On my iPhone 12 Pro I used to be able to see live activity on my iPhone whenever I started an indoor workout. And when I click on the live activity it would give me the iPhone version of the workout app on the iPhone.

I got a new iPhone 15 pro max and just can’t get it working. I have enabled live activities for the fitness app and still no luck.

Does anyone know how it get it working like it did on my iPhone? It was extremely useful to see all the stats on my iPhone in real time rather than glancing at my watch every few mins.

I can't charge my iPhone 15 Pro with the original adapter I use for the 13 Pro; it keeps disconnecting and reconnecting. When I use a Samsung or MacBook charger, everything works fine. Has anyone else encountered a similar issue? Thanks

I have absolutely terrible service at work. I’m talking text having a progress bar bad and certain parts of the floor has my phone going into SOS mode. The work wifi blocks reddit and many other sites (even stuff I need for work). Spotify works on the work wifi though, so I want to be on the wifi for that purpose.

I see a toggle in the Reddit settings for disabling cellular service. Is there a way to force it to use cellular only even when connected to wifi?

Hi everyone,

I'm looking to upgrade from my current M1 MBA to a refurbished M2 Pro 14 inch MBP (about $1500). Recently , my work load on the Air has increased a bit since I'm doing some intensive matlab simulations. I can see the 8GB of RAM isn't sufficient since it almost goes full and the swap memory reaches like 3-4GB with CPU usage going to 100%. Tried running on a colleague's M3 Pro and it runs great. It's battery life is about similar to the M1 Air he said But since that unit is quite pricey I decided to got with the M2 Pro MBP.

I know the M2 Pro though has a bit lower battery life than the M3 Pro model. But I wanted some users perspective here. How has been your experience with the machine? How was your average battery life like with normal stuff, like emails, browsing and some videos maybe. You know the general office and home stuff. For heavy stuff I am prepared for lower battery life due to more power consumption, so that's fine with me. Thanks.

Hey everyone. So I have an iPhone XS Max (yeah it's old), and according to GPS reports from the forest service, it's just (about) as accurate other iPhones for GPS: https://www.fs.usda.gov/database/gps/mtdcrept/accuracy/index.htm ... Claims that I should be able to get 3-5m accuracy at best, and more like 11-13m accuracy in the woods/city/etc. Which actually seems about right.

Well I'm using some apps (specifically for disc golf) where I'd really like to have a lot better accuracy. I mean, if you are laying out a path (or disc golf course in this case), having a 40ft accuracy difference, on either end, means a 175ft hole might get measured as high as 255ft, or as low as 95ft. (and even in best cases, a 15ft difference adds up.

I was trying to do some research on how to get better accuracy. I was hoping to find something like an external antenna that I could add just to increase accuracy a bit more. Like getting down to 1m accuracy. But for every website saying 'add an external antenna', none seem to exist? Looking more, I found some devices like the GLO 2 which don't seem like they'll be really that much better, claiming a 3m accuracy. Or you end up with something crazy expensive ($5000) that gives sub-centimeter accuracy.

What am I missing (or am I not). Are there not any ways to just 'boost' a little bit, via an external antenna or separate device? Without going to extremes?

I recently got a 15 Pro in Blue Titanium... I love the colour so much without a case but it seems to really not work well with cases. I've got this black one on now and I can't tell if it looks okay or not like it feels a bit awkward to me idk

Since at least a few months I am experiencing strange vibrations on my Apple Watch:

  • vibrations are always the same: one short vibration, pause, 2 short vibrations;
  • their intensity is between wheel haptics and "reminder to get up and walk" notification - small enough not notice it when walking, and a single vibration duration is very short - say 100ms-ish;
  • the pause between vibrations is between 2-8 seconds;
  • they also occur in Sleep mode;
  • as for their frequency, they seem to occur at least every hour (mostly at 45-00 minutes), although without a fixed schedule. The shortest period I noticed was ~17 minutes. They also don't happen on 00 seconds.

After reading similar posts on this subreddit I've tested following ideas that didn't work:

  • cover watch face to silence notification - disabled, also vibrations occur either when watch is not covered or was covered for some time;
  • chimes - disabled;
  • hidden notifications - I've checked all installed apps and all of them have either fully disabled or fully enabled notifications. These vibrations also occured when I was actively using phone and no notification popped up;
  • notification on watch - nothing appears on screen during vibration;
  • two fingers screen touch - doesn't even work for me;
  • they are not phantom - multiple times I was able to touch watch with another hand to feel two vibrations after pause.

They are most noticeable at night when trying to sleep, that's how I noticed them in the first place. What could they be?

Hi all,

I recently purchased the following MacBook Air for £1649:

  • 13 inch
  • M2 chip
  • 8-core CPU
  • 10-core GPU
  • 16-core Neural Engine
  • 16GB unified memory
  • 512GB SSD storage

This came with the £140 Apple gift card.

I was very close to alternatively purchasing the M3 14 inch MacBook Pro with the exact same spec for £1899. I couldn’t make a decision so I decided to go with the Air given the time-sensitive Black Friday Deal.

I’m now wondering if I made a mistake, given the difference in price isn’t huge (£390 with the gift card factored in).

I don’t want to tip over £2,000 so 16GB is my max for the Pro, which is what put me off as I had read that this wouldn't be enough to 'future-proof' it.

