So, obviously there's a mistake in my reasoning somewhere. Maybe I've pointed it out already I'm not sure.

You have a vat with some liquid. The ambient temperature X (which is low and not useful) keeps it at X temperature, a certain base level of energy. Through random collisions as temperature works some will get more energy than the average and get enough energy to evaporate. You separate those passively since it's literally a phase change it could be done passively? (Leaving you with slightly less energy in the environment but which is in our case infinite since eventually you'd give the energy back before changing it a lot when doing useful things) with the now higher energy particles you have in a separate place?

It automatically turns high entropy useless environment thermal energy into higher more useful energy? (Cascade the same system many times for really high useful energy?)

This only works if the separation step can be done passively (or uses less energy than you gain from it) I guess but that seems maybe plausible considering the phase change?

My friend and I were talking about power requirements in loudspeaker design and the fact that almost all of the power is required to drive the woofers and move lots of air.

Then he asked "do basses exert more energy talking or singing than sopranos?"

Or put another way, does a lower frequency voice need more power (energy) to achieve the same volume as a high voice?

Like Campi Flegrei: https://www.thelocal.it/20250718/naples-and-campi-flegrei-shaken-by-4-0-magnitude-quake Which has had earthquake swarms, though admittedly its somewhat of a normality in the area

Idaho Volcano's / Yellow Stone https://www.ktvb.com/article/news/local/stanley-earthquake-swarm-brings-hundreds-quakes-not-over/277-7aa1da74-a7bd-4381-b6cb-71a16cd04def

Also Japan's recent activity that's led to fears of larger eruptions: https://uk.news.yahoo.com/spectacular-aerials-show-shinmoedake-erupting-020000376.html

Though most don't seem to definitively suggest a "Super Volcano Eruption" what's the likelihood of an eruption of that mythical scale occurring in our lifetimes ?

Do we have the technology to play minigolf using subatomic particles?

If the particles become waves when no one is looking that is ok a little cheating and magic is in the spirit of minigolf handwaving.

I am NOT talking about making a putter and golfball and snapping a cute shot I am dead serious I want to play the tiniest golf possible.

I think i've discovered something important in the field I dabble in as a advanced hobbyist. Like this was a breakthrough and perspective shift enough for me to stay awake all night into the morning until I had to go to sleep testing it works and boilerplating the abstract paper. I constructed a theoretical framework, practical implementation, and statistically analyzed experimental results across numerous test cases. I then put my findings into as good a technical paper as I could write up. I did as much research as I could to make sure nobody else had written about this before.

At this point though I don't really know how to proceed. Im an outsider systems engineer not an academic, and arXiv requires you be endorsed/recognized as a member of the scientific community with like a college email or written recommendation by someone already known. Then whenever I look at the papers on arxiv they always look a very specific way I cant get with libreoffice writer. Theres apparently a whole bunch of rules on formatting and font and style and this and that. Its overwhelming and kind of scary.

So. What do i do here? I have something I think is important enough to get off my ass and get in touch with a local college to maybe get a recommendation. I'd like to have my name in the community and contribute.

Heat is a form of energy right? So if we take away the energy from the Air we have concentrated some heat elswhere which we should be able to harvest? So i ask myself why are Air conditioners not a source of energy?

So forgive me if this topic borders too much on religion, but this is something I've never understood.

For those who don't know what an NDE is, its a observed phenomenon where someone who is considered clinically or even full on brain dead. But then the person is revived and explains they had a sensation of floating out of their body and even observe the doctors working on them, some even claim to have heard conversations from far away, spoken with dead relatives, and some even claimed to have seen despite being blind.

Oh my god. Proof that souls exist, theologians rejoice, we have debunked materialism and proven life after death.

Only hold on not quite. No one buys it outside of a devoted few with various objections claiming it to be hallucination, the result of drugs, or even hoaxes perpetuated by the religious.

Except research conducted by men like Sam Parnia rules that out and shows that conciousness persists after death.

So.. afterlife confirmed right? No people just label Parnia crazy and continue to say this is nothing, even after the debunks fail to land. Even after this gets reported thousands of times in various regions and the only thing that changes is whether people see Jesus, Grandma, or Shiva.. aside from that little detail they remain uniform.

And well I never understood why.

I asked skeptics and they claim that the people are merely near death, not actually dead and thus it doesn't count.

Only problem is that even if the person is barely clinging onto life there's still the issue of conciousness being strong and present where none can exist.

If my computer's power supply was on the fritz and stopped working for a second yet my computer remained just as functional as ever during the few moments the PSU wasn't working. I'd consider that an oddity. I wouldn't say "Oh the PSU still kinda works, the fact that it completely tapped out for a solid three-minutes yet my PC stayed on is not weird at all."

So to say "Oh they're just NEAR death." Is simply moving the goal post and not a satisfactory answer.

I ask proponents and they tell me that NDEs are completely proven and that the afterlife is for realsies, but big bad Academia won't listen to anything that contradicts a physicalist view of the universe.

