Can I use a MagSafe to connect to my car to use CarPlay? Car doesn’t support Bluetooth CarPlay.

Where are the best Black Friday deals for purchasing an iPhone 15 pro at the lowest price ?

I recently upgraded to an iphone 15 Pro Max, and the camera is comparitively huge to my previous phone. I always used to keep my phone camera side down, but with this one I’m a bit hesitant. I usually just put it screen side down.

What do you guys prefer? Which is safer?

I’m need to replace my iPhone 8 so that I can update my S7 watch. The Apple guy suggested that my comparatively light use of the phone would be most economically served with a new iPhone SE. My 20 year old child says the SE is a shitty phone. For those of you who have paired their apple watch to a SE, are there any issues? Thanks!

My father has early dementia, still fairly independent but I want to keep track of him. He is aware I will be doing this.

I've given him my old iPhone on a simple talk and text plan with no data. If I want his iPhone to Share Location indefinitely with my iPhone, does he require data on his plan? If so roughly how much a month would be required? I'm in Canada if that matters.

I don't believe it to be accurate. Months ago, I turned off Optimized Battery Charging to see if I could "use it up" at all, nope.

Does anyone know if there's a reset on Battery Health, so however the Battery Health is calculated, it re-calculates from scratch?

I had 84% of maximum capacity and I did a calibration of the battery (Charged to 100% --> draining all battery --> waiting 8 hours --> charged again to 100% waiting another 8 hours --> and a forced restart) and after the calibration the maximum capacity shows me 78%.

Not looking forward to that, but is what I'll be doing that unless someone knows of a software/ui means of achieving the same?

(I've been holding on to AppleCare+ for a full extra year until the battery drained to 79%, so I could then get the battery replaced. At this rate, I wish I'd let AppleCare+ expire. I'd assumed I could use-up 8% in a year, but it literally hasn't dropped a single percentage. I think it is stuck, and as soon as I let AppleCare+ expire, it is going to plummet.)

I have an iphone 8 and watch se 2, I try to pair them but it says I need ios 17. is there a workaround for this or am I screwed? I looked online and some people seem to have downloaded a beta version of ios 17 via apple developer app, but they look schetchy.

I purchased my Apple Watch Ultra specifically for swimming based on the claims Apple made that it would track (list of swimming strokes) and laps. I purchased this watch February 08, 2023. I have previously owned other Apple watches that tracked swims fine. This watch worked great when first purchased. I am now in the position with the watch reports inaccurate lap times, over-counts number of laps, and frequently misidentifies the swim strokes. I keep a log of workouts at the pool so I can compare with the watch and enter the data in a swim journal I keep. I mainly swim in coached workouts and it is very important for me to have accurate times and distances.

I have contacted apple through Apple Support, was sent to the Health App people, who sent it up to their engineers who now tell me that the watch is not intended to work as I am using it, that it will not track if rests are taken, that I must be doing something wrong, that it cannot track rests...blah blah blah. I provided images of several sessions, along with photos of my poolside log, which is a complete record or the workout. The Apple support rep insists I cannot get to a manager and he is the highest I can go.

I am a long time Apple user and am completely frustrated. Because I do NOT see a lot of complaints about this, I might suggest that is another piece of evidence this watch has got problems.

Should I march it into the nearest Apple store and demand satisfaction?

This is the second time this has happened. I don’t remember what I did to correct it last time.

When I put my Apple watch series 8 cellular on the charger the Apple logo will turn on and off. If it isn’t on the charger it’s a black screen. When the watch is not on the charger and I press and hold the side button nothing happens, but when I press and hold the crown the logo will turn on the off.

How can I fix this without going to or sending my watch for repair?

I have tried force reset, charging, and completely resetting factory settings.

I’m in the UK so it’d need to be UK airtimes.

I've been wanting to switch from the Samsung Galaxy ecosystem for a while. I bought an iPhone, which I quite liked and wanted to buy an apple watch. I decided to go for the SE as I have no reason for more.

But now I'm refunding it since apparently it doesn't support an on screen keyboard even though I paid extra for the larger 44mm. But I have to pay EVEN MORE for a Series 9 to get a SOFTWARE FEATURE.

