classic themes like Pure Black and Nord.

Is anyone else having insane amounts of trouble getting the bitwarden android app to autofill?

(it's explicitly selected at the default autofill app in androids settings, as well as specifically in apps where they have the options available)

It seems to be getting worse and worse; now ~80% of the time lately auto-fill absolutely REFUSES to popup AT ALL. (it was closer to 20% until recently)

Restart the app I'm using (doesn't matter which one, they are all affected), restart bitwarden, force stop everything, fully restart the device; it doesn't make a difference, bitwarden just refuses to pop up now, forcing me to copy passwords into my clipboard manually.

Hi everyone,

Due to recent Docker container limitations, we have migrated our images from Docker Hub to GitHub Container Registry.

If you are deploying using methods that do not utilize the bitwarden(.)sh or bitwarden(.)ps1 scripts, please take a moment to update your image references to the new GitHub Container Registry URLs.

Example

E.g. ghcr.io/bitwarden/image_name:version

Support for FIDO2 (WebAuthn) two-step login on macOS is added with release v2025.2.1. This means you will be able to use a security key (e.g. Yubikey) as a second factor to protect your login.

It is now supported on:

  • Desktop: Windows, MacOs
  • Browser extensions: all FIDO2 supported Browsers
  • Mobile apps: Android and iOS 13.3+

E-Mail codes (feddit.org)

Randomly, some websites seem to have a lot of fun breaking password managers. One inconvenience is sites now often asking for user name and password separately.

Another inconvenience is sites that use six-digit emailed codes instead of passwords. Which is just massively inconvenient because not only do I need to have an email program at the computer I am at, I also need to switch back and forth and copy-paste stuff.

Is there any password manager that works with those? Is there a way to get these codes working with Bitwarden even?

I wouldn’t put anything past a trifecta republican party with a conservative supreme court.

They will be beefing up the NSA to find the targets on their “enemy list”.

I had signed up for a fediverse service (i think it was pixelfed) but i forgot the name of the server. I was hoping i could look at newest items instead of launching every item i do not immediately recognize.

You can download it from F-Droid or use the F-Droid release flavour when downloading from github, but IMO they should be removed from all releases

Hi Bitwarden community,

We understand that many of you want more control over the visibility of All Items. We’re working on adjustments to make this possible.

With this update, you’ll be able to control the visibility of the 'All Items' view. Here's a work-in-progress screenshot of this update. We are still refining the details but we hope to have something out in the very near future.

Clicking on All items

All items hidden

Your feedback has been really helpful to our team, so please continue sharing your thoughts in the comments!

Thank you!

Hi everyone,

First off, thank you for sharing your honest feedback on the recent changes to the autofill experience in the Bitwarden browser extension.

We’ve been closely monitoring your comments and are actively working to address the concerns you’ve raised. While I don’t have a confirmed timeline for the updated changes just yet, I wanted to give you a preview of a setting we will be adding to the extension very soon.

Settings > Autofill > Click items to autofill

Settings > Autofill > Click items to autofill

For those who prefer the classic autofill experience, where clicking anywhere on a vault item fills it directly, this setting will restore that functionality and remove the fill button.

For those of you wanting to preview this change you may do so from our PR. https://github.com/bitwarden/clients/pull/12557

Thank you for your patience and for being part of the Bitwarden community. We'll update you as soon as this is available.
