Hello, I just to give my take as to why iphones and the Apple Ecosystem have degraded over time and don't really hold up in value anymore like they used to. Every since switching to the Pixel 8 Pro, I first off saved some money from not upgrading my iphone 14 to an iphone15, but I've also realized the Google Software experience is better.
Some criticisms I realized from switching:
-The walled garden is incomplete. Why isn't there an Apple Phone plan?
-Super slow with innovations. Doesn't scale and won't continue to cater to a big audience at this rate.
-The ecosystem will get old if it doesn't continue to deliver new improvements. Especially in a world where people are getting a shorter and shorter patience/attention span for things.
-There is no presence on the web. Everyone already does everything on Google Chrome and with Chrome apps. So what's stopping Apple from offering more?
-Too expensive of an ecosystem. Especially for technology that has to be rebought in several years.
-Ethical concerns - the iMessage/bullying of children has to stop! It's not a good tactic and it makes for a terrible company image.
-The latest iphone had ports from a decade ago USB 2.0, overheating issues, and a 60hz display that even cheap Android phones at Walmart has.
-Having a Google account AND an Apple account is a waste. It should just be one account for everything. Yet if you are a iphone user, your experience is just slightly complicated.
-Not having usb c and the whole charging issue was a bummer. Having the government make better changes for consumers is just better.
-Apple hasn't made in investments in AI and there isn't any way to tell if Siri is going to get smarter.

Some reasons to switch to Pixel that I realized:
-You will have one account for everything.
-Your texting experience won't be fragmented.
-You won't be in an expensive ecosystem.
-There software for home/work/school/play/entertainment. Basically all aspects of life.
-The Google Home set of products integrate well.
-Google TV has everything! Including 800 free channels. The Chromecast only cost $20.
-The Google Software experience is easier, cleaner, and more secure.
-You'll have usb-c for everything.
-The ecosystem constantly gets new features and updates.
-The Pixel 8/8 Pro is the first phone to have a complete set of AI LLM imbedded into it. Making it the smart phone in the world.
-ChromeOS is about the best thing to ever happen to the computing world. It's just such an efficient computing operating system. At a fraction of the cost of a Mac. Excellent UI. Straight to the point. Most secure for a general user. Integrates with all modern web software.

Anyways, those are my reasons for switching and I've been really liking going all Google. If you want a simple, easy, and secure computing experience then I suggest buying/using Google Software/Hardware.