I’m currently on a base model 2019 13 inch Pro FYI, so I'm aware either of these models will be a significant upgrade.

I need to use my laptop for sheets, docs, canva, slack, photoshop, video editing and podcasts/music/youtube. I don’t game.

Any advice for me?

Do I stick with the M2 Air, return it for the M3 Pro or consider something else altogether?

TIA.

I hear mixed opinions, some say it’s a scam some say it’s useful but from peoples experience is it really worth paying that if you never really drop/break your phone?

Hi all, I have an iPhone 12 Pro Max and the findings in France about the iPhone 12 having a high RF value is freaking me out a bit. Does this apply to my iPhone 12 Pro Max, or just the iPhone 12 and not the variants? I can’t find a straight answer, one source says one thing and one says another.

Hi!

My apple watch SE was working fine on my Iphone 12 pro with an old OS but when I got the iPhone 15 I was forced to update the watch OS to the newest one and now I am having huge battery drain issues including my watch dropping 30% in two hours, and completely shutting off in the cold during a workout and just general increase in battery drainage. the watch now takes hours to charge. these all weren't on an issue with a previous OS. I took it to apple and it looks like they weren't able to replicate my issues which doesn't make sense? Has anyone found a resolution to the battery drain issue? Or an ETA on when it will resolve?

Why is my MacBook sooooo slow. I tried installing World of Warcraft (2004 version) and it just started spinning the fan really fast. Could not install the game, had to uninstall both BattleNet app and all the files attached to it.

  • I regularly clean it (CleanMyMac app dowloaded)
  • I monitor what I install on it thoroughly

The only suspicion I have is the battery that is getting kind of tired. However, I keep it plugged whenever I have heavy task to do.

It is so infuriating

I'm confused on the difference between thunderbolt and type c. I think they both are physically similar but the thunderbolt can handle faster speeds? I've just upgraded to a new 15" MacBook Air and want a secondary flash drive for old files that aren't regularly used as I had on my old 2015 air where I used a a micro sd drive in a sd adapter which worked great. I guess I want to know if a USB type C flash drive would do the job?

Would anybody be able to steer me to something that would work? Thanks!

I have multiple TV’s and multiple version of AppleTV’s and 99% of the time I launch NBC or NBC sports apps, it freezes at the opening logo. I have to force quit the Apps and relaunch and almost all the time I do that, the apps launch. It can’t be just me, right? Anyone know what the deal is with the Apps?

I just upgraded from the iPhone 8 to iPhone 15 Pro Max and am trying to set up my camera to take the best pics it can.

This video says to put the setting to HEIF Max (Up to 48 MP) but my phone only has the JPEG option

Anyone know why?

Hello, I just to give my take as to why iphones and the Apple Ecosystem have degraded over time and don't really hold up in value anymore like they used to. Every since switching to the Pixel 8 Pro, I first off saved some money from not upgrading my iphone 14 to an iphone15, but I've also realized the Google Software experience is better.

Some criticisms I realized from switching:

-The walled garden is incomplete. Why isn't there an Apple Phone plan?

-Super slow with innovations. Doesn't scale and won't continue to cater to a big audience at this rate.

-The ecosystem will get old if it doesn't continue to deliver new improvements. Especially in a world where people are getting a shorter and shorter patience/attention span for things.

-There is no presence on the web. Everyone already does everything on Google Chrome and with Chrome apps. So what's stopping Apple from offering more?

-Too expensive of an ecosystem. Especially for technology that has to be rebought in several years.

-Ethical concerns - the iMessage/bullying of children has to stop! It's not a good tactic and it makes for a terrible company image.

-The latest iphone had ports from a decade ago USB 2.0, overheating issues, and a 60hz display that even cheap Android phones at Walmart has.

-Having a Google account AND an Apple account is a waste. It should just be one account for everything. Yet if you are a iphone user, your experience is just slightly complicated.

-Not having usb c and the whole charging issue was a bummer. Having the government make better changes for consumers is just better.

-Apple hasn't made in investments in AI and there isn't any way to tell if Siri is going to get smarter.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Some reasons to switch to Pixel that I realized:

-You will have one account for everything.

-Your texting experience won't be fragmented.

-You won't be in an expensive ecosystem.

-There software for home/work/school/play/entertainment. Basically all aspects of life.

-The Google Home set of products integrate well.

-Google TV has everything! Including 800 free channels. The Chromecast only cost $20.

-The Google Software experience is easier, cleaner, and more secure.

-You'll have usb-c for everything.

-The ecosystem constantly gets new features and updates.

-The Pixel 8/8 Pro is the first phone to have a complete set of AI LLM imbedded into it. Making it the smart phone in the world.

-ChromeOS is about the best thing to ever happen to the computing world. It's just such an efficient computing operating system. At a fraction of the cost of a Mac. Excellent UI. Straight to the point. Most secure for a general user. Integrates with all modern web software.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Anyways, those are my reasons for switching and I've been really liking going all Google. If you want a simple, easy, and secure computing experience then I suggest buying/using Google Software/Hardware.

My apple watch ultra 2 alarm is not synced with phone alarm. I have push alerts turned on but it’s not working. I have to set two different alarms which is not a problem, it’s annoying that it doesn’t work as it should. (Newest update)
