I don't mean something like "pour" or "mix" in the English language. The word should capture the idea of pouring from one vessel into another with the goal of going from a semi-heterogenous solution to a mostly-homogeneous solution.

I commonly do this to mix my cocktails. I'm not sure why, but it just seems quicker/easier than either shaking or stirring.

I've been dealing with dandruff since I was a kid, it's always made me really insecure and always wear a hat. I've tried plenty of different hair products, none seem to work. It's not just my hair on my scalp, it's my beard as well. I'm a 19 year old male (Caucasian), I've been already deciding if I want to go bald or not. I want to know if the car I'm renting comes with liability insurance. I just want to be sure that if I am at fault in an accident, that the other car will be covered. Lets try to ignore any personal car insurance policy and let's ignore collision insurance for now.

I am under the impression that in many countries they are required to give you liability insurance when you rent the car, but I don't have a good source. Many articles have mixed information.

For the US, this article says:

For a registered car rental company in the US, they must provide a minimum level of liability protection for cars they rent out.

But this other article says

In the U.S., every state requires a minimum amount of liability insurance on car insurance policies, so you may already have liability coverage through your personal auto insurance.

Which sounds like in the US your personal insurance is all you have.

Kind of in response to an earlier post in here about trailers that spoil everything, I think it is easier nowadays to count how many didn't spoil everything.

I saw the trailer for "American society of magical Negroes" and it looked kinda funny in the first 20 seconds, then the trailer went on to show what I'm pretty sure was literally everything in the movie.

Are there any other trailers that made you lose all interest in seeing it because it showed literally everything?

Today in a Privacy community a post about YouTube. No word about privacy but all about which software or settings are needed to watch videos and the money needed to host videos. It made me wonder whether some of you can lead a meaningful life without YouTube. Or will a cold turkey bring the worst out of you ?

Hello, I've been looking for a song that I used to listen to for the past couple months. It was a rap song with I believe a fat Chicano man in front of a pyramid with a lowrider in front of it (I'm describing the album cover). Had a heart beep style beat like 'bum bum - bum bum bum - bum bum bum - beep' it was cool as shit. The music video is where they speed around in a lowrider I think. I believe it may have been around the 2000s era, maybe the late 90s.The song is in English, I am not sure what else I can say about it

It's a classic techno song that might be described as EuroTrance. I think I've heard the song but I'm asking for a friend. It's possible it might be an instance of the Mandela effect because the song can't be found anywhere.

I've been discussing with my sister (a big fan of her cats) about what lives we would save in an emergency. I think a human live is worth more than an animal's no question asked but she thinks otherwhise. So to end this discussion I'm writing here.

With so many variations of Lemmy and fediverse instances, are there any defenses against a malicious server running altered code? Is there a way to prove what code is supposed to be running on each instance?

Ive got the Spotify premium subscription and want to be able to play specific podcast episodes via my smartwatch so I need a way to get the audio in a simple format, it doesn't have to be high quality.

Practically every email I've received in maybe the past year has started with "I hope you are well". I even had an LLM draft a placeholder email for me and it started with the same thing. This has not always been the case and it's strange to me that everyone I interact with begins their emails with this line. Frankly, it's annoying AF.

What gives? Who started this? Why has it become so prevalent? More importantly, how do we stop it?

While I'm at it, if you work in tech / customer support, I urge you to speak with your supervisors to minimize the boiler plate copy paste trash you insert into your emails. People dealing with shit that's not working as intended or desired do not have the mental or emotional capacity to wade through your platitudinal nonsense. Get to the fucking point.
