I normally take my watch off when going to the hot sauna and steam room, however I noticed some people come in wearing their apple watches, I keep wondering if this is safe especially for the battery to be exposed to such high temperatures and for the watch electronics overall ?

I still think it is unsafe but correct me if I’m wrong

Right now it’s showing the name I put for my Apple ID but I want it to use the name I set for myself in the contacts and my nickname, whenever my watch sends me a fitness notifications it always says Jay which is the name I want it to use, but here it doesn’t, is there anyway I can change it?

My partner and I are currently long distance. One thing that we like to do is FaceTime as we fall asleep together. My problem is, I don’t necessarily like my phone running all night until I wake up and it’s also harder to hear my alarms go off when in a FaceTime call. Is there any sort of timer that can be set that can end the FaceTime call while I’m asleep? Thanks!

If I call someone and it rings four times then goes to voicemail, is it a sure thing that I’m not blocked? We both have iPhones btw.

Just curious what is typical! Mine is usually anywhere from 20 minutes on a bad night to an hour and 20 minutes on a good night. My average is 37 minutes which feels not great.

Hello! I have the iphone 15pro and it is configurated to HEIC files for pictures. This doesnt work well with my computer. I know that i can change it to JPG (more compatible option), but i wonder if the loss of quality is significant? Will i notice a lot of difference between a picture saved as HEIC and a picture saved as JPG?

I’m not a professional, just someone who likes to take great pictures of my puppy… nevertheless that’s why I bought the PRO for better camera. Will i miss out a lot on quality by setting it to JPG instead of Heic (noticably for ‘just me’, not professionals/experts).

(I don’t edit my pictures etc)

I am using a 15 Plus. I know screen off is accurate in my case as I was listening to podcasts still using battery. I’ve seen people with 14 series and with the 15 PM show screen idle. Why would the 12, 13 series, and the 15, 15 Plus show screen off while the 14 series and 15 Pros show idle? Is there a setting that changes this? Just curious.

I've connected my AW 7 with the Garmin HR dual strap. How to ensure the HR reading is obtained from the strap during activities? There is no indication.

Hi, I use a 2020 MacBook air M1.

After one hour in a video call (Microsoft Teams) I get overheating issues. I use my MacBook with one external Screen and use notes while video calls.

Is this normal or should I change something to fix this?

I'm seriously considering switching from my Google Pixel to the new iPhone, but I have one major concern: do iPhones not have front-facing cameras? I've noticed that almost every selfie I see on Instagram is taken using a mirror in someone's room or bathroom, and I'm starting to worry that I won't be able to take selfies anymore if I switch to an iPhone.

Is this just a weird coincidence, or is there something I'm missing? Do iPhones really not have front-facing cameras? If not, why do so many people seem to be using mirrors to take selfies?

Lately, on iOS 17 (the last few versions), when I get a text and click the notification or navigate to the message, it jumps back several days or weeks to old messages. And then you have to scroll back to your current messages. If you even notice it in the first place.

Anyone else notice this? Happens in other messaging apps as well.

My old iPhone XR has become incredibly slow and the battery is getting less than desirable. I am waiting to see if there is going to be any. Black Friday deals and maybe purchase a new phone. If that’s the case can I just buy a phone from Apple or wherever the deal is and stick the current SIM card in the new phone and expect it to work? Or do I have to buy it from AT&T?

Kind of funny. Long story short, my headphones broke and since this is my first iPhone after 13 years on Android, I just had to try it out. My initial thought was that the pixel didn’t have a dac and neither did the USB hub, but it works on the iPhone and I’m a bit surprised 😂👏

My brother's iPhone 11 fell from the first floor, and along with its screen that also damaged the radio, which means no internet, wifi, or bluetooh.

The screen is working fine, although cracked and I want to recover its data since getting it fixed doesn't seems like a wise option at this point.

Connecting it to PC via the USB, only shows like 10-12 images. Same with iTunes, there it shows nothing inside Photos. Even iCloud is asking some codes to access iCloud's data, as he has enable some authentication on top of it.

Given the fact that he has never logged into any other device with his Apple ID, what are they ways in which he can recover his data (basically photos/videos), without having to get his phone's radio fixed.

My iphone XS max has been dying at 10 percent battery lately and my battery health is normal percentage and it says my battery is supporting normal peak performance

I have an Apple TV box. Every time I attempt to stream a video from my iPhone or iPad to the box using screen mirroring or AirPlay, it disconnects after a couple of minutes of playback. This occurs typically every 2-6 minutes. I'm wondering if Apple intentionally causes this to prevent watching content from websites? What should I do? I'm extremely frustrated with this situation already.

If I get a replacement via Applecare for a broken Watch 7, will it come with watchOS 10 on it?

Alright, so this is a metric that is accessed on the iPhone itself but since it reads data from the Apple Watch I assume it’s okay to post it here.

Does anyone else see HUGE swings in the “total calories” number in the Fitness app? On Monday, I burned 470 move calories and allegedly a total of 2159. Yesterday, I burned 548 calories and a total of 2708. I update my weight regularly in the Health app, so it’s not like my watch thought I was 150 lbs one day and 200 lbs the next. So what gives? I’d like to use total calories to calculate a good dietary calorie budget for weight loss but I worry about the accuracy. Guess I should mention I’ve got a Series 6.

Edit: just checked my Resting Energy and I’m seeing the discrepancies there as well. Monday it’s at 1687 (which is definitely below my BMR as a 200 lb 6 ft man), yesterday it’s 2159. I wear my watch consistently from 6 am to 10 pm

Buying a 15” MBA going with 1tb ssd. Is there a need for 24 gb of ram or would 16 be good. Using web browsing, movies and some Civ/minecraft. I have a 2011 and put 1 tb drive in it as photos take up a lot of room. Maybe an external drive is better.