The problem with that is that's the excuse creationists give as to why no one believes the Earth is 6000 years old. Which is so blatantly falsified by even a cursory glance at science that its not even funny.

So that's not it. Unless I want to entertain conspiracy nonsense. Which I do not.

So I ask the scientifically trained what the real answer is, because obviously I missed something in all the data on NDEs that I'm simply too dense to figure out.

In movies it is shown that through polygraph test it can be found whether a person is lying or not. But we all know that it is not correct. What I am asking can the polygraph test be modified, more data collected so that it becomes more accurate ? Also is there any alternative to polygraph machine to find whether a person is lying ?

This summer and last I started feeling the bite of mosquitoes, like, not the itch, but the moment they "bite". Like a thin shot or a thin plant spike but more than fiberglass. Is there an evolutionary or environmental change to mosquitoes happening, or am I becoming immune to their numbing agent? What's happening?

We know pretty well what matter is and how it interacts with the others.

Dark matter interacts through gravity but not light. Beyond that I haven't heard much else.

And lastly anti-matter has an opposite charge and interacts with matter through annihilation. I think I remember hearing that it would react with dark matter the same way.

So my question is, does anti-dark matter exist, and what are it's properties?

I understand why we can't see stars during the day: the sun illuminates the atmosphere and effectively blots them out. But why can't we see low earth orbit satellites, which are not exactly "outside" the atmosphere? If they're inside, shouldn't we see them reflecting sunlight back to us?

TNO = trans neptunian object, basically far out dwarf planet

Obviously there would be less sun to greenhouse, but theoretically could that be a way to have closer-to-earth habitats far away from a star?

I've been hoodwinked too many times by well-reviewed pop-sci books which I later discovered to be hated by the actual scientists who do the work. Quantum Supremacy by Michio Kaku was the final straw 😆

Cheers!

I just watched a Geology Hub upload on the Cerberean Caldera super eruption in what is now Australia. It happened over 300 million years ago, but in terms of the total age of the planet, even 300 million years is a relatively tiny blip. So have there been any significant epics to truly say events like x, y, or z will never happen again – in any statistically significant way? Will there be another Deccan or Siberian Traps or Columbia River Flood Basalts – one geologic timescale day in the future and countless more in the eons to follow?

So Hi everyone, first of all let me just say sorry if u can't get my writing 😭.

I am from pakistan just turned 21 this june. I got very bad hair problems, I'll be attaching image for you guys to look and give me some manly advice without some social media shit like monoxdile, do this, this serum, this mask, this water and sooo on. So I got grey hairs already like 30 40 percentage of hairs are already grey so along with grey hairs i have got these issues: 1: Grey hairs (30 to 40%) 2: I got rough hairs 3: Started baldness if not wrong from front line. My front line hair are not growing well as you can see in the image. 4: I also got mostly dandruff issue but using shampoo like (selsun or selsum blue) or maybe Head and shoulder can mostly control it. 5: I have noticed that i guess my hair growth has been slowed down pretty well. 6: Mostly hair falls when ever i set hairs with my hands, if shampoo, and comb i got hairs falls like hell sometimes

So i need some real advice from people maybe doctors, one with same issues cured or uncured but not other shits.

How to deal with all this. I got pretty hectic routine going to start like night shift and studies so can't focus on routines. I do gym, i got good diet like very very low fast food consumption.

Exactly what should I use or do to make all these things under control maybe with a shampoo or product ? I do oiling as well like there is a oil named Tara meera oil that is like a pepper on a cut 💀 but u know what i want is to get a good hair not a very very good model like hair. Just good hailrs that i can grow, make them long aand style. That's it.

What will you guys suggest. Anyone with suggestions of any kind are welcome to deliver but try to avoid some fake social media and long care products and routine for hair as I can't really afford, as well as can't really focus and do. Most i can do is to oil hairs once a week, do shampoo or maybe conditioner if it is good for hair and use some easy suppliments like Evion that i take already. Tried 60 biotin tablets once from a company called nutrifactor but I don't think i get any results. So yeah this is it. Really appreciate if u guys can share your experience, your suggestions and things works for you. Thank again ❤️1000039095100003909010000390891000039088

Wherever there is matter in an ever-thinning universe, there might be an entire cosmologically-sized era dominated by an entirely different chemistry to what we have now.

Are these three statements true:

(1) We can observe where A hits (thereby seeing A as a particle instead of a wave) before B’s path determines the availability of information?

(2) Measuring where A hits, (even if done with thousands of previous data points of A sorted by B hits showing the interference patterns) has no predictive power over whether B’s whichpath information will be erased or not?

(3) Whether or not B’s whichpath information was erased, has predictive power over where A landed?

Theoretically space is infinite, as it is the ultimate container. So how does it expand? For example if you keep adding objects to a room the room isn’t gonna expand, you’re gonna run out of space. So how does space expand if the cause of it is apparently dark matter being created?
