[ A graceful, long-legged dog with long pale fur stands on a dirt path, alert but calm. Behind the dog, is a mist-enshrouded forest of bare trees. ]

She's a mini dachshund from Manitoba. She loves everyone she meets, but above all else, she loves food.

Abaddon and Apocalypse in a rare moment of calm. Normally they’re living up to their names.

Started dating my girlfriend about 4 years ago and she found a stray pretty much before she found me.

Her name was Belalaika, and before her I was never really a cat person. She was always nervous around her roommates and I spent lots of time giving her the confidence that she was bigger and stronger than them. She adjusted well.

About 14 months ago she was diagnosed with an aggressive cancer and we lost her early this week. It’s been really hard, harder than ever anticipated. I miss her furry ass so much.

We have no idea her prior history or how old she was but I hope these last few years with us was amazing for her as it was for us.

I wish my first post on Lemmy was a happy one, but rest assured the amount of happiness she gave to me is beyond anything I ever had with a cat. I bid you adieu my beloved cat, no words can ever tell her how much I miss her.