Why?! It's not like it costs Apple any extra to put a bunch of pixels on a screen. Not being able to reply to texts is a crucial feature for me on the apple watch.

And no, dictation doesn't cut it. It's awful in my language and creates unnecessary noise. Scribbling is painfully slow and makes you look like an idiot. And of course whipping out your iPhone to write defeats the whole purpose.

On my Galaxy Watch 5 Pro (which despite its Pro name cost me about as much as the SE) I was able to install Gboard and use swipe type which lets me write multi word sentences pretty quickly. Don't tell me that the 3 trillion dollar company can't figure it out.

Anyone elses double tap function acting kinda funky after the 10.1.1 update?

Whenever i get a notification and i double tap to try and dismiss it, it usually never dismisses... My Apple Watch just picks the first option that pops up, whether that would be "Reply" "Like" etc.

Worked just fine the night before it auto updated... Anyone else experiencing this? or am i just doing something wrong. :S

Hello! I work with many Spanish-speaking people. I'm trying to transition from my Pixel 6 to an iPhone. I have taken for granted that my Pixel 6 will translate Spanish -> English directly inside WhatsApp, no need to copy/paste into another app. I figured the iPhone must have implemented that same functionality long ago, but it seems not be the case. I really need the same thing on my iPhone, but I simply cannot find any way to do it. Does this functionality exist in iPhone or third-party apps for iPhone? Thanks in advance.

So the post-processing on my 14 PM is a hit or miss so I tend to take pictures using raw format most of the time. Sometimes though when I click edit on the native photos app the raw image is worse than the processed image. Is there any workaround to this?

Is anyone aware of any Black Friday deals on VPN providers that have native Apple TV apps? I've been testing Safe Shell, and like the per-app configuration, but sadly they don't appear to be running any deals/sales.

Purchased a refurbished 2016 SE, in settings battery health is 100% but whenever I download anything like apps or podcasts the battery drains really fast, like 4-5% per app download. Is this normal? Or should I return the device?

I have a 2 month old 14 pro max and I have seen that a lot of YouTubers have complained of battery health degradation after 1 year with overnight charging.

Everyday, by the end of the day, my phone comes down to 70 or 60 percent. After I come back home from work, I put it for charging and by 10 pm, it is 100% charged. I then take it of the charger.

Is this a good way of charging? Please advise.

I saw this on an apple forum and wanted to see if this resonates with anyone here. I bought the newest apple watch series 9 and had to return it.

I picked up my watch around 7 pm, and went to sleep with it immediately after buying it. After I woke up the next day (8 hours later), I fainted for the first time in my life. I stayed off of the apple watch for 2 weeks to see if it was anything else health related (saw a bunch of doctors for retina/neurology/primary) and all health visits were fine. I put it on to try it one more time after 2 weeks and within 5 minutes felt dizzy and like I had vertigo.

I reported this to apple but they had a really weird idea that I was using the watch too much which they can monitor by looking at screen time and seemed like a wild guess since I know I barely used it. Posting for awareness to see if anyone else has faced this.

I currently live in Brazil and I noticed that when I changed my region to the United States, for example, some functions stopped working (such as Siri and notifications).

Does the region of the phone interfere with something or I can use any region that I want?

I want to use the apple watch purely for Siri setting timers, reminders, and appointments. I care zero about activity tracking or other features, maybe to control my podcasts. I usually opt for the pro version / top end version of everything to future proof as I hold onto my devices for 5 years, but is the SE good enough for my use case? Looking for opinions from SE owners.

When I used an android phone I had the same phone case for 2 years until I got tired of it. Now that I got an iPhone this year I got it one case for 7$(I knew I could go caseless for a few weeks because shein has some cases for 1$ but I was impatient and I heard those break easily, also when I saw the apple logo on the back on the case I was like "That's the exact phone case I wanted!") but I still bought my phone a purple phone case. Then i saw this pretty clear phone case and I had to buy it too. But a while ago I had to buy something for 1$ to get a discount and I had to buy another basic clear case. So now I own 4 phone cases and I switch them some days. I want to buy more cases but I am just waiting for the clear ones to turn yellow so I can throw them away. If I am buying a case I need it to be justified.

I have battery optimization off and the 80% limit off, but my phone is still charging only to 80%. What could be happening?
